When I got home I felt bad I reacted that way to Charity even when she hasn’t done anything wrong. This shaking in my studies affected me emotionally and I see my self being so aggressive even to my mother, but my anger and worries won’t change or undo anything.
When I arrived school the next day I quic-kly apologized to Charity before the lecture began and she heaved,
“Its okay friend, I un-derstand, she said and I only nodded.
“Thank you, but I don’t think you do. I’m just scared, what if this happens in my exams what will I do? I asked.
“Shhhh why do you think of such a thing? She asked.
“Why won’t I? Till now I can’t explain how my test script got missing neither can the repres£ntative tell me what’s going on, can’t the same thing happen in my exams? I asked.
“Purity plea-se shun such a thing from you, I told dad about what is going on and he will be coming today, she said.
“Why do you have to bother him with that? I asked.
“Why won’t I? Its affecting me also do I have a choice? She asked.
“Not like its going to change anything, you shouldn’t have bothered him, I said.
“Well he will coming today and that wouldn’t have happened if you didn’t give me attitude, she said with a frown and I smiled hitting her.
‘Are you sure you were not missing him alre-ady that’s why you called? I asked wi-nking at her and she laughed.
“You caused it na, so let him come, she said and the lecturer walked in………
Just like what Charity earlier told me, her dad c@m£ and we left to see him.
I first thanked him for the fees he s£nt before anything else,
“Its okay, you alre-ady thanked me on phone. But what’s going on? Charity told me some things I don’t un-derstand, he said and I told him everything.
“What nons-en-se? And which lecturer is responsible for the courses? He asked and I told him their names.
“don’t worry I’ll look into the matter. I know some of the lecturers here and I’ll s£nd words to them your scripts should be properly looked for, such things cannot happened now I’m involved in your education, he said and it was like they poured me chill water.
Though Charity admission was totally out of connection, that’s why her father was so happy she as-sociated with someone who can help her retain in the dep@rtment.
“Thank you sir thank you, I can’t afford to lose any mark when every mark counts, I said.
“Of course I know that, a minute plea-se, he said and made a call and I was so surprised he mentioned a lecturer name, and he was head of the lecturers missing my scripts.
“Let me ask her, he said still on phone and asked for my Reg. Number which I quic-kly called it out for him and he repeated it to the man he was talking with.
“Okay I’ll so much appreciate you look into this, the students testified she wrote the tests and its really affecting her studies, he said.
“Thank you much, thank you bye, he said and dropped the call and my heart was beating fast.
“He promised to look into the matter, don’t worry okay, he said.
“Thank you sir, I said.
“Thanks dad, Charity added.
“You’re welcome, and what did you have in your test? He asked Charity and she laughed.
“You are laughing? I hope Purity you’re pushing this for me? He asked me and I nodded.
“She had 20 in the both sir, I replied.
“Impressive, no wonder she is laughing, he said.
“But i told you I’m re-ading nau, though I can’t afford to lose even a point o, I’ll just run mad after all my suffer all night, she said.
“Don’t run mad plea-se just take it slow, and if such a thing happens again don’t hesitate to let me know, he said and checked his wrist watch.
“Okay I have to go now, take care ladies, he said giving his daughter a pe-ck.
“So soon? Charity asked.
“Yea I only Rushed here to attend to this, take your time and eat and order more if you’re not satisfied, bye, he said dropping notes on the table and we waved him bye while Charity took the wine he didn’t finished and gulped it down laughing at me.
“What are you laughing now? I asked.
“I didn’t want it to waste na, so should I order for your mom? She asked.
“No that’s not necessary I cooked at home, I said.
“Let her eat something exotic na, she said.
“She won’t eat it Charity, she will just scatter the whole food on the floor and drink water, I think she prefers home food don’t bother yourself, I said.
“But she eats chicken right? I’ll order that for her, she insisted and i shook my head concentrating on my food while she did the ordering…………..
The next day in clas-s our repres£ntative approached me and handed something to me but Charity took it instead and shouted jumping up.
I took it from her to see its my test scripts and joined her in shouting,
“Ahhhh thank you, where did you find it? I asked him.
“I didn’t but i was called this morning by the lecturers who apologized they misplaced the script somehow and I made sure your scores were properly do¢v-mented down, he said.
“Thank you so much, i appreciate, I said but he smiled and left.
I had 25 in both, and just imagine 50 scores would have been gone like that.
“Let me call my dad, he nee-d to hear this! Charity happily said dialling his number and we talked at length on phone.
We went out in that excitement to get a cu-p of ice cream as our little way of celebr@ting and the girls appeared smiling at us and Charity looked at me.
“So Purity how is your studies? Hope you’re doing good? The slim one asked.
“Yea I’m doing good and you’re not bad either, excuse me, I said holding hands with Charity to go but i st©pped and looked at them carefully.
“Why did you ask about my studies anyway? Or did you try doing anything to st©p it? I’m sorry your little work failed anyway, failure! I shouted on them and left leaving them confused somehow.
“Do you think they were the one trying to make you fail? Charity asked as we were going.
“Didn’t their question look suspicious? Remember they threatened me before this happened, I won’t be surprised they were the one doing this, I said and had a call from the repres£ntative the lecturers i had problem with wants to see me.
“Okay get it, I said and dropped the call and hissed telling Charity.
“Maybe they want to apologize, I’m sure they knew you were so worried when this happened, she said.
“Did you see the way that man embarras-sed me without hearing me out? What does he want to apologize? I asked.
“Purity forget about it, just go and hear them out, you may never know what happened, common let’s go, she said dragging me as i sluggishly followed her.
When we were almost in one of the lecturer office, I was so surprised to see one of the girls coming out from the lecturer office.
Charity mouth flew open and the girl was some how surprised to see us.
I simply ignored her and knocked on the door once and opened up.
“Good afternoon sir, you asked to see me? I asked.
“Purity right? He asked an I nodded.
“Come in come in, he said and i went in alone leaving Charity outside.
He apologized for the mixup on my script and apologized for shouting on me and I was just quiet.
“Can I ask a question sir? I asked when he was done blabbering.
“Yea, he said.
“Sorry but I’m just curious to know, The girl that just left what does she have to do with you? I asked.
“I beg your pardon! What does it have to do with what we are talking about? He said and i smiled.
‘Can you swear my script was really missing or you sold it out on be-d to the girls who threatened me on campus? You think i didn’t know? I boldly asked like i was that sure and he begged me to keep my voice low and it was written all over him that he was guilty and i smiled.
“I will take this apology but if it repeat it self again, I’m sorry sir you won’t like my reaction. Have a good day, I said and left his office and headed to another office.
I knocked and opened up, and behold the slim one sitting in his office and I began to laugh ha-rd cl@pping my hands when the lecturer wanted s£nding me out in the name of “did i ask you to come in?”.
“Sorry I interrupted something but let me introduce myself. I’m Purity the girl you sold her script to have this bit-ch on be-d, i said and the girl stood up facing me but i wasn’t shaken.
“Was that all you could do you cheap bastard! I can’t believe my downfall will make you so happy or probably make you add a little weight you cranky thing. And let me seriously warn you, next time such a thing happens, you’ll be wanted for and i promise you that, i said pointing my f!nger at her face and looked at the lecturer for a while.
“Your children will be so disappointed to hear this from you, continue with your discussion, i said and left the office without anyone ma-king a noise.
I was so infuriated as I walked so fast giving charity ha-rd time to meet up with me. Our repres£ntative st©pped me on the way but i told him I’m not in a good mood to talk with him.
After that day, the lecturer feared me and can’t look into my face when teaching neither did the girls go anywhere close to us.
I and our repres£ntative got to be close, and the incident kind of created friendsh!pbetween I and our course mates.
The semester exams was taken and our results was so excellent.
I began to miss Charity as we will be going for Vacation, but again I was happy I will be having Time with my mom, I missed all her troubles though………
