Zachary stood before Goldsax in Goldsax’s study. It wasn’t the first time Goldsax was calling him to his study but Zachary wasn’t comfortable with that one. Goldsax squee-zed a pen that was lying on the table, the way he always did whenever he was angry and Zachary knew something was definitely wrong.
“Ever thought of your family whenever you try doing some things?” Goldsax asked without offering him a seat
Zachary’s countenance changed. He knew that whenever Goldsax talked about his family that way, then he wanted to blackmail him into doing something. Zachary kept mute and Goldsax went on.
“The life of you father, mother, and sister, lies in my hand and what you should be doing is obeying me and being loyal so they’ll be fine and not going behind my back”
Zachary still didn’t say anything
Goldsax turned on the projector and Zachary stared at the wall screen.
“Do you know her?” Goldsax asked as Charlotte appeared on the screen. She was crying and pleading with a man who was wh!pping her with a wh!p.
“Goldsax st©p him plea-se” Zachary cried out in pain
“That depends on how fast you obey me now because Rain, definitely can’t stand a woman”
“Don’t let him f0rç£ himself on her, I beg you”
Goldsax cli-cked his ton-gue and shook his head “he won’t listen unless you tell me where I can find Terry and Amberle”
Zachary’s heart sank “I don’t know” he stuttered, not even confident in the lie he was telling
Goldsax sm-irked “Oh! Really?” he drummed his f!ngerson the table then increa-sed the volume of the video so Zachary could hear Charlotte’s screams louder
“St©p him alre-ady! I really don’t know” Zachary yelled closed to tears
Goldsax slumped on his chair and crossed his legs on the table “tell me alre-ady if you really love your sister”
“Goldsax I swear, I don’t know. I wasn’t in the penthouse when they got away”
Goldsax shook his head “Your sister Zachary Rodolfo” he called his name in full
“Goldsax remember what you taught me when I first started working for you?” Zachary asked and went on without waiting for a reply “you said that when and enemy comes in the first thing he does is create division”
“i agree” Goldsax said “so who’s the enemy here?”
“Georgia”
“when did Georgia become an enemy and besides, what does she have to do with this?”
“she told you about this and you’ve totally forgotten about your suspicions”
Goldsax pointed to the projector “she might be dead before you return and if she does, then your dear mom is next”
Tears tricked down Zachary’s cheeks “I don’t know where they are, you got to believe me”
“well I don’t. So tell me something else”
Charlotte screamed louder and Zachary’s heart skipped a beat “st©p him plea-se”
“You’re the only one who can st©p him” Goldsax said and swindled his chair around “but you’re taking forever to save her”
“why should you be believing Georgia? That girl is obsessed with her ex”
“What girl?”
“Georgia. She’s Terry’s ex fiancée and she’s still crazy about him. Few days ago, she told me to tell her where Terry and Amberle were but I really didn’t know and that’s why she lied to you about me”
Goldsax stared at him thoughtfully like he was thinking about what Zachary had said. He drummed his car key on the table then began “I don’t know what you’re saying but if I were you…” he glanced at the projector “I’ll be bent on saving my sister” he stated and walked out, leaving Zachary behind.
Zachary remained in the study, watching the projector in tears. Charlotte’s screams were breaking his heart and it killed him to know he was the reason for her pain. He waited till he was sure Goldsax was out and he wouldn’t meet him on his way out, then he walked out of the study.
Zachary walked outside and met Georgia in the front porch. She was lounging near the rail with a glas-s of orange jui-ce held between her index and middle f!nger. Zachary ignored her and hurried out. Georgia bur-st into an outrageous laughter when she saw him rush into his car. Zachary’s eyes burned in rage as he watched her from the windscreen. Zachary turned on the ignition and drove out.
Minutes later, arrived at the cottage and placed a call to Terry.
📱… I’m at your door
He ended the call and the door flung open.
“Zac?!” Amberle called and hvgged him
Zachary f0rç£d a smile and wra-pped his hand around her.
Amberle pu-ll-ed away and looked at him. She didn’t notice the way his smile faded and the gloomy look plastered to his face.
“I’m happy you c@m£” she said
Zachary faked a smiled and took her hand “is Terry in?” he asked as they headed inside
“he went to the gym” Terry replied from the living room
Zachary smiled genuinely “Boss”
“you’re the boss here Zac” Terry said
Zachary looked around before he sat down on a couch “you both are having some couple time”
Amberle chuckled “totally not with this bad as-s”
Zachary laughed “How you both doing?”
“Great” Terry replied and Zachary felt pained for what he was going to tell them
“Except you’re not here” Amberle drawled “I can’t believe you’re still working for Goldsax.. Come live here with us”
“If I do, you both won’t be enjoying the privacy you enjoy now”
Amberle blu-shed “There’s no such thing as enjoyment” she said to hide her embarras-sment “you’ve sworn your life to Goldsax”
“not really” Zachary said “but there’s a problem”
Terry sat up straight “what happened?”
“Georgia told Goldsax that I know about your whereabouts and now Goldsax is blackmailing me to tell him where you are”
“How did Georgia know about it?” Terry asked
“That witch managed to find out but I denied knowing. She asked me to arrange a d@t£ for the both of you but I insisted I knew nothing about you so to probably punish with me for refusing, she told Goldsax”
“That witch called me yesterday, she told me to meet her at Reskley Club by 8 but I didn’t show up” Terry said
“you both talked on the phone?” Zachary asked
“she did the talking while I listened. I didn’t even say a word to her till she ended the call”
“what did Goldsax do about it?” Amberle asked Zachary
“he s£nt Rain,his strongest man to wh!pCharlotte and if I don’t tell Goldsax where you are then he’s going to wh!pher to death”
“so what did you tell him?” Terry asked
“I kept denying till now, I haven’t told him the truth”
“Charlotte isn’t strong to endure Rain’s wh!ps call Goldsax now and tell him to st©p him, I’ll show myself to him. I’m not a coward” Terry said
“Terry it’s not just you”
“I know Amberle is involved but we can’t let anything happen to Charlotte”
Zachary face palmed himself in frustration “Goldsax is never going to trust me again. I just don’t want anything to happen to my family”
“Nothing is going to happen to them” Terry promised “just tell Goldsax your were able to reach me on the phone and we’re on my way”
“he’s going to claim Amberle”
Zachary said “he told me she’s his property– legal property”
“I don’t belong to Goldsax” Amberle said
“you have to hurry back now before anything happens to Charlotte” Terry said
“Alright.. I’ll be waiting” Zachary said and hurried out
“who’s Charlotte?” Amberle asked Terry
“Zac’s younger sister”
“Younger sister? He told me she’s his crush”
“she’s not”
“Zac didn’t mention anything about his family to me”
“There’s no time Amberle, I’ll tell you everything in the car” he stated

“… Just for a little while…” Georgia said over the phone “I’m trying my best and it’s really working… They’re too blind… I don’t think so but I’ll check…” she slumped into a chair and crossed her legs “I’m searching, I’ll definitely get something… Alright, tell Jacob to meet me at Reskley h0tel tonight at 9, he knows my room number… Okay, just don’t fail….”
Georgia ended the call and collected a pack of cigarettes from the drawer. She slid out a stick then lighted it with a lighter that was also on the table.
The door opened and Goldsax walked in on her smoking.
“you smoke?” he asked in shock
“that’s what big girls do” she said and stretched the pack of cigarettes to him “want some?”
“no” Goldsax declined “who were you talking with on the phone?”
Georgia wasn’t shaken by his question. She didn’t care if he overhead her call. She threw her cigarette on the floor and stepped on it, squee-zing it un-der her shoe. Then she got up and strode to him.
“I was talking to someone” she said
“I want to know that someone”
“a friend”
Goldsax arched his brows, not convinced with what she said.
“just forget about the call” she sm-irked and k!$$£d him “you’ve being busy lately and I’ve really missed you” she slid her f!ngersdown his che-st and st©pped on his belt “if you’re not busy”
Goldsax smiled and carried her to the be-d.

“why didn’t Zac tell me?” Amberle half yelled when Terry told her everything during the drive
“he didn’t tell anyone, I found out myself” Terry said
“Isn’t there a way to get them out?”
“we don’t know where he kept them”
“I’m so sorry for Charlotte, I hope nothing happens to her”
“Nothing will. I know Charlotte, she’s a strong little woman”
“and your first crush” Amberle tea-sed
Terry glanced at her with a smile “and my first crush but Zac wouldn’t let me go out with his sister”
Amberle chuckled then her smile suddenly faded.
“what’s wrong?” Terry asked
“I’m scared of what Goldsax would do to me”
Terry placed his palm on hers while he drove with the free on.
“You don’t expect me to leave you there”
“you might be f0rç£d to”
“I’m not going to.. You have to trust me”
Amberle nodded and squee-zed his hand lightly “I love you”
Terry smiled “I’m on the steering”
“You ain’t using your mouth to drive are you?”
“maybe I am” Terry grinned and glanced at her “I love you more now than ever Amberle. Your teddy bear really loves you, my sunshine and moon light” he said and tickled her sides
Amberle giggled “you’re driving”
“and I’m noticing how crazy I am right now. Maybe I’ve been drinking too much”
“how?”
“I’ve taken overdose and I’m officially drun!kin love”
Amberle giggled “flatter me more”

Goldsax’s phone rang and he sluggishly opened his eyes. He moved away from Georgia who was still slee-ping on the be-d and stretched his cramped muscles then he reached for his phone on the drawer. It was Zachary calling.

Goldsax ended the call and turned to see Georgia alre-ady awake and staring at him.
“Where are you going?” she asked him
“Terry and Amberle are here”
Georgia sm-irked “I told you Zac knows about their whereabouts”
“and I trusted you” Goldsax said and got out from the be-d
“I’ll come with you”
“let’s go”
Goldsax and Georgia freshened up and got dressed then they headed outside. They got into Goldsax’s car and he placed a call to Rain to st©p before driving to the warehouse.
All the men were alre-ady stationed when they arrived, somewhere positioned outside while others were inside. Zachary was pres£nt but Terry and Amberle hadn’t showed up yet.
“where are they?” Goldsax asked, walking up to Zachary inside the warehouse
“He told me he’s here but I haven’t seen him yet” Zachary replied
Georgia scoffed “I thought you don’t know where they are”
Zachary huffed loudly and looked away.
“Terry?!” Goldsax shouted looking around
“Dad?!” Terry called back and walked out from a corner with Amberle
“You finally showed up” Goldsax sm-irked and looked at Amberle “Dear Amberle”
Terry dragged her closer and ti-ght£ñed their entwined f!ngers.
“I’ve got 70 men surrounding you son…” Goldsax began “all you have to do is let her go and she walks back to me then I’ll decide what to do with you”
Terry looked around and saw the men who had besieged them with their guns re-ady to shoot.
“Terry?!” Amberle called in a whisper
“let’s make a deal Goldsax then I’ll let her go” Terry said
Zachary stared at Terry quizzically. They hadn’t made any plans but Terry didn’t mention reaching a cordial agreement with Goldsax.
“what do you have to say?” Goldsax asked
“tell your men to put down their guns” Terry said
Goldsax scoffed “I know how smart you are but you don’t expect my men to put down their guns”
“why?”
“cause they can’t and moreover, Amberle belongs to me so I don’t nee-d to reach an agreement with you to have her”
Terry glanced at Amberle then back to Goldsax “explain”
“She’s my legal property and you’ve got no right over my properties cause you chose to be wayward like your mother”
“and as an illegitimate son” Terry added
“I don’t care whatever you think Terry but you made a hvge mistake by falling in love with your father’s mistress– a used toy” Goldsax snarled and all the men bur-st into laughter
Amberle bowed her head in shame and bur-st into tears.
“it’s okay.. I still love you” Terry whispered to her
“and you know the worst p@rt son?” Goldsax went on “That woman over there could be nursing your younger sibling in her. You can ask her”
“let me go Terry” Amberle pleaded trying to f0rç£ herself out of his grip
Terry ti-ght£ñed his grip “quiet Amberle, you promised to stay calm” he whispered to her then turned back to Goldsax “there’s nothing wrong with me choosing your mistress Goldsax. After all, you’re getting married to your son’s ex fiancée”
“what do you mean?” Goldsax asked and glanced at Georgia who was standing beside him
“don’t listen to him” Georgia said
“a used toy from the brothel” Terry laughed “and that woman over there could be nursing your grandchild in her or probably an international child. You can ask her”
