Michelle, Michelle Baby
Why are you crying?
Ella sister loves you…
Mommy loves you…
Brother Emma loves you.
Daddy loves you…
Grandma, Grandpa loves you.

A smile graced myl-ips watching Emmanuella as she sang for Michelle. That little big girl can cry for Africa. How could crying be her hobby? It’s been two weeks since I got back from the hospital. Mom had gone back to Abuja immediately after the naming ceremony, except from Victor’s Mom who was still staying around. It had not been easy trying to take care of the babies, and taking care of both Emmanuella and Emmanuel at the same time. But Victor’s mom had been a great help.
Sprawled on the long settee was Emmanuel who had sle-pt off immediately he was done eating his dinner. But for Emmanuella, she was always beside me asking me so many questions.

“Mommy, why is Michelle slee-ping small small?”

“Mommy, why is Michael so gentle?”

“This Michelle can eat o. Mommy, let’s start giving
her rice.”

“But mommy, is your br£@st milk tasting like our
Dano milk?

Trust me, the only reason why I kept her beside me was because she helps me with little little things when I nee-d them. Children are over curious, and sometimes their questions will just make you laugh.

How can a two weeks old baby start eating rice? I know it wasn’t Emmanuella’s fault. Michelle can just svçkfor Africa. She likes it when she sleeps with it, and wakes up with it.
But for Michael, I wondered where he got the gentle spirit from? Like, Victor looks like someone that doesn’t talk, but seriously, that man is no close to gentle. And me, may be I have once being a gentle girl.

Suzy, Iffa hear!

That made me laugh. Talking about Victor’s family, his Mom was good at gisting, and the first day she visited, we talked for about three hours, and it was never enough. That is what my mom can never do! Wait… How come I never thought of that
Mom!

So calm. Gentle. Quiet.

She wouldn’t fight back even when you expect her to. I knew within me, that Dad was indeed lucky to have a woman like that, because I was sure what he tries with Mom and go scot free, some women will never take that. Now, I fear for Michael, and hope ladies won’t take advantage of that once he starts dealing with them.
No fear for Michelle because the girl would be so stubborn, and full of funny dramas. When she’s crying, no one sleeps. I wondered how Emmanuel haven’t woken up from that settee, because even Victor had run away from the room.
I was full of happiness the first day I held them. They looked so cute, adorable, and really identical, but thank God they c@m£ as boy, and girl, so it was easy to identify them. I still go for check up, and had been really really stressful. Victor was yet to tell me anything, but I guessed he would come around. He had travelled immediately after the naming ceremony and was meant to be back today.

“Mommy, I’m feeling sleepy, but I really want to wait for Daddy too,” Emmanuella said, opening, and closing her eyes. I dropped Michael who was asleep in his crib, and collected Michelle who was still crying a little, but almost dozing off.

“Go inside and sleep. Mommy will wake you up when Dad comes back,” I said. Will I even do that?

But she believed me. I knew the reason why she was waiting is just get what their would bring home for them. Children ehhn! Immediately she went in, I heard a car drove into the compound, and I knew Victor was back. With Michelle in my hand, I hurriedly walked towards the door, and opened it, but the moment I did, he just strode in, and headed straight upstairs.
I followed him, but he jammed our room door before I could meet up with him, causing Michelle to yell out a cry. The girl who had been looking for an excuse to cry before started her crying business, causing me to wait a little and pet her. Immediately Michelle kept quiet, I walked in on him. “So, you don’t know how to greet your family again? Why are you vexing around the house?” I knew something wasn’t right with the reaction he brou-ght in.

He looked at me, scratched his rou-gh hair, flung his tie on the be-d, and looked at me again. “Suzy we nee-d to talk!”

“You mean about your child!”

He was totally dumbfounded. Fear written all over him. I could see his Adam’s apple going up and down. Everywhere remained quiet for about thirty seconds before I heard his voice again.

“Suzy!”

I gave him one of my encouraging smiles. “He belongs here.”
He didn’t st©p staring at me, his looks asking so many questions I wouldn’t be able to answer. As much as tears were threatening to come, I couldn’t allow it, because it won’t change what has happened. I couldn’t give him a reason to doubt me.

“Suzy!” He said again. “Are you-”

I gave him a nod. “We are in this together!”

📝 Victor’s POV✔

I was in a meeting at Abuja when Dad kept calling me. I couldn’t pick up until I got back to Yomi’s h0tel in Lagos, and the moment he said Betty c@m£
to see me, I immediately knew what the call was all about.

“Dad, we can’t discuss this now. I will get back to you later.” I tried to make it clear to him it wasn’t a discussion I would like to talk about at that moment, but he disagreed.

“Just listen to me!” He raised his voice. “That boy is yours. I met him today, and he is just like you when you were little. Suzy has no other option than to accept him, and if she decides to leave you because of this, there are many women that can replace her, and love your–”

“Dad st©p it! Just st©p that nons-en-se!” He was starting to piss me off. How could he say something like that. Me, getting married to someone else after four kids. He doesn’t know anything about Suzy and has no right to utter such statement. “Dad st©p it if you’re trying to crack jokes here. You nee-d to know it’s not funny at all. Really, really not funny at all, and you’re really pissing me off.”

Dad was silent for a second or two before he spoke up again. “Will you just listen to what I have to say! Everyone knows this is not your fault, and is not like you had an affair in your marriage. This was before your marriage, and you had no idea a child exist until now. So I expect your woman to–”

“Just leave my woman out of this!” I cut him off furiously. I just don’t want us mentioning Suzy’s name in this matter. I didn’t like the choice of words Dad used from the start, and I wouldn’t just let him say anything about my woman.
“Can you just let me talk!” It was obvious my Dad was angry now, but this wasn’t our first time of arguing over an issue.
“No Dad! I should be the one asking you what you know about un-derstanding a situation when you kicked me out of your office? And how do you think Mom will take something like this if this ever happen to her!”

Dad was quiet for a longtime, but I knew he hasn’t cut the line. “Just calling to inform you we are coming over to your place tomorrow,” he said calmly when I expected him to yell back at me. I didn’t get

that. My house! With?

I decided to ask.

“You and who to where?” I knew I sounded a bit annoying. But I just didn’t like the way Dad was trying to handle the situation. This is my issue. This is my problem. And I’m man enough to handle it.

“Dad I have to go. I will only advice you not to destroy your Son’s home because I’m yet to tell my wife all these, and I don’t plan on getting a new wife. Bye for now.”

“You should tell your wife then,” he quic-kly said before I hung up. My conversation with Dad took so long that I didn’t realize we were almost home. Immediately the car drove in, I gave the driver Yomi s£nt over to me some amount of money to appreciate his kindness. I got down, and he rushed over to come help me with my suitcase but I dismissed him, and instructed him to quic-kly return Yomi’s car.

I was still angry with the conversation I had with Dad, but I managed to calm myself down, until I was almost reaching the door when I saw his call c@m£ in again. As soon as the door opened, I walked in angrily, and went to straight to our room.
Why was he calling again? I threw my phone on the be-d, and started discarding my clothes when the door was gently opened again.

“So, you don’t know how to greet your family again!” Suzy said immediately she walked in with one of the twins on her shoulder. She looked concern, and very obvious she knew something was wrong. On a normal day, I would have decided to tease her with that, but the mood I was in, gave me no room. Suddenly, an idea dropped, telling me to take the chance to tell her everything.

💞💞💞💞💞💞💞
After the conversation Suzy and I had, I was totally relaxed, and okay. I felt calm, and I still couldn’t believe the reaction I got from Suzy. I was expecting some fight, serious argument, and many more before we come to an agreement, but that didn’t happen. I didn’t know how that happened though, but she made it very easy for me.

Sincerely, I’m always excited to share anything with her, because no matter what, she was re-ady to listen and support me. The more reason why some men can’t share what happens to them, is because they knew there are things they can’t share with their wife, and if they do… They should get re-ady to be judged their entire life.

I wish this never happened, because de-ep down in my heart, I never wanted to hurt Suzy. The love I have for her can’t be put into words. My once crazy pretty girl. Waking up beside her, and being the one to t©uçh her, k!ssher, and make her feel like a woman all the time, gives me so much pride, because many out there are still dreaming of being in my position. She had really tried for me, and the more she proved to be a strong woman, the more I love her, and never want to lose a woman like her.
If I ever lose her!

I don’t think my life would ever be the same.

I wasn’t sure of how many minutes I spent in the bathroom, but it took me so long because I couldn’t help thinking about the past. My life with Betty before Suzy got a scholarsh!pinto crown school. My life until her.
Until her, I never for once thought about love. I was that teen that wanted to enjoy life, explore, and finally settle with any lucky woman. Betty was around the whole time. Kinda ha-rd to admit, but was the first girl I ever had S-x with. She wanted it, and I wanted it as well.
To her, it was a dream come true, but to me, I didn’t see it as a big deal, except that, I regretted taking her vir-ginity. Since then, she had been attached to me, and I was just too immature to keep going back. But when I first saw a picture of Suzy, it was as if I’ve never met a girl in my life. Even in the pas-sport, she was beautiful. And when I saw a picture of her on the TV screen, she was smiling this time.

Gosh! Some guys will not die of thinking about a woman they can’t have. That was my thought the whole time, but promised myself, I would get to know Suzy no matter what. And when everything cli-cked, that I thought I was done with Betty, I never imagined or thought this would eventually happened. We weren’t the first to ever d@t£, and breakup. It happens, and I believe it is always for the best. Though she didn’t get to be my wife, but she bec@m£ a mother to my kid. I blamed myself for being careless, and for being too close. I love Suzy. I love Suzy. I really do love that woman.

“I’ve entered this room three times, and you’re still inside that bathroom. plea-se, hope you’re not trying to commit murder!” Suzy shouted, which made me smile, and ease my stressed b©dy.

“I’m fine. Coming out alre-ady.” I stepped out, and heard her muttered. “Thank you lord.”

She asked if she could bring my food, but with everything on ground, my appetite was gone. I didn’t feel like taking anything, and I was glad she un-derstood the reason why. She brou-ght the twins, and placed them in their separate crib, while she went inside the bathroom to have a quic-k shower too. I missed the twins so much, and decided to check on them immediately I changed into my short bo-xer.

Michael moved a bit when I carried him, but immediately went back to sleep. I put him back, and as I was about to carry Michelle, Suzy c@m£ and saw me. “Ehnn! Ehnn! Don’t carry her, don’t carry her!” She yelled, but the next thing we heard caused me to laugh. Suzy gr@bb£d a pillow immediately, and threw at me.

“I thought this girl had st©pped crying?” I ended up carrying her. “Michelle when will you st©p being a crying baby?” I asked the little baby who was busy staring at me, and was almost keeping quiet. But the moment I asked her the question, her mouth bec@m£ wi-de again, and yelled for the whole house to hear.

Mommy I’m crying!

Mommy I’m crying na!

“Michelle, Michelle, common English you did not un-derstand. Ehnn!” Suzy said, walking towards us. “Come to mommy, and st©p crying.” She collected the baby from me. With towel still wra-pped around her b©dy, Michelle moved her mouth straight to where the brea-sts was, before her mouth was finally shocked with one. And that was enough to keep her voice down.
I went to my side of the be-d, re-ady to sleep and relax my tired b©dy. It was a stressful and hectic day. I nee-ded rest badly
