Dressed and ready for the day, Sharon walked down stairs.
She could see her mother hovering at the sitting room looking worried.
What happened yesterday still troubled her, never have her mother yelled at her and she was scared when she mentioned the palace, what went wrong? Sharon thought as she walked into her mother view.
“Good morning mom”Sharon greeted
“Have just thought of some thing Sharon, why don’t you continue your studies at the former school?”She asked
“But that is at the city, are we going back there”Sharon asked
“No but I can take you there every morning and then bring you back home too, as you can see, am not that busy with my latest book and so I have all the time in the world “She said
“I don’t want to change school mom and besides this latest book you are talking about is meant to submitted Soon, your editor will make a mince meat out of you if you are not on time”She said
“But Sharon I…..”
“You aren’t ready to tell me what is really going on and I wont ask you about it, I will be going to school now and don’t worry, I will stay away from the king daughter”She added
Her mom only knew about her being close to Mary but she doesn’t know that she is close to the son as well.
Close! She isn’t close to Louis and she never will be just as she has promised her mom, she will keep her distance.
She got to a school a bit late and while she was heading in, she ran into Nina.
“Have you heard?”Nina asked suddenly
“Heard what?”Sharon asked as she stared at Nina
“That Louis has taken his prospective bride to see his father”Nina said looking a bit down
“And what next? Has her identity been known?”Sharon asked
“Well that is what every one is sceptical about? I thought he was interested in me,I thought he would make me his bride but then he had to know who is other half is and now that he has taken her to his father, there is no turning back”Nina cried out
“What do you mean by no turn back?”Sharon asked
“When a guy takes his prospective bride to his parents and if they are both given his parents blessing then she would be his bride no matter what!”Nina said
“What!!!” Sharon yelled out and every one turned to stare at her.
“It’s not some thing to yell about! It’s just the way of life around here, you are new, you won’t un-der stand “she said as she kept walking off.
This can’t be happening! Mary isn’t here to explain more of this to her but Louis and she will certainly get her answer right now! She thought as she bid a quick fare well to Nina and began to run into school ahead of her.
Nina stood starring at Sharon who had already disappeared amongst the other students.
“So it’s you!”She muttered as she kept on starring at the school front door until she heard the bell.
With out knocking, Sharon walked into the room as-signed for the use of the Lord’s of the school.
She was glad when she saw Louis sitting on the chair, starring at the ring in his hand.
“Judging by you being here, then you must have heard!”he said
“Yes I did and am very angry, you made it clear that it would only be for a while and Nina told me some thing you left missing yesterday”She said
“And what would that be?” He asked

“Once a guy takes home his prospective bride to his parents then there is no yy]jhh}p}p back, tell me if that is true”She said waiting for his reply and hoping that it would be the latter
“What do you want to hear, the truth ?”He asked trying to play with her.
“Don’t mess with me Louis, you promised me that nothing will ever bring us together, that you will distance yourself “she said
“And you believe that lie?”He asked
“What?”
“You actually believe that I will stay away from you, my prospective bride?”he asked
“Am not your prospective bride, am nothing to you Louis “She said
“Yes you are! “he yelled at her and she flinched starring at him
“For years now, have never been able to know who my other half is, I even thought I was destined not to have one but then you came, you are my other half Sharon”He said starring at her.
“You are saying nonsense, am no one bride and Remember I don’t even possess that darn ring “She said as she began to move away from him
“Because you are not one of us…..”
“I keep on hearing that word and sick of it already….why do you all keep on saying am not one of you…..forget it, I don’t want to know, I must have been crazy to have believed that you would keep your word and stay away “She said as she turned to leave.
She didn’t know how it did it and it made her wonder how he got so fast to the door.
He was just behind her, she thought as she stared at him in alarm.
“We nee-d to talk Sharon! “he said
“Get out of the way, I don’t want to talk ”
“But I do….”
“No you don’t! You only want to use me Louis…you want your father and every one else to believe that you have finally found your bride,I won’t let my self be used and i certainly won’t be in the way of your real bride when she does show up , so do the decent thing and tell every one the truth”She said as she walked past him.
“The truth! The truth is that we nee-d your help!”Mary said suddenly and Sharon turned to see her in the room too.
Has she been hiding there,listening to their conversation? She thought as she stared at the two siblings.
“We nee-d you Sharon”Mary added again
“nee-d me for what? “she asked
“Louis is right when he says that he has been unable to find his other half but when you showed up, his ring suddenly changed…..”
“You told me Cleary that when some one prospective bride is around them their ring changes but I doubt that in his case”She said starring at Louis hand
“That is some thing we aren’t clear on yet Sharon but it is the truth, it has only reacted to you and it’s you we nee-d or else Louis will thrown off the throne and that is some thing we can’t allow to happen because. …..”
“That’s enough Mary”Louis said cutting her off.
Sharon had found her self drawn to what Mary was saying but then she stopped when Louis cut her off abruptly
“You don’t have to tell her the sordid detail of our family”He said arrogantly and that angered Sharon
“But Louis she has……”
“Don’t bother about it Mary, I don’t think I want to listen to it again, I have made my decision as it is and that is a no, I won’t join hands with you to create a lie, find some one else, as it is have been warned to stay away from you guys”She said and left the room with out a back ward glance.
“You have runined it once again Louis! Great job”Mary said as she sat on the chair feeling defeated
“Am not used to begging some one and you were the one that brou-ght this ridiculous idea up”Louis said
“What’s ridiculous? I only asked you to let’s convince her to play the act till we don’t have to do it, at least till your Coronation day”She said
“We could have gotten another way”Louis said
“And what other way can you think of….as I can remember have been the one with the Br@ins in our family”She said
“I will pretend I didn’t hear that and as have said, there is another way and i can tell you that it will work perfectly”He said
“If it will get us what we want, start spilling it”she said smiling up at her hand some brother.
Sharon was still fuming when she got into the rest room.
Just who the hell does he think he is? Just because he is being called the Lord of the school, he acts arrogant.
She has always been turned off by guys who are arrogant.
But were they really serious about her helping them stage a lie, she can’t do it and she was scared, scared that Louis might for-ce her.
“You really are a fool ,why did you accept to do it In the first place, now you won’t be able to get out of it”She muttered to her self as she stared at her reflection in the glas-s
“You will be able to get out of it”A familiar voice said and she turned to see Nina standing in one of the toilet starring at her
“What do you mean?”
“I can help you, to get Louis out of your way, you are scared of him right? Am willing to help you as long as you help me in return,what do you say Sharon”Nina said softly, giving Louis her a twisted smile.
