“Mr. DJ Lamba on a Zero diet… Hmm, my brother, we must survive. Abeg slow am small, let a brother survive too. If I know say anything before I commot this place, brother Victor no go pay me o. So my brother, st©p it! Say no more! Let me serve them my best,” the Mc mimicked, causing everyone to laugh, including the DJ.

“Michelle baby, na only her fine for here. See as she dey look me,” the Mc smiled at the girl who had swollen up, and couldn’t wait to bur-st. “DJ Lamba, pl@yone for Michelle baby!” He screamed, causing the girl to finally bur-st out, looking scared.

“we-tin do her? You beat her?” The Mc looked surprised, while everyone at the p@rty who knew Michelle just laughed. I could see Emmanuella, and Emmanuel laughing so ha-rd . They’ve alre-ady mentioned how Michelle would cry today, and she didn’t let them down by acting on her official stamped name…
Cry cry baby!

Michael on the other hand, has finished the cake at each side. Once he realized no one was looking, he would quic-kly de-ep his little f!nger, almost damaging the cake.
“Okay children, can I hear you sing a birthday song for today’s celebr@nts.” The DJ shouted throu-gh the mic, and the children happily sang the song.

🎶 Happy Birthday to you
Happy Birthday to you
Happy Birthday to you Michelle, and Michael…
Happy Birthday to you.
You’re One Year today…
You’re One Year today…
We wish you a good life, and long life…
Happy Birthday to you.
“h!p, h!p!!!”
“Hurray!” They all cl@pped.

Everything at the p@rty went well, and to me, everything seemed like Yesterday. When I had them, and brou-ght them into this house. At a point, I got tired of Michelle always crying, but my two Moms told me with time, she would change. Michael on the other hand had been showing some funny attitudes, but his gentle looks was so deceiving. I could tell which of my children that were very brilliant, and Michael was one of them. He run little errands for me, and I was amazed at how he quic-kly gr-ab things.

He likes to write, and only cry for two things. Pen, and paper. He gets serious beating from his elder ones because he would always write jargons in the their notes, causing those ones to scream all over the house. And what happens after the beating, he would go behind their back to take the book again. Daniel as well had gotten admission into Crown school this year to Jss1, and had been doing pretty well.
.”Say cheese!” Emmanuella said to her younger ones who were just looking at the c@m£ra man, wondering what his mission was. The moment the light flashed from the c@m£ra, Michelle ran away causing everyone to laugh.
“Come here jhoor!” Victor gr@bb£d her, and brou-ght her back, but she refused to come down. I decided to carry Michael, and the picture was turned to a family picture with Daniel, Emmanuel, and Emmanuella beside us.

The p@rty was fun. The children danced, and danced. They all enjoyed themselves. Gifts were given to each of them, and that made them more happier. Mom and Dad could not make it to their birthday, but Victor’s mom was around. I guess both Emmanuella, and Emmanuel were lucky because I had them first, and it took me some years. Whenever I remember those years of barrenness, a tear would drop, follow by my smile at the thought of the beautiful children God has blessed me with.
Both my Mom, and Dad made a video call to greet them after the whole p@rty, but instead of saying hello, and waving at them, Michelle was busy aiming at the phone so she could have it, and throw it on the floor, laughing like it was funny to her the way the phone would sound on the floor. Michael on the other one was busy trying to climb the chair so he could eat the rest of the cake I kept for few people who were not pres£nt.

I’ve never for once regretted being married to Victor. But sometimes, I wish to have my old life back. There were good times, rou-gh, tough, and and bad days, but is there any marriage that doesn’t face that? Some crash along the way. Some give in their best to make it work. Some are carried away by the social life. Some just want their marriage to be like others. Some has no idea being married is different from being single. Some are not prepared. Some just want it so badly. But I guess I belong to the group of some who are doing their best to see their marriage work.
He has his flaws. The ones I could tolerate, and the ones I couldn’t st©p complaining about. But with time, I accepted we are two different people that couldn’t act alike. So, instead of always complaining, I chose to love him, and correct him when he does anything wrong. All the rou-gh, and tough times we’ve been throu-gh, we fought it together, and that made me respect him more. I love him so much. I can never st©p loving him. My King. My All in All. My add!çtion. My Love. Whenever he confesses his love for me, I would silently pray for my Dad for forcing me to write a scholarsh!pexam. God made it happen. God used him for me.

✏VICTOR’S P O V ✔

I guess marriage is a sacred decision you have to make. As a man, once I’m married, I don’t wanna cheat on my woman. I want to be a good father. I want to be able to stand for my family throu-gh tough times. And that depends on the kind of man, or woman you want to marry to make it work. If he or she has the same vision with you, it will be so easy for you two to work together. Can two work together, except they be agreed? Amos3:3
I was the first to retire to be-d. I was tired from the whole drama
we acted throu-gh out the day. I wasn’t feeling slee-ping though, so I had my earphone on, listening, and singing to a song by Adekunle Gold.

🎶 Now I know
I’ll be nothing without your love
Don’t you know that…
You’re everything that I want and more.
I could give my life
I know its sounding de-ep girl
It’s how you make me feel
🎶I’ll die for you
I’ll lie for you
I’ll fight for you
Every single day my Lady.

“Are you sure?” That soft, and beautiful hand re-moved my earphone, smiling at me. “Are you sure you will die for me?” She tea-sed, ma-king me feel relaxed.

“Come here,” I drew her closer to me, and say the lyrics to her again. “I will stand by you. I will fight for you. I will grow with you, and I will die with with you.”

She grinned. “Why do I have a feeling someone just changed the lyrics,” she looked at me, but I changed the direction of my look, and k!$$£d that p@rt of her that has been torturing me. She moved closer, and k!$$£d me ha-rd . Her mouth tasted of cream milk, and my hands couldn’t hold itself, as they went in search of what they could pl@ywith. She allowed my ton-gue in, and immediately, I re-moved the short go-wn covering her beautiful Glory. Okay… I smelled

something odd. I st©pped the k!ss, and asked.

“What’s smelling?”

Suzy laughed, and laughed before slowly pushing me away. “That must be the remaining jollof rice I’m planning to eat.” She rushed downstairs in nothing but her undies, leaving me alone to laugh.

Can this woman go a day without eating? I pray she made it there on time before getting us all burnt. I wouldn’t want us to end our love story that way.
