“Isn’t she taking long as it is? Its best that you go and check on your wife “the king said as he kept on eating his food while Louis and his grand mother sat, their appetite ruined as it is.
“Are you really going to be like this? Can’t you see that this is a disaster as it is?”Gladys asked her son who didn’t even gave her a glance.
“What’s a disaster mom,it all turned out fine”the king replied which annoyed Louis.
“Fine! If this is how everyone will be sharing their dinner every single day, then this is certainly a disaster”Gladys said again
“I thought you would also be adding that you wouldn’t be interested in coming to any one of the dinner again”The king said
“That’s what you will want right? Well you won’t be having that satisfaction “She said and left the table angrily
“What? Aren’t you going to meet your wife?”The king said you Louis who just sat there starring at his food
“Have never seen grand ma angry? This must be a lot of problem for her”Louis said softly
“Then you have to do it right, stop making it a problem for every one around you and just do it right, you have made her your wife, so make sure she keeps on being one”The king said
“I plan on getting a divorce once I am crowned”Louis said only for his father go hit the table.
“You will do no such thing”He said starring at the surprised Louis
“But we all know the circ-umstance of this marriage, Sharon and I …..”
“I don’t care if you two aren’t in love, you are now married and you nee-d her to have the crown and every other thing in life and until I say so, you can’t ever divorce her okay “he said and still reeling from his father behaviour, he got up and left the room, wondering why his father is suddenly acting this way.
“Sure you wouldn’t change your mind mom?”Sharon asked as she walk her mother to the door with two guards following them.
“Is this really necessary?”Suzanne asked the two guards who were watching them.
“It is ma’am, we have to protect her highness”the guard said
“Just hearing you address her that way gives me goose bumps”Suzanne muttered at the guards while Sharon smiled
“Just leave them alone, they have to do their do job”Sharon said to her mom who gave her that apprehensive look again.
“Why don’t you let us go,if you come with me tonight, we can leave for the city and stay away from this darn town”Suzanne whispered at her
“Mom, am now married to…..”
“And since when did you think about this marriage stuff, you never wanted it, you only got married because of me and so it’s only right for me to get you out of this mess, Gladys had made it clear to me that you don’t have to live together, she told me that you two can continue your life with out even seeing each other, I had been a fool who believed her words”Suzanne said with so anxiety.
“I can’t leave Mom, I already made a promise to Louis, he nee-ds my help and I ……”
And I just can’t leave him hanging, disasapointing him will make me feel sad.she thought those words to her self.
“And you what? Don’t tell me that you are feeling some thing for him”Suzanne asked
“Of course not mom,it’s nothing like that”She replied
“Then why are you suddenly defending him, just a few days ago, you were so bent on hating him”Suzanne said
“I feel that I owe him mom”She said
“Owe him what?”her mother asked
“He saved me today mom, if it weren’t for him, I would have been dead by now mom”She said remembering the horrors of earlier.
“Am sorry that I wasn’t there for you my child, forgive me “Suzanne said taking her hand.
“It’s okay mom. what matters most is that am okay and you also know the reason why have decided to stay and that’s because I want to repay Louis back, try to un-der stand that mom”Sharon said
“Fine! I will let you stay here but remember these two things, do not ever fall for Louis, I have my reasons and so you have to listen to me and also when things get ha-rd for you, just come to me my child, I will do my best to help you okay”she said and Sharon could only nod in response.
Unknown to them Louis stood not so far away listening to their conversation.
He already heard what he wanted to and so he turned back in search of his grand ma.
He had been doing that when he saw Sharon and her mother talking and decided to stay to listen to them.
He found his grand ma right where he knew she would be, she has left the table in anger and that had been because she was angry, some thing that rarely takes place.
She was at his mother’s chambers, some where he rarely comes to.
“Why are you here grand ma, from what I un-der stand, you gave birth to my father not my mother”He said trying to cheer her up a bit but it didn’t help at all, it only dampen her mood
“Cause your mother was like the daughter I never had”she softly and that made him remember his mother.
“At least you apart from Mary and I are the one who misses her”Louis muttered softly as he stared around.
“You must never forget the vow you made to your mom Louis. you have to promise me that”she said holding his hand
“I never did grand ma” he replied
“I do hope so, I hope you never ever forget that”she said taking a de-ep breath.
He remembered some thing that Suzanne told Sharon and decided to bring the subject up
“Why do you insist on me and Sharon not falling in love, it’s not that I intend to fall for her, I don’t fancy her and I never will but I don’t un-der stand why you keep on warning me off her “He asked and she gave him a smile in return.
“You won’t un-der stand, it’s not some thing you can un-der stand now, I can’t tell you why, all I can tell you is that you should only see Sharon as some one who is helping you not as any thing else, promise me that!”Gladys said taking her hand in his.
“Wake up! Wake up my child”Nina could hear a woman voice calling onto her, waking her from the dream she just had and when she finally opened up, she saw her grand ma starring at her.
“Just like I suspected, your memory was wiped off”She said as she put back her stuff
“Memory?”Nina asked starring at her grand ma
“Ever since the day I ask you to bring back a hair of Louis, you have been acting strange, you didnt remember what we had talked about and you seemed different, you never talked about the crown prince and Sharon, I guessed some thing might have happened but I never thought that it must be you losing your memory”She said
“I didn’t lose my memory, I never did “Nina said
“You did,what was the last thing you did recently?” She asked
“I don’t…I don’t remember”Nina replied
“What was the last thing I asked of you?”Her grand ma asked
“I…you told me to get a bit of Louis hair ”
“And after that?”she asked
“I…..I don’t remember… what’s wrong?”Nina asked
“On the day I asked you to get Louis hair, you witnessed some thing which got them wiping your memory”Her grand ma said and as if that was the only thing Nina was waiting for she remembered the whole incident of that day.
Every thing began to come back to her and she stared at her grand ma in shock
“I did see some thing, I witnessed Louis marking Sharon and then …after then I just didn’t remember it again”Nina said
“That’s because they got rid of your memory Nina but I manage to get it back for you, they must have gotten rid of it because they are hiding some thing and that has to do with what happened that day” Nina grand ma said
“It has to do with Sharon marking, I can bet that they also made her forget it, what about I make her remember, what do you think grand ma?”Nina asked
“My grand daughter is finally back!” She asked giving Nina a evil smile

One last wave at her mom who was being driven off in the car , Sharon head back into the house.

With every thing that have happened, she didn’t even think about where she she would be sleeping for the night.
She was now heading back to her chambers when she noticed the garden.
She went to it and liking the peace and quiet of it,she sat down on an empty bench and gaze at the moon which shone brightly into the flower.
“Finally, I have you to my self”Harvey said suddenly behind her.
Sharon turned to see Harvey starring at her, she had been aiming for a quiet time alone and now some one else from the royal family is here to bother her.
“If you don’t mind Harvey, I would like to be alone”she said softly
“If I had been in Louis position would you be saying that?”He asked as he moved towards her
“But you aren’t in his place Harvey and i certainly wouldn’t be saying any thing even if you were in Louis position, I myself don’t want to be here at all”Sharon said and some how she could feel that she didn’t mean that word.
Some few days back she might have said those words with a lot of confidence but now the confidence isn’t there again.
“Then i can help you, let me help you get out of here, you don’t want this marriage right?”he asked looking anxious
“Why? Why do you want to help me leave, you are Louis brother, you should……”
“We aren’t related Sharon, I hate Louis just as much as he hates me and I have no idea just how long I can keep up with him in this house, you also can’t keep up with him right? You hate him, so why not just take up my offer and leave “Harvey asked again
Sharon stared at him wondering why he was offering to help her leave, what is he really after, she thought.
When his mother had asked her that question during dinner, she had been sure that Harvey had been expecting her to give another answer and that he had been disasapointed when she finally spoke up.
“Give me a reply Sharon! Tell me that you want to leave this place, tell me that you don’t want to have any thing to do with him, just tell me”Harvey said this, now standing very close to Sharon, holding her hand
“I think it’s time you stop with your useless persuasion”Louis said behind them and they both turned to stare at him.
“And who told you that it’s useless, am known for my persuasion Louis and you know that when I set my mind to some thing,I achieve it”Harvey said pulling Sharon into his arms
“You can try that else where but when it comes to my wife,you shouldn’t even dare” Louis said as he pulled Sharon away from him
“You really are asking for it Louis, you know how I am when ever am angry, you better dont get me more angry cause I can be very scary”Harvey said
“Save your threats for some one else, am not in the mood for it Harvey, all I will tell you now is to leave my wife alone, she is mine now and that won’t ever change”Louis said and began to pull Sharon off
“You keep on calling her your wife and yet you lie to her, I wonder what will happen when she knows the truth you have been hiding”Harvey said softly .
“You better shut up before I do some thing to you Harvey”Louis said
“You think am scared, am not scared of your meaningless threat and your secret will be exp-osed,I will make sure of that, that I promise you”Harvey said but Louis was already pulling Sharon away.
“Louis, Louis, please let go…you are hurting me”Sharon said as she tried to free her hands from his but he wouldn’t let go.
He didn’t let go until they got to the palace infirmary.
“What’s wrong with you? “Sharon asked as she held her sore hand some thing Louis didn’t even notice.
“You didn’t have to talk like that to Harvey and besides we weren’t doing…..”
“You were Sharon! You gave me your word and yet you….you…..” He stopped to breathe in the fresh air coming from the window.
“You gave me your word and yet you were about to go with him, if I hadn’t….if I hadn’t showed up you would have chosen to go with him “Louis said
“You are wrong about that Louis”Sharon replied softly
“Am not wrong okay! Am not a fool,don’t take me for one Sharon, that is what I hate most in my life. You have always made it clear to me that you don’t care about me or the marriage, you hate me and that’s enough reason for you to choose to leave with Harvey”He said
“I don’t know what happened to you to make you judge people with out listening to their explanation or any thing else but what I do know is that I wasn’t going to leave, I do keep my promises Louis and so you can put your mind at rest, j won’t escape, after all am your wife and I…..”
“You will act like one, staying by my side and being the perfect couple is the only thing I nee-d, I don’t nee-d your pity Sharon”He said softly
“Pity? What does pitying you have to do with this”Sharon asked
“It has a lot to do with it , I heard your conversation with your mom earlier, I don’t want you pitying me all I want from you is your Co operation in this, don’t think about escaping, I will let you go when the time come,bear with me until that time”He said and walked off.
Sharon stood starring at him.she doesn’t pity him, any time he is close to her she doesn’t even think pitying at all.
But some thing still intrigues her, what was Harvey talking about a while ago, what secret is Louis hiding from her, Sharon thought as she walked into the infirmary.
Louis got back to the garden knowing that Harvey would still be there waiting for him.
Harvey was standing beside the rose flower, he smiled when he saw Louis coming.
Louis got to him and pulled him by the collar, starring at him with so much anger.
“Just what are you up to?”Louis asked
“Trying to get back my bride from you”Harvey said
“And do you think you will be able to achieve it by being this way?”Louis asked
“Of course, I don’t know what you have said to Sharon or what you did to her but I do know one thing that once she knows that you were the monster who made her part of us. She would certainly loathe you and would want to leave and then I will be there to help and who knows,I might also get to have the throne and Sharon by my side”Harvey said
“Do you think that by telling Sharon the truth , it will get you to have her, you are wrong Dear brother and besides, this won’t do at all, I doubt if Sharon will leave me because of the marking, you see, she is happy with her new identity”Louis lied softly and that wiped off the smile on Sharon face
“So save your self the time and mind your darn business, what ever you say or do won’t get you Sharon because I already have her, be a man and accept that you lost, you weren’t man enough”Louis said pushing Harvey away and then he stormed off.
Harvey stood in the garden alone, thinking about Louis last words.
All his life he has always wanted to beat Louis, always wanted to be in Louis place but that never happened and then the only thing which he could call his own was also taken by Louis, he really would like to…..
“Sulking all alone won’t get you what you want ” some one said behind him and he turned to find his father there
“Why are you here your majesty?”Harvey asked
“I over heard your conversation with your brother, you want to know why you haven’t been able to surpas-s him no matter what you do?”his father asked
“It’s because you prefer him than me”Harvey replied
“Wrong? It’s because you are scared of him, you try to show that you aren’t scared but it shows that you are scared and that alone is destroying you and also taking away the things you wish for”The king said
“If you want to have those things Harvey, you have to stop being scared and do things even if it means endangering your self, that’s the only way to win your brother my dear son, that’s the only way”The king added as he gently tou-ched his head.
