MARRIED TO THE OVERLORD.

CHAPTER TWENTY-SEVEN
While someone was busy plotting against the couple , the couple were rather having the time of their lives.
Gabrielle never been this busy before not when she worked as a consultant in her father’s company.
Turns out being Lord Xavier’s as-sistant was more complicated than being a consultant.
“Argh!” She dropped everything she was doing and did a lot stretching.
She’d just entered her office shortly after attending a meeting with Xavier as his as-sistant.
She won’t deny how happy she was to be working in one of the biggest tech company in The country.
Everyone on the same floor as the president were rather professional with work even though they probably already knew about her marriage to the boss ofcourse she won’t want a situation where they would become afraid of her.
‘well they can do whatever they want.’ she shrugged and kept on mas-saging her ankles before seating behind her desk to finish off a few paperwork for the boss.
The buss of the intercom almost made her jumpy.
“Come to my office.” She heard his husky voice over the speaker and mentally nodded.
She stood up immediately carrying a neatly organized paperwork and walked outta her office.
She could feel the stares of the staffs but kept walking towards the CEO’s office with her head held up high.
“Is there something I can help you with?” She asked rather politely and Williams only handed over a folder without raising his head to look at her.
“Sign that to become the second largest shareholder.” He casually stated leaving her dumbfounded.
“Wait..what?” She frown in confusion.
Why is he giving her shares in his company? Sometimes she doesn’t even know what goes throu-ghthe head of the man in front of her.
Sometimes she feels like he married her for other purposes and sometimes he makes her feel like there’s something going on that she doesn’t know about which she Also don’t wanna know.
“Go throu-ghit and sign at the bottom, fli-p to the next page and sign that one also.” He added ignoring her question again.
‘Why does it feel like he upto something?’ she thought to herself.
“No nee-d to go throu-ghit anyway as long as it’s nothing illegal then I’m fine with it.” She took out her pen and signed her name on both docu-ments before handing over.
This time Xavier stopped working and took a look at the docu-ments.
A mysterious glint flash throu-ghhis eyes but was gone before she could notice.
“Very well then let’s have lunch together, I got George to order lunch.” He stood up unhurriedly and walked towards the floor to ceiling glas-s walls while staring internally at the city before him.
He shoved his hands into his pocket to avoid clenching his fist.
George knocked on the door gently before walking in with his boss’s orders and placed them on the coffee table, bow slightly and left.
“Let’s eat.” He mumbled softly and walked towards Gabrielle who kept scrutinizing his face.
He said down with his legs crossed and he pulled her to seat down beside him.
Gabrielle was de-eply lost in her thoughts that she failed to see him putting more meals in her dish.
He took a little spoon and flic-k her forehead with it.
“Ouch! What was that for?” She exaggerated.
“Stop overthinking dear wife the shares are my betrothal gifts to you.” He pulled her closer and began mas-saging her temple gently.
“Oh I see, aigoo! my head hurts so much.” She decided to be dramatic if that would make him be gentle with her.
“Really? Let me see.” His face was really close to hers as he kept blowing hot air on her forehead sending a tingling s-ns¶tion down her body.
“Ouch! “She winced in pain when her dramatic moments were shortlived as he flic-ked her forehead again.
“Stop being so dramatic else the food is gonna go cold.” He whispered and planted a ki-ss on her temple before pulling away to enjoy his meal while Gabrielle could heat cripped up her ne-ck.
“For a moment I thought you were planning to be gentle but who knew you were only hiding in a sheep clothing tsk.” She rolled her eyes and stuffing mushrooms into her mouth.
Williams smi-rked mockingly but didn’t say a word as he kept his lunch with a calm expression but Gabrielle knew there was nothing calm about him.
He’s a calculative and manipulative person makes it extremely ha-rd to anyone to outsmart him. One of the reasons why his company always maintained the position of the first place in the top 5 riche-st company at the age of 30.
He is known for his iron fist in the stock market and also His ruthlessness in handling his enemies.
No one dared to cross him at all unless they wanted to ruin their families overnight.
“Stop eating like a pig it’s disgusting.” He just had to open his mouth and irritate her further.
“Yeah I know right? You got married to one.”she rolled her eyes and kept on stuffing food into her mouth.
“Stupid little bug.” He mumbled un-der his breath but Gabrielle didn’t care about he said as she kept enjoying the sumptuous meal.
“By the way what’s written on the other docu-ments? Is it something about my inheritance?” She asked casually even though de-ep down she was dying to know what he was up to.
“Don’t worry my love you’ll find out soon enough.” She cringed at the word ‘my love’.
CHAPTER TWENTY-EIGHT.
The rest of the week went smoothly than expected but not all people though.
A man sat down by the dark corner of his office as he smoked quietly while he listens to reports from one of his trusted ally.
“Are you sure it’s her?” He asked again consealing his face in the dark making it highly impossible to decipher his facial reactions.
“Yes boss she’s the one with that man, she’s currently working in his company too. My sources says he’s planning on making her the second biggest shareholder.” The tall man in black explained.
“Hmm that’s more like Xavier’s doing. But still I don’t trust him he didn’t earned himself in the business world if he this easy to track down and I also don’t feel his marriage to her is merely a coincidence keep an eye on them both.” He’s husky voice vibr@ted along with the glas-s walls of his office.
He dip the cigarette bu-tt into the ashtray as he thought about her.
“What do we do about Ray and the Singer?” The man asked his boss who seem to be in de-ep thoughts.
“Ray is a greed man he would agree to scheme against Xavier Williams if the deal is beneficial to him, I would advice we use the Singer she’s quite impressive.” He spoke while trying to see throu-ghhis boss’s facial expressions but unfortunately he was seating in the dark so he couldn’t see what he was doing or know what he thinking.
“One finger on my daughter and I will kill her. Tell the singerMichelle what I said.”
The man said to his subordinate and closed his eyes while resting against the chair.
“Okay boss I’ll get right on it. Do you nee-d anything else?” The tall man asked his boss.
“Yes buy a bunch of white roses and have them delivered to my daughter with a cute note attached, it’s high time I made myself known.” His eyes became sinister as he thought the worst ways to bring Xavier to his knees.
“That would be all.” He dismissed his subordinate and kept on mas-saging his temple.
“My little chòrito, daddy is coming to you soon.” He opened his eyes and a strange glint pas-sed throu-ghhis eyes for a moment but he smiled devilishly.
Lol the devil boss.
He insisted on holding her hand as the walked towards the elevator intentionally feeding all his employees with dog food.
How could you do this to us boss?
Gabby could feel heat cripping up her ne-ck while trying to avoid the preying eyes of workers.
“You can let go of me .” Gabby mumbled allthe moment they got into the elevator.
“Why? I know you really know having physical contact with Me dearest.”he winked at her making Gabby glared at him.
“You’re seriously being unreasonable making me wonder how your employees would react once they see how the cold CEO was acting childish suddenly.” She lraised her eyebrows teasingly.
He chuckled softly and pulled her closer.
“Childish you say? And last night you were begging me to stop that you couldn’t take me anymore.” He shamelessly says and Gabby slapped his upper arm as her face grow hot.
“Shameless. ” She glared playfully and finally the elevator door opened and the duo walked out together and both went towards their various office.
Lord Williams immediately called George the moment he stepped into his office.
“I found the seller of the Iris recognition system in the black market. And also your plan worked, some flowers were delivered to the lady boss desk this morning anonymously by that man but I was quick to intercept the delivery and discard the flowers before it got to her office.” George mentally praised himself for being quick witted.
Hopefully his boss was gonna give him a raise on the monthly quarter.
“Hmm Good. Make sure she doesn’t see any of his flowers or anything else and dispose of the watch dogs he planted in my office and the ones secretly following my wife around.” Xavier knew he was being followed by that man’s dogs but acted like he was aware of their presence.
He also knew about his little flies in company from the start but acted nonchalantly.
What didn’t know was that he intentionally approved their application for they’re a piece of the puzzle in his game and now their part of being played it’s time to take out the trash.
