Love by a beast Episode 13 & 14

LOVE BY A BEAST
EPISODE 13

I expected that I should be happy that Timi and Annie were no more an item, but I wasn’t. It felt good knowing that he won’t be straffing her again, but it left too many uncertainties. Before now I consoled myself that the only reason why Timi didn’t come back to me was because of Annie. She seemed a formidable replacement.
As I watched him drive, I felt bad. Was he heartbroken? Abayomi was gisting about the changes Gbenga Daniel had brou-ght to the state when he c@m£ in 2003, but now, all he did was loot the state dry. Toun, who was an avid PDP fan, disagreed. I had little interest in politics, I know Timi liked Gbenga Daniel, but he was quiet.
Abayomi: So Timi, would you come pick us for the p@rty tonight?
Timi: I won’t be going
Toun: why na, because of your heartbreak?
Timi laughed..
I decided that I might put rat poison in Toun’s indomie
Me: you should come na, Annie might be there. You guys can even make-up.
Abayomi: plenty other girls will be there..you can have your pick
Toun: you think everyb©dy is as cheap as Kofo?
Abayomi stared at the pas-sing cars..
Me: but if you really don’t wanna come, it’s alright.
For the remaining time spent in Timi’s car, we spoke about the unknown Umar Yaradua, who was PDP’s presidential flag bearer. The only thing we knew about him was that he was the katsina state governor that voluntarily declared his as-sets.
Though Abayomi and Toun wanted me to follow them home for Sunday rice, I declined. I had clothes to wash, books to re-ad and pri-vately sort out my emotional life.
I also wanted to know who had given the orders for our Kidnap. Though Toun believed National had something to do with it, I had a feeling it was bigger than National. Something told me what Abayomi and I were campaigning for was more than the SUG position.
Aisha was one of those popular girls in school, the kind of girl that spent so much on clothes that you wondered if her house was a boutique. She was also known for clubbing ha-rd . I was surprised that she had chos£n her house as the venue for the p@rty. Toun was sitting on my be-d, drinking nutri-c while helping me decide what to wear.
Toun: National is gaining grounds over us
Me: how do you know?
Toun: Timi was telling me that mini-campus might be ours, but we would share the main-campus with National. The college of medicine and Engineering might just be our waterloo.
Me: and what is he doing about it?
Toun: all he can, you know he is a student also, and immediately after the elections, comes exam.
Me: true..
I settled for an armless t©p and a black jean. Before we went for the p@rty, we decided to quic-kly visit Chibuzor, he had arrived from the hospital the day before. His girlfriend wasn’t around when we got to his room.
Me: Chiboy, I see you are better now
Chibuzor: st©p jor, I know you people c@m£ to mock me
Toun: No jor, we were scared that day o…have you ever considered dropping out and starting a Ministry?
Me: you are mad Toun. Don’t mind her jor, every once in a while s–t like that happens..
Chibuzor: how did I behave , tell me what I said.
Toun: ask your girlfriend na..
Chibuzor: we are having issues, she said I embarras-sed her.
Toun: finally , you fucck up sha..
Me: Toun and I just decided to come say hello..we will be on our way now..
Toun: no!..Chibuzor I am hungry o…you get beans?
I practically dragged her out of the room. Chibuzor was laughing but you could clearly see that he was embarras-sed.
Abayomi arrived shortly, he c@m£ with Chukwudi, one guy like that in maths science. They c@m£ with some drinks that we started sipping to prepare ourselves for the p@rty ahead. Sometime later I got a text..
Timi = changed my mind, see you at the p@rty.
I felt awesome!
Me= you really don’t have to come.
I hoped he wouldn’t take my text serious, I was alre-ady regretting it when I got another text.
Timi = I don’t have to, I want to…
Aisha stayed in a four be-droom ap@rtment that she shared with her friends. Outside the ap@rtment, the smell of Marijuana was competing with oxygen. Music of MoHITS, the rave of the moment was blasting with gyration.
Cuz I want to dance with you pere…..
Omo ma lo rope mo kere……
If your b©yfri£ndcome mi ma mere….
Abayomi and Chukwudi saw people that knew them outside, so they left us to our whims. Like decent people that girls were and men will never be, we looked for Aisha to tell her happy birthday. Girls were alre-ady grinding their male counterp@rts to the sweet voice of Wande Cole. I finally sighted Aisha..
Aisha: babes howfar, you guys made it..
We went for a hvg. She was wearing what we called a micro-mini . her b©yfri£nd, a student of Uni-LAG that spent most of his time in Ago..was hanging around her like a fly to s–t. As food was one of my Forte, I left Toun and Aisha to continue with their small talks, while I went to look for edibles. I saw a tray of fried chiken in her kitchen . I picked a piece and wanted to munch it when I saw his familiar sweet face. He was sitting with a group of people arguing about Atiku’s chances in the election as a candid@t£ for ACN. He must have seen me because he stood up abruptly and walked up to me.
Timi: you are looking h0t
Me: you are not looking bad yourself..
He handed me a cu-p of ponch. If it were another guy, I would have rejected it, but it was Timi..my Timi.
Timi: where is Toun and Abayomi?
Me: Toun is with Aisha, Abayomi is with Chukwudi..
Timi: you are with me
The fine boy was flir-ting with me..
Me: yes I am with you
Timi: come let’s dance..
He led me to the dancing area, the Dj changed the song to P-square’s “Do Me”. Timi didn’t waste time in spinning me around so that my shaking bu-m was against his j£rking w@!st. His right hand was on my w@!st, ..he leaned to my ears and spoke:
Timi: are you seeing anyone?
Me: no…why?
Timi: I want you back, nkem
Me: like that?, I must look cheap.
Believe me, what my mouth was saying and what my w@!st was doing was different. I liked this boy too much.
Timi: no boo, I am crazy about you…I know you like me too..
Proud idiot..
Me: yes I like you, but I must know what happened the first time. Why you left me. I begged you like a slave, I almost ran mad. You didn’t blink. What did I do to you Timileyin?
I turned and faced him, looked at him and I swear I saw pain. My hand went around his shoulder as we danced along. That was when I saw the dark figure sitting down. If what I saw in Timi’s eyes was pain, what I saw in the dark figure’s eyes was unre-adable.
Jafar’s eyes were blank as Timi held my w@!st to “ Lori le o di Gobe”.
Two girls were in other sides of him. They had red cu-ps of what I suspected was ponch. Jafar didn’t seem to be drinking. I re-moved my eyes from his darkness and concentrated on Timi…or tried to concentrate.
Timi: we would talk about it tonight
Me: I will be glad
Timi: I hope you un-derstand though
Me: why didn’t you explain to me while you were still with Annie?
Timi: when I explain, you would un-derstand
I just quiet and allowed myself enjoy the song. When I stole a glance at Jafar, he was gone, although his space was maintained as the girls sat in the opposite sides of his abs£nce. The house was filled to the brim, it was like everyb©dy turned up. I saw one of Jafar’s goon just a distance away, the one that led the as-sault on Acho. He was there to protect me, I felt protected as he smoked his cigarette and his eyes never left me.
Toun and Abayomi entered the house and started dancing immediately. You could see that they were crazy about each-other. As we both danced, I felt this was how it was supposed to be. I felt alive.
When Annie walked in with her pvzzycat dolls, I felt a bit awkward, Timi didn’t see her but I did. She looked at me too, instead of the frown I expected, she smiled.
I had to take a breather so I went back to the kitchen to eat another chiken. Toun followed me and the aproko in her was just annoying.
Toun: you and Timi back?
Me: no jor..
Toun: the way you were giving it to that poor boy, him d–k go don dey pain am. You guys ought to straff o…just for old times’ sake
Me: you no get s-en-se.
Toun: this chicken is the truth.
We munched and gisted about what the girls were wearing when we heard a sound that you shouldn’t hear in a p@rty. The kitchen had a small sto-re that was slightly opened. Toun went to peep, then c@m£ back smiling, she beckoned on me to join her in peeking. Though it was dark, we could see the girl holding the drum of water with bu-m sh0t backwards with the guy ramming her like his life depended on it. National’s eyes were closed as he gr@bb£d the bu-m he fuccked. Kofo’s m0@n was getting louder as she seemed to be ¢v-ming . I un-derrated the size of the girl’s ikebe o..it swallowed National’s d–k without preamble.
Toun and I ran like little kids to look for Abayomi so we can tell him about what we saw, as we ran we pas-sed people drinking, some people smooching themselves at the doorway, we hadn’t searched for long when I saw something. Something I wished I never saw. I saw Timi talking to Annie at such close proximity, that any movement would have seen them enter each-other. He looked so embroiled in the discussion that he didn’t see me. But Annie saw me; she k!$$£d him and held him ti-ght. He held her too. I kept walking, I didn’t want Toun to see them. I didn’t want the pity.
Abayomi and Chukwudi were talking when Toun interrupted and whispered in his ears. I tried to act like I was still elated, but I wasn’t anymore. I just wanted to drown.
For the second time, Timi was breaking my heart.
LOVE BY A BEAST
EPISODE 14
Abayomi had a bottle of Night Train which I collected from him. He and Chukwudi followed Toun to the sto-re to spy at the people fuccking . I was looking for the perfect place to hide without being seen by people that know me. Everywhere was occu-pied. I blamed myself for believing that things might return to normal between Timi and i. if I had been any smart, I would have ignored him. I consider myself a strong girl but this heart of mine brings me down. I saw an unoccu-pied Toyota, I sat on the bonnet and cried. The Night train was diffusing into my blood at a fast rate.
I saw Acho and his chic walk pas-s. She gave me a frown while Acho limped beside her. Toun and Abayomi found me where I sat.
Abayomi: omo igbo, why are you here alone na?
Me: nothing, I just want to be alone
Toun: where is Timi?
Me: I don’t know
The fool chose that time to come outside with Annie, I saw them before Abayomi and Toun did. Her hands were around her shoulder, he looked happy. Toun immediately c@m£ to hvg me, Abayomi looked down like it was his fault. At that point I started crying again.
Toun led me inside the house, saying I should dance my pain away. But it was a disaster when I noticed Timi and Annie dancing, Toun started dancing with me at the same time blocking the guys trying to come in-between us. The alcohol was taking its tool and I started dancing fas-ter, Toun was enjoying herself, we were giggling.
Then Toun st©pped dancing as someb©dy was finally able to come between us. I wondered who had the mind to encroach on her space when I saw it was Jafar.
For a guy that had a mystical feel to him, I couldn’t imagine him dance , talk less of dancing with me. I was probably not the only person surprised because it seemed that people st©pped dancing to watch us dance. I was shy to dance wildly like I usually did, so I was a bit slow. I noticed the eyes that were fixated at us, I was shy. I was shy until his hands encircled my waste. My h!ps moved to his t©uçh, he wasn’t smiling or had his mouth opened like guys usually did when they were dancing with a girl. We danced like we were royalty..
Jafar: you declined having dinner with me because of this p@rty?
Me: yes…I had to come, but you had plans of coming too?
Jafar: I changed my mind, Aisha and Uche once d@t£d.
Me: oh…I never knew…
I started having fun as we danced and spoke. I got envious glances from the girls I had seen him with earlier.
Me: not seen you in a p@rty around before
Jafar: I am not a fan of p@rties..
I didn’t want to st©p dancing but he did after a while.
Jafar: thanks for dancing with me
Me: the plea-sure is all mine, Jafar.
Toun was wi-nking at me when I walked to her,Abayomi was standing behind her, dancing to her bu-m even though she didn’t move.
Toun: he likes you
Me: who?
Toun: Jafar. Timi couldn’t detach his eyes from you.
I felt tinny winny happy. The Alcohol was taking its effect. I had finished the drink in the bottle, even though the ponch was still in my system.
Me: I want to go home.
Toun : but the p@rty just started..i want to eat barbeque.
Me: Abayomi I want to go home.
Abayomi: go and meet Timi na, I am with my chic.
Me: May God punish you, idiot.
Abayomi stuck out his ton-gue.
Sometimes I do strange things that I cannot explain. One of those things was walking to Jafar that evening and sitting beside him. I looked at him and wanted to talk but ended up resting my head on his shoulder..
Jafar: you want to leave this p@rty?
Me: yes
Jafar: where do you want to go to?
Me: Abuja..loooool..
I joked.
I laughed as once again I rested my head on his shoulder..it felt so much like home.
When I woke up, it took me a while to get to my s-en-ses. I was still high though. Everything was blurry. I was in a car and Jafar was driving. I dozed off..
When I opened my eyes again, he was still driving, he didn’t know I was looking at him as his eyes were fixed on the road. The road didn’t look familiar, I wanted to talk but I sle-pt off again. Opening my eyes again, he was still driving. Ah ahn.. my house no far like this na..
Me: Jafar whatsup?
Jafar: hey, you have woken up..
Me: how long did I sleep? Last I remembered, was walking to your car..
Jafar: like 5hrs…yes..you sle-pt off immediately we got in.
Me: where are we going to, I don’t know this road and why should you be driving for 5 hrs?
Jafar: I am just obeying you..
Me: obeying me how?
Jafar: you wanted to go to Abuja
Me: oh my God!!!!!!!!!!!!
Which type of guy obeys a drun!kgirl, takes her to a state so far from Ogun in the middle of the night..?
Jafar: relax
Me: how can you tell me to relax?..turn back right away..
Jafar: its 4am, we have been driving for 6hrs, we are in Akoko Ondo…in four hours time, we would be in Abuja. U rather we go back?
Me: yes!
Jafar: alright..
He swerved to the right of the road and parked. That was when I noticed the Volvo in front and the Hilux at our back. We were in the middle of a three man convoy to Abuja. This Jafar dey kolo o!..
Sparrow was the first to get to us, he was the guy pinned to follow me around.
Sparrow: Jaf, we-tin do your car?
Jafar: nothing o, we nee-d to head back?
Uche c@m£ down from the Hilux and joined Sparrow at Jafar’s side of the car.
Uche: mehn…sleep dey catch me o…we are less than 2hrs from Lokoja, I dey feel say we go rest for there o..
Sparrow: I swear! Hungry dey catch me sef, Jafar make we reach Lokoja first na, we fit return for morning.
Jafar: if we get to Lokoja, then we will have to get to Abuja. If we are going to turn back, we turn back now.
Another guy c@m£ down from Uche’s Hilux, short guy with a funny gap tooth..
Me: I’m sorry guys, I thought Jafar was taking me home.
They didn’t reply, but I felt it would be selfish of me to f0rç£ them to continue driving.
Jafar: so what do you say ma’am?
Me: Abuja it is!…but what are we going to do there?
Uche: no be u say Abuja?…i don tire o!
Jafar: we will just hang out dear.
I fought back the fear. I never thought for one second I will be on my way to Abuja with Four Confa guys..chai…Alcohol na B—–d.
Me: Abayomi and Toun will be scared
Jafar: you will call them..
Me: no problem, I hope you return me in one piece..
The short ugly guy had a sm-irk on his face, I wanted to sl@p him but my liver no reach.
Jafar: lets bounce..
As we proceeded with the journey, the only cars that pas-sed by us were Luxurious buses. The Volvo remained in front, while the Hilux c@m£ from the rear. The AC of his car was the truth!..no wonder I kept dozing off..James Blunt’s “u’re beautiful” was pla-ying in his car Cd pla-yer. If I wasn’t in a weird situation, I would have found this very ro-mantic. With my seat belt in place, my eyes were involuntarily closing, but before I sle-pt, I wanted to say something.
Me: Jafar?
Jafar: Tana?
Me: you are the weirdest guy eva…
I sle-pt looking at the smile across his dark face and his well-trimmed goatee..
