Episode 17

“Why do you want to know?” ju-icy mumbled putting the br@celet back on her wrist.

Ryan felt a burn around his palm so he slowly ru-bbe-d it against his p@n-ts to ease the pain.

“Would you just tell me?” He asked irritated.

“Well, it is a gift from my grandmother.” She replied glaring at him.

“Oh, I see…” He whispered as the burn in his palm increa-sed.
It hurt like hèll and he wasn’t crying because the boyish p@rt of him won’t permit that.

“Fine, I’ll see you later.” He said and walked away.

ju-icy sighed and headed to the girl’s dorm.

“Do you think Spike likes me?” Astrid asked lying lazily on her be-d and staring towards the ceiling.
That was the first thing she asked ju-icy when she walked past her be-d.

“What?! Why are you asking me that?” She panicked going closer to her.

“He just got me flowers and kept me company. I don’t know, ju-icy but I feel like I like him too.” She whispered so the other girl’s would not hear her.

“You like him too? What makes you think he likes you?” ju-icy asked wordlessly.

“I just told you he got me flowers, silly.” She stated looking perplexed.

“I don’t know what his intentions are but we have to be very careful around them. We ba-rely know those j£rks.” ju-icy remarked remembering the ph0tos Spike showed her the other day. Astrid without clothing and how they dumped her at a lonely area.

They’re definitely strange and heartless.

“Fine, I’ll stay away from him. Besides, the school rules are strictly against d@t!ng. I’ll be in big trouble if I d@t£ him.” Astrid replied thinking way ahead of the situation.

“And now… My personal as-sistant is missing. How plea-sant.” The new principal, King’s complained pacing around his office.

His workers he hired were going to start with repainting the school and installing the c@m£ras soon and he wanted Mandy to watch over it but she wasn’t around to oversee things.

Unfortunately, he will have to do it himself, he declared and quic-kly dressed casually so he doesn’t get too h0t outside in his suit.

*******

Ryan and his friends decided to meet up in the restroom this time around since many workers were all over the school.

“They got c@m£ras. He wants to install it everywhere.” Justin said with clenched fists. This was bad. Very bad.

“And they designed new uniforms which will be in use next month. Unfortunately, it won’t be having pockets.” Darrell muttered.

“What?! That’s horrible, what the heçk is wrong with this new guy?” Spike quizzed irritated.

“Don’t worry, we’ll pay him a little visit soon. He will change his mind about all of his crazy plans. Especially trou-sers not having pockets.” Ryan said and they chuckled. “I’ll handle him. Spike, I saw you with Astrid. What the héll are you planning now with her?” Ryan asked him with an intense gaze.

“I like her and I nee-d a weakling to mess with whenever I want. Don’t worry, I won’t ruin anything.” Spike replied wearing a smug on his face.

“Remember, we don’t want to hurt anyone. I say you stay away from her.” Ryan said rolling his eyes.

“Justin, since you are the smart one, help me find out about this… My hand is roasted.” Ryan said icily. He showed him his palm which had red marks of burns.
“I want to know what can harm a vampire like this. Something native, a n£¢klace or beads. Anything at all.” He gr-unted not wanting to tell them about the discovery with ju-icy . Her br@celet f—king burnt him.

*******

King’s was sitting on a chair and tapping on his phone. The painters and electricians were working right before him.
He had been watching them before he got bored.

“Sir…” Ryan said standing before him.
Principal King’s looked up with a grimace.
“It’s you…” He mumbled and Ryan was glad he remembered him.

“Sir, I think you should…” And then his eyeba-lls dug into his. Compelling him with his words and telling him exactly what he wanted him to do. “….So, tell them to ditch the c@m£ras and go and you’ll forget why you ever nee-ded c@m£ras and why they should go ahead anyway. You would also forget that I was ever here and talking to you at this minute.”

By the time he was done, Principal King’s was alre-ady delirious from his hypnotic words. He nodded his head completely delusional.

Ryan walked away before he could do what he ordered him to do.
He got up and asked the electricians to leave and not to install the c@m£ra.
Half of their problem, solved!
But to Ryan, he has a feeling it was temporary..

— MIDNIGHT —

The door to the girl’s dorm opened with someone walking in slowly towards ju-icy ‘s be-d.

She was fast asleep and didn’t notice the person take off her br@celet from her wrist.

Episode 18

The morning started smooth for Astrid when Spike showed up with a little box of chocolate for her. She couldn’t refuse since she has never been treated this nice by a guy, so why would she mess up the chances?

She accepted it with shaky hands feeling uneasy.

“How… How were you able to get this, tho?” She asked with her head still lowered.

“I have my ways.” He replied with a wi-nk.

“Thank you.” She muttered looking up to see ju-icy and Heather approaching her.

“See you later.” He told her before walking away leaving her speechless.

“Oh… Astrid is way pas-s our league now! She’s got a b©yfri£nd.” Heather squealed whispering the last s£ntence.

“Oh, shut it Heather! I still don’t know what got him to start talking to me.” Astrid said, her words coming off, eerily.

“What’s that in your hand? Did he get that for you?” ju-icy asked fear written all over her face.
She really nee-ded to warn Spike to leave Astrid alone.

She hates that she’s dragged into this and she still can’t tell her what’s going on.

“Yes, a box of chocolate.” Astrid replied putting it into her backpack while her friends stared.

“Changing the t©pic, let’s talk about how we are going to pas-s our final Exams! I really can’t wait to be free from the walls and gates of Flory High!!” Heather fake cried earning laughing chills from Astrid.

“Yeah, I heard about the re-lease of the time table. I hope I have enough time to re-ad.”
With all these going on, ju-icy sank in her thoughts.

“Relax, girls. Nothing will hold us back from pas-sing. Just a few weeks and we’ll graduate from highschool. I’ve always wondered how the prom would be.” Astrid stated gleefully.

Heather began replying to Astrid but ju-icy was too busy thinking about what she has been throu-gh and what she knows. In few weeks she’ll really leave all these behind and move on. Knowing that her formal school mates were vampires.
Totally bizarre.

*******

“Should we destroy the br@celet?” Justin asked as Ryan paced around the libr@ry. He accompanied Justin so he could study more about objects like that and now that he knew what it was.
He can’t conceal his shock.

“No.” He finally replied and st©pped pacing.
This was it. The reason he couldn’t seem to compel her. Her grandmother must be scared of vampires for her to hang this down to her granddaughter.

No doubt.

“No? But if you give it back to her, she will… be aware of us. She’s not going to forget, you know.” Justin said stunned with his response.

“Let her have it back. It must be ‘special’ to her grandma. I don’t want to bring curses upon myself. She can have her stup-id br@celet, she has been good. There’s no nee-d to tame her now.” He replied and held out a piece of thick clothe. He carefully gr@bb£d the br@celet with it and left the libr@ry.

*******

It was time for night prep and the students were all in the libr@ry studying. ju-icy was sitting alone at a corner surrounded with so many textbooks.
A hunch in her kept telling her she’d fail the exam and she couldn’t help but scramble over the words. Sinking them in as fast as she could.

Heather and Astrid were seated with their study group friends. ju-icy couldn’t be join them since she couldn’t keep up with how quic-k they think. It got too intimid@t!ngthat she decided to make a team with just herself in it.

After some minutes, she felt someone coming close to her and she looked up with sleepy eyes to see Ryan standing above her.

He quic-kly stooped sitting next to her.

“Alone much?” He asked like he was irritated.

“I re-ad better when I’m alone.” She blurted though she wasn’t quite sure about that.

“Seems like you’ve forgotten about this.” Ryan said calmly bringing out the br@celet. He dropped it on ju-icy ‘s note book and she took it ba-rely surprised.

“I didn’t forget. I knew you were the one who took it. Why did you return it anyway?” She asked putting it back around her wrist.

“What?! You knew??” He asked unable to hide his astonishment.

“Yes, why not? I thought about it, why would any normal student in their right mind steal my ûgly looking br@celet? Then I quic-kly remembered, yes! The four horrible vampires that keeps bothering me.” ju-icy replied rolling her eyes.

“You little twerp.” Ryan cussed un-der his breath but ju-icy pretended not to have heard him.

“I’m thirsty. Don’t go anywhere. Watch my books for me, would you?” She said standing up to her feet. She ran off right before he could respond.
Ryan slowly lowered his eyes to his p@n-ts.

“I don’t know why I feel like getting ti-ght with her.” Ryan’s lvstful voice said remembering her uncovered b©dy she saw the other day.

What was wrong with him? She hàted this girl. But he still bears being in the same atmosphere with her.
Maybe this would end if he’s able to feel her. Just once and it would be happening tonight.
