I faced the investigators in my office as we went throu-gh the latest news. Murder.
No one expected such in the state hospital but TY showed up when people were distracted and killed Gary Wood, a security guard in the hospital.
No one saw him, the c@m£ras didn’t capture him. Gary Wood was just found dead in his office with TY’s sl-ips hoved in his cold palm– a skull.
“This is bad, the hospital is in panic innocent children and mothers are scared” Sergeant hvgo said
“TY is just like a ghost, no one sees when he goes in or when he gets out it just happen” Mrs Brown the matron of the hospital said
“This criminal has to be brou-ght to book and your crew aren’t helping, innocent people keep dying” Mr Jerry accused
“We’re trying our best Mr Jerry and if you think we aren’t then go after him, no one even knows what he looks like” I half yelled a bit angry
“we found this” Lisa a t©p security in the hospital said proffering me with a small sealed metal
She might be a female but she knows her job.
“where was it found?” I asked staring at the image of a spider
“at the crime scene”
“He had company” Drake, one of my f!nger print boys said
“Gary Wood? ”
“No TY”
“TY never comes with anyone”
“But he did this time, we got different f!nger prints that belonged to more than one person and none matched Gary Wood none also matched past f!nger prints of TY” Drake explained
“So what are you insinuating?” I asked
“Nothing”
“c’mon Drake are you trying to say TY wasn’t behind the murder?” Sergeant hvgo asked
“we have to keep investigating” c@m£ Drake’s reply
I dismissed the crew and started re-ading the report of the crime.
Gary Wood was sh0t but the sound wasn’t heard cause TY used a pillow to block it out. This wasn’t his first victim nor would it be his last. Everyday people keep dying but the questions troubling me are:
Who’s TY?
How does he kill without getting caught?
A knock c@m£ on the door and I hastily closed the file “come in”
Then Joanna Bays, walked in. She was p@rt of the police ph0togra-phers and she just got back from the crime scene.
“Good afternoon Lieutenant” she greeted and I replied with a nod
“What’s new?”
“We found nothing” she replied
I inhaled “How was the investigation?”
“We questioned everyone around including other security guards but no one had anything to say. The CCTV weren’t cut out but there’s no video”
“TY is a devil” I muttered un-der my breath then turned to her “you can go, keep investigating Sergeant hvgo is on it report tomorrow morning”
she nodded and left
I sighed and kept the file in my drawer then I took out another file. Being a detective, I had many cases on my desk. The brutal murder of the Knowles and the mysterious missing of Tyson Knowles. I was yet to solve that. The murder was clean and only a witness can testify that. All our effort to find an old nanny who has all these secrets weren’t futile. No one knows where Tyson Knowles is. if he’s dead or alive.
At the same day, Kaylan Stein got missing and we believe the two crimes are related. kaylan who was 3 then, was the heir to KLS which her father made un-der her name. Kaylan Lea Stein. It is the best sugar factory on the United States. On the day the Knowles were killed, Kaylan went missing and KLS mysteriously got larger. No factory was heard to have been merged with it but it got bigger and knowles, another sugar factory closed down.
Such a mystery.
Lugard Stein didn’t want the public to find out that Kaylan was missing cause everyone wanted the child but no one ever saw her. And if people found out she was missing, the would go in search of the child in other to claim her wealth. Lugard had no other choice than to adopt a new daughter, Keith and placed her as KLS while he did a secret search for Kaylan but there’s no trace of her for the past 18 years and Lugard isn’t losing hope. He believes his daughter is alive somewhere.
I breathed in as I re-ad the report. This was the reason why I bec@m£ a Lieutenant, to find Kaylan.
Now Keith wants to re-open KLS but I know Lugard won’t allow. K isn’t Keith but the world doesn’t know cause when Kaylan was around, she was known as K, no one knew the K stood for Kaylan. Just I, Lugard and his best friend Mr Sam knows Keith isn’t K. My family also knows cause both families are friends from history. Keith also knows she isn’t K in KLS but that’s her greatest dream.

Where’s nanny Celia?
where’s K?
Who killed Margaret Stein, Kaylan’s mother?
If only I had the answer to this.
Just one person does and it’s nanny Celia. I have to find her.

“This is insane how did you kill someone while you were at Nigeria?” Joanna asked in confusion
she just got back from the station where she works as a police Ph0togra-pher.

As they talked, I was just quite as I stared into space
“sat something Tyson, we have to kill whoever is behind this?”
“what if am behind it?”
“it can’t be– you were at Nigeria” James said and I smiled
I can’t tell them the truth. I don’t want this to get bloody. They can be crazy at times and I don’t want fights.
I have my plan
“The person behind this knows about you Tyson and he can blackmail you”
“I got this” I said
“You’re being too secretive” Joanna huffed
“I don’t want to trouble you guys”
“when you told us you had something to do in Nigeria was that your plan? To come over to Canada and kill without telling us?”
“Joanna you can go ahead and believe whatever you want” I seethed and walked out.
I could hear their murmurs but I ignored them and drove off in my car.
I got to the penthouse and pu-ll-ed over in the driveway. I could hear nanny Celia and Jennifer talking. I ti-p toed in and hid at the doorpost while I eavesdropped
“I hate Canada” I heard Jennifer say
nanny Celia chuckled “Canada is fun and lit”
“why do they kill, I never heard of this TY but I so hate him now”
I swallowed
“I don’t hate him” nanny Celia said
“why? you have to hate him”
“Killing goes with the territory”
“are you sure you aren’t TY nanny”
“TY is a guy and am too old for that
I just have the feeling that he had his reasons”
“what reason does he have for man slaughter? am going to recruit into the FBI tomorrow so that I can help them and find him and when we find him, I’ll kill him by myself”
I started coughing
Little Jennifer is talking of killing me
“Mr Cruse” Jennifer called and turned to me
“Hey!”
“when did you get back?” nanny asked
“just now” I replied and walked hurriedly to my room.

I turned to face nanny Celia when Mr Cruse ran upstairs
“Who are his parents?”
“Don’t ask that question when he’s around
you see his parents abandoned him and ran away”
“when will I return to Nigeria?”
She shook her head “I don’t know, maybe you should talk to him later”
I nodded then we faced the TV.
After dinner that day, I had the opportunity to have a little chit chat with Mr Cruse. He was sitting on a couch in the sitting room staring into space and I wondered what he was thinking of.
“Mr Cruse” I called softly but he was too lost in his thoughts
I called several times but he didn’t come out of his thoughts. I turned to go but on a second thought, I decided to tap him.
I moved closer to him and gave him a gentle tap on his shoulder and he j£rked into reality. Then in a swift movement, I was pinned to the wall with a knife on my n£¢k.
“It’s– it’s–” I was scared “it’s Jennifer”
“what do you want?” he asked red eyed still pinning me on the wall with the knife on my n£¢k.
I was so scared seeing how angry he was, I just couldn’t speak. With the knife piercing my n£¢k, I thought I was going to die as I felt blood gushing out of my n£¢k. I silently said my last prayer as I awaited my fate.

After dinner that day, I sat on the sitting as thoughts of how my parents were brutally murdered clouded me. If there was something that made me angry most in my life it’s remembering that day. 18 years ago, I was ten years old.

18 YEARS AGO
I returned from school and my driver helped me down from the car.
“Thanks” I giggled excitedly and proceeded to go in when my nanny held me back
“Good afternoon nanny” I squealed
“shhh” she hushed and pu-ll-ed me to a corner
“what’s wrong?” I asked innocently
She covered my mouth with her palm then we hid behind the window blind and watched.
Lugard Stein and his men surrounded my parents with a gun and made them sign ‘Knowles’ to them so they wouldn’t kill them and me.
“I don’t keep to promises” Lugard sm-irked and pu-ll-ed the trigger
“mummy!” I cried out and my nanny quic-kly covered my mouth
“Find the boy” Lugard said to his men then we ran out.
My nanny took my hands and we ran out of the building. Our guards were lying lifeless on the ground in the compound.
We ran out and hailed down a cab that took us to my nanny’s house.
Few hours later news was heard that Lucy Knowles and Richa-rd Knowles were found dead in there house.
I cried all day and night, my nanny couldn’t console me. The CCTV in the house only captured my nanny but it didn’t capture me so the cops went in search of her so she could testify but she was too scared to come out so we went into hiding.
I met James in the neighborhood and he introduced me to his dad. That was how I began as Regan Cruse a model and TY 💀 an as-sas-sin.
END OF FLASHBACK
I felt someone tap me on my shoulder and the anger in me turned me violent. I whirled around and pinned the person to the wall as I quic-kly pu-ll-ed out a knife and pierced it into her n£¢k. I realized I had taken my anger far when I saw blood trick-ling down her her n£¢k and the tears rolling down that was when I saw that it was Jennifer
What have I done?
I re-leased her then she fell on the floor– too weak to stand
“Are you alright?” I asked taking her in my arms
She simply shook her head in pain and pas-sed out.
FEW MINUTES LATER 🕒
“she’ll be fine the cut wasn’t too de-ep” the doctor as-sured packing up her things in a box
“Thank you doctor”
“I’m off, I’ll call to check on her” the doctor added then left the room
I sat down on the be-d beside Jennifer who was sound asleep.
I can’t believe I hurt her
She has nothing to do with this
I sighed and t©uçh the plaster on her n£¢k
I really hate myself
She moved slightly when I t©uçhed her n£¢k then I quic-kly withdrew my hand.
She moved again and opened her eyes
“Are you alright?” I asked then she nodded and tried sitting up but I held her back “you nee-d to rest”
“I don’t nee-d to rest, I nee-d to go home” she replied coldly and yanked off my hand then relaxed gently on the pillow looking away
I felt guilty but this is the only way to save her. I can’t let her go. Keith is after her and Keith is the type of person who doesn’t st©p till she gets what she wants.
I got up from the be-d and headed for the door
“why did you bring me here? ” she asked when I got to the door and I st©pped on my track without turning to look at her and I didn’t give a reply
“why did you bring me here? What do you want from me?” she asked in tears
I got t©uçhed then I turned to face her.
I just can’t tell her the truth
“just go to sleep”
“plea-se take me back to Nigeria my family nee-ds me”
“am sorry but I can’t” I replied and walked out of the room

I broke down in tears when he left the room. I felt like a captive.
I thought of my poor family
How are they faring?
I nee-d to leave here. My family nee-ds me and the only plan that c@m£ into my mind was to escape. I opened the window and surveyed the surrounding for an escape route. The gate had a security pas-sword so I couldn’t go throu-gh there.
I sighted a door that channeled out.
I had no idea where the door led to but I knew it would take me somewhere. Maybe it’s a secret pas-sage in case of danger.
I decided to use the door but there was no way I could leave without Mr Cruse seeing me unless I used the window.
I searched the room and saw a rope in the drawer. I tied it to the window and climbe-d down. I was scared and the rope really hurt my palms but all I thought at that time was to escape.
I finally reached the ground and made for the door. I saw Mr Cruse in the balcony and I bent and crouched to the door.

I arrived at The Stein’s mansion and got down. I had an appointment with Lugard Stein based on K’s disappearance.
A maid ushered me in then I headed to Lugard’s study. On getting to the door, I heard Lugard arguing with Keith then I st©pped to listen.
“dad” Keith called Lugard
“what’s it Keith?”
“call me K” she demanded
“Keith” Lugard called
“call me K”
“you ain’t K” Lugard hurled
“dad it’s been 18 years alre-ady since Kaylan got missing why won’t you let her go
For goodness sake she might be dead and gone to meet her mum or alive and gone”
“watch your words young lady” Lugard seethed
“am I not enough for you? I’ve been here with you for 18 years but you still care about her
What about me? ” Keith said in fake tears
“Keith I love… ”
“spare me that dad you don’t”
“I really do”
“you’re just using me so the world wouldn’t know your precious daughter is missing”
“Keith….”
“by tomorrow night I’ll re-open KLS as Keith Lea Stein”
“KLS is Kaylan Lea Stein and you aren’t Kaylan you’re Keith…. ”
“that’s why you won’t give me right to her betrothed?” Keith asked and Lugard was thrown aback including I and his friend Sam Owen who was with them in the study
“how did…”
“of course I found out that she was betrothed but you wouldn’t give me that right” Keith cut in
“Keith you ain’t K and the earlier you start accepting that the better for you” Lugard stated
“I’ll go to the press and tell the whole world that am not K then they’ll go after her that’s the best way to accept that am not cause I can’t continue protecting your daughter till the day you’ll find her then she’ll take everything”
“you can’t do that”
“try me dad try me”
“Keith try to un-derstand”
“let me re-open KLS and forget about Kaylan” Keith sneered then stormed out.
As she walked out she bu-mped into me who was at the door
“hey!” she called and walked out
I watched her till she was out of
sight then I entered the study.
“Good day” I shook hands with Lugard and Sam
“Detective” Sam hailed then I sat down
“How’s the investigation going any lead?” Lugard asked
“we’re trying our best”
“Keith is trouble now” Lugard hissed
“I saw the news and I heard your argument” I said
“what do I do? ”
“let her re-open it”
“have you lost hope Lieutenant do you think my daughter won’t be found?”
“I didn’t say so but it’s risky if Keith tell the press she isn’t K, it will cause an uproar and endanger the life of K wherever she is” I replied
“I’ll talk to Keith I’ll talk her out of it
I believe Kaylan is out there somewhere” Lugard said hopefully then we went into the main discussion

“where’s the pay?” I asked tattoo referring to the bargain we had with our client
“here” tattoo replied opening a briefcase before me
“I love clean business” I said menacingly puffing out smoke from my mouth

“boss” she called back and sat on my l@p
“how is it going?”
“we’re still working on it but we’re close to success” she replied and bit my l!plasciviously while she pla-yed with my p@n-t Zi-pper
“Babylon prepare the boys we’re going to kidnap Keith tomorrow night
KLS must be ours” I instructed then walked out with Storm– I nee-d some fun.
I am Cyrus, the leader of the gang Spidax. We’re TY’s greatest competition and we’ll st©p at nothing to bring him down.
We’re still working on a way to get information about him and s£nd it to the cops but it’s difficult. No one knows what he looks like or who his accomplices are because it’s certain he works with someone.
The Spidax is made up of I, as their leader, Storm who is my side chic, Tattoo, Babylon, and Josh.
Our main goal is to bring down TY cause he’s taking our clients then we get KLS. I keep dreaming of owning KLS. It’s everyone’s dream.
We’ll hit tomorrow night and get the princess then KLS would be mine.

We got to my room then I pinned Storm r0ûghly to the wall.
“how do you want it?” she asked se-ductively
“rou-gh” I replied and started ripping off her dress

Nanny Celia served me dinner in be-d and when I was done, she c@m£ for the tray and took it out.
I was thinking about the earlier incident with Jennifer.
I know she hates me now.
I breathed in and la-id on the be-d.
I don’t want to get attached to her but am gradually getting attached.
Am supposed to be at the mansion with the guys but am here.
My conscience keeps blaming me for bringing her here but there’s nothing else I can do. I’ve searched for her family and s£nt my agents to buy then a house and give her parents a comfortable job which they’ll set out for tomorrow but still I have to go and explain things to her. Maybe she’ll un-derstand.
I got down from my be-d and headed for her room. I walked in but she wasn’t in. I knocked on the bathroom door to check if she was in but there was no reply and the shower wasn’t running. I opened the door and walked in but she was no where to be found.
Not in the be-droom
Not in the bathroom
Not in the closet
I went to the kitchen to check for her but nanny Celia said she hasn’t come down since he doctor left.
This means one thing.
She escaped.
