The way Jayson is coming in and out of my life and that of my daughter’s is becoming a concern to me. I just don’t want us to be very close again.
One Sunday I found him in the church and when I asked him why he was here he said he c@m£ to join after all he doesn’t belong to any church as-sembly. And later he asked if he could take us home, I declined but Mom accepted the offer saying that she can’t walk un-der the scrotching sun and when he got us home, Mom asks him to stay for lunch and he didn’t hesitate to say yes.
Things are becoming to get messy as we’re getting closer to each other every pas-sing time.
One day after work I was in the elevator waiting for it to close but he rushed in before the door shuts Itself.
“I received your report. ” He said and God, that was an awkward way to begin a conversation.
“Why are you doing this. ” I ask him without giving him a glance. I was only starring at the ceiling.
“Doing what? ”
“This? Always appearing at every destination that I am. At first I thought it was a coincidence but I can’t keep fooling myself. What are you planning? ” I ask again and he faced me. I could feel his face on me but I didn’t drift my face from the ceiling.
“Why do you think I am planning anything Kathy? The truth is that I love you and I want to always be by you. ”
I allow my face to land on his and there was sincerity and truth.
“What did you say? ” I ask him to repeat it but he didn’t. He was only staring at me.
“Since from high school Katherine I’ve always wanted you but I was afraid because then you only saw me as that lowlife j£rk. I love you Katherine and I want us to be together. ”

As I was about saying something the elevator st©pped and slide open so I had to leave but he dragged me back and lock hisl-ips on mine.

I found myself responding to the k!ssand seconds after he broke the k!ss. I wanted to sma-ck him on the head and take hisl-ips but I’m the lady so let me act like the lady.
“Yes.” I don’t know why I said yes to him immediately bit I think I still want him to k!ssme.
“Are you serious Katrina?! ”
“Katherine and yes, I am serious. ” I said smiling and he su-cked on myl-ips for some seconds before pu-lling me into his embr@ce.
When I got home that day, Lydia looked excited like she won a lottery so I asked her if anything interesting happened in school today and she said no.
“Then what’s ma-king you happy? ” I asked her.
“Been a child. ” She said and giggled to her room. n@ûghty girl.
I put on my fli-p-flops and climb up to my mom’s room. There is this excitement I’m feeling that I can’t just wait to announce to the whole world that I have found someone who loves me and wants my child to be his.
I got in and saw Mom re-ading the Bible. She does that every night and don’t dare interrupt her so I leaned by the door waiting for her to call me in and later on she waved he hand at me to come in and I did.
“Are you just coming back from the office? ” She ask me as I sat next to her on the be-d.
“Yes Mom but that’s not why I am here. I am here to tell you that there is someone who wants to marry me and be the father of my child. ”
“And I love him too. ” I quic-kly added because I know the next thing she’ll say, we’ll go back to Paul.
“Who is he? ”
“Jayson Mom. My boss. ” I said and she lowered the glas-ses on her face to sit on her nose.
“Since when? ”
“Today Mom. I feel like he’s the one Mom. ” I said smiling and arranged her sitting position just to have a clear view of me.
“The one? What does that mean, the one? Just because you are having some funny feelings doesn’t mean he’s right for you. Can’t you see it Katrina, that guy is totally bad for you. Firstly, he’s not a Christian and doesn’t even go to church. Is that the kind of person you want to help raise your daughter? I’m not allowing that. If you can’t get married to someone as heavenly spirited as Paul then forget it I will not allow you. “She said and switch off the lamp by her be-d without waiting for me to say my own piece.
I thought I’m done with all these controlling life of a thing. I’m 22 for God’s sake why can’t she just allow me make my own decision?
I left her room to mine just to think about my life and my decision to be with Jay. Is he a bad person? He has been kind to me and my daughter and he’ll be a great father to Lydia and she loves him too. I’m taking this decision for Lydia’s sake.

“Good morning. ” I said to everyone on the table and gr-ab a seat next to Lydia who’s all dressed up re-ady for school. I can’t remember the last time I got her re-ady for school Mom has been a great help and she’s loved.
“Mommy, there will be an outreach in our school today. ” She began and it sounds new to me side no one told me about it.
“They s£nt the a letter last week. I forgot to tell you. ” Mom said paying attention to what she was eating.
“Mommy, grandma are the both of you fighting? ”
I and my Mom’s eyes met and she was quic-k to look away.
“Eat up sweetheart, you don’t wanna be late for school. ” She said to her and I place my hand on Lydia’s left l@p. I’m going to tell her. I nee-d someone to make me feel better and she’s good doing that.
“I’ll take her to school, there’s something I nee-d to confirm. ” I said standing up then placing the napkin on the table.
“Thanks for the breakfast Mom. “I said
” Common, we’re gonna be late. ” She got off the dinning and hung her bag on her back.
‘Thank you grandma. “She said and k!$$£d Mom’s left cheek and she respond by patting her back.

” I and your uncle Jayson are seeing each other. “I said to her.
” You realize I’m just five right which means I don’t un-derstand what you’re saying. Can you come down to my level? “I chuckled. I love this girl so much.
” Jayson is going to be your daddy. “I said even though I’m not sure we’re going to get married.
” Is he your b©yfri£ndnow? “She ask grinning from everywhere.
” Yes… Wait, how did you know that? “I ask her and before she could reply me a cab st©pped in front of us.

They told me everything I nee-ded to know about the outreach, I apologize to them since I wasn’t really aware of all that is going on with Lydia’s life. I’ve been busy and they un-derstood perfectly.
The ride to the office was very quiet and when I finally got here I paid the cab man and was about getting inside when Marine gr-ab my arm.
“You have to see this! ” She said and dragged me to the garage where cars are kept. I saw people gathered in one place.
“What’s going on? ” I ask Marine.
“She’s here! ” And everyone turn to me then there appeared Jayson holding a key up.
“You’re very lucky girl. ” Marine said and walk to join the rest while I just stood there waiting for Jayson to get closer. I really nee-d to know what is going on.
“I got this for you. ” He place the key on my palm smiling.
“A car? ” I’m not even sure of how I sound right now.
“Yes my love a car. This is my first gift to you. ”
I raised my head to see a white sport car covered in ribbons.
Is he serious right now?
I use my hand to cover my mouth in shock when he falls on his knees.

He brou-ght out a box from his pocket and when he opened it, it was a diamond ring💍.
“I never believe in happily ever after until I met you Katherine Smoake. And if you ask me, I’ll want you to be my happily ever after. ”
God, he’s asking me to marry him.
Jayson Christon is asking me to marry him but what should I say? We just started d@t!ngyesterday and he’s alre-ady asking me to be his wife?
Is this some kind of joke or he really meant what he’s saying.
“I’m not asking to marry you right away Katherine but I just want you to be mine. ” He said looking up at me and I nod my head forward and before I knew what was going on, he wra-p me in his hands.

That night he drove me home and walk me to the door then st©pped.
“I guess I’ll see you tomorrow then? ” He said ma-king me smile. I just love his sweet voice.
“Do you mind coming in? ”
I just can’t imagine what was going on in his head but what I do know is that I’m re-ady to let him in my life because I love him too.
He nod his head as a yes and walked in with me.

“Do you mind coming in? ”
This is not the first time I’ll be going into their house but this is the first time Kathy is inviting me in. For a moment I forgot all my problems even the ones at home and I really meant it when I said I want to spend the rest of my life with him.
We got into the house and she ask me to sit on the armchair which I did.
“Make yourself at home. ” She said and sit on the couch.
“Where then is Lydia? ” I ask wanting to see that beautiful Angel and then the door opened revea-ling her and Kathy’s Mom. They must have been out.
“Mom.” Kathy called and we stood up together. She gave me a weird stare Connoting ‘What are you doing here? ‘
“I invited him over for dinner Mom hope you don’t mind. ” Kathy said and she gave me the last stare before walking towards the kitchen.
“She isn’t of support but don’t worry, she’ll come around. ” Kathy said and followed behind her.
When Kathy was out of sight, Lydia c@m£ running to me.
“So, you did it? ” She ask me and I nod my head as a yes then she jumped on me and I almost lost my balance.
“That means you’ll be my Daddy soon right? ” She ask and I smile then she hvgged my n£¢k.
“Jayson.” I looked by my left side to see Kathy’s Mom smiling at me. Genuinely I mean.
“Welcome to the family. ” She said and hvg me while I was still carrying Lydia.
