[The CEOs choice šŸ’‹]
šŸŽŒChapter 1šŸŽŒ
šŸ‘ø Sarah’s POV šŸ‘ø
āœ…I woke up as early as 3am today only to be the one everyone is waiting for. I climb down the stairs and stĀ©p on my track watching my mom and daughter Lydia alre-ady on the dinning and Mom was serving her breakfast.
How perfect do I want my family again? There might not be husband but I think I’m happy alre-ady. Having to wake up seeing this beautiful faces fills me up with joy.

“Don’t just stand there. Hurry up and come eat.” My mom said and Lydia turn her nĀ£Ā¢k to me.

“We’re alre-ady late mummy.” She said as I climb down the stairs then hvg my Mom after greeting her then proceeds to embr@ce Lydia who hvgged me back.

“So,what do we have for breakfast?” I ask sitting next to Lydia. Mom is still serving so she’s standing. I don’t know how she gets to do all these for I and Lydia despite all that has happened in the past and if there is anybĀ©dy that should hate me then that person should be my Mom but instead she embr@ce me and accepted me in her arms. I love you Mom.

“The usual and grandma decides to fill my lunchbox today.” Lydia said causing us to all laugh at what she said.

“Grandma wants you to be healthy darling.” I said to her.

“By ma-king me fat? Mommy fat people are ugly and I don’t want to be ugly.” She said and I gave her that unbelievable look. How on earth did a five year old knows that much? I have to restrict her from watching some things cause they corrupt her innocent mind.

“And who told you that? Hold on a second, do you perhaps have a crush alre-ady?” Mom ask her and instead of running her mouth like she has been doing since today, she faced her meal. I nod my head and start eating.

“I have faith that you’ll get this job.” Mom said”. Yea, I’m looking for a job like I’ve been looking for a job for the past few weeks now and luckily for me I got one in this prestigious organization and they’re asking me to come for my interview today which Mom has been praying about since last night.
āœ…And that is right, I was born into a religious home where everything you do as a human has to reflect in the Holy Book. I mean the Bible. My dad was a pastor in the local church we attend now St. Peter’s Catholic Church in New York City while my Mom serve as a deaconess in that church so just imagine how holy my life has been since birth.
As a child, I wasn’t oportuned to socialize, go to clubs or even keep a bĀ©yfriĀ£ndas my parents will say it’s a sin and against God’s will and then a very terrible thing happened.

āœ…It was actually after our prom night and I was just seventeen at that time. My parents had alre-ady c@mĀ£ off my case a little bit and they allowed me to go prom because they felt they owe me that last freedom before sĀ£nding off to the convent to become a dominical sister. How fascinating. I was actually against it but there was nothing I could do about it except pray for s miracle and I doubt if God will perform a miracle that is against Him.

The two girls I was suppose to ride home with suggest that we get wasted like drun!kand me been me didn’t argue with them so we actually had few sh0ts before deciding to go home. On our way home, we met with badlucks bunch of teenagers who mĀ©lĀ£stĀ£dus and that was how my life got ruined.
Few weeks later I and my Mom discovered I was pregnant and that was how the shame started. People starts gossiping, some calling me a prĀ©st!tĆ»tĀ£not wating to hear the real story and I wasn’t re-ady to explain either.
I lost my dad to stro-ke and when I had Lydia I thought my life was about to end in my very eyes then Mom surprised me, she took I and my baby back in and treated us well.
I think they stĀ©pped giving a damm about Lydia’s father when she was just three years old and since then we’ve been living peacefully.
…….
“So you do have faith that you’ll get the job?” Lydia ask me when we are outside waiting for the available cab that will convey us to her school and to the organization I’m going.
“Yes darling. Having full confidence in God is a good thing right.” I said even though I’m not yet a believer but my Mom and daughter are crazy for God.

“Yes it is except if you did not get what you want from Him. Mommy, what if you didn’t get the job?” She ask me and I turn to her.

“I will get the job Lydia. StĀ©p saying such things.” I said.

“I’m sorry Mommy but what if you get disappointed? Will you still have faith in Him?”
I don’t even know what to say to her cause de-ep down I do have this conviction that I won’t get the job. God plea-se, don’t let my effort go in vain.
“There is a taxi Mommy.” Lydia said excitedly.

šŸŽŒChapter 2šŸŽŒ
ā˜€Jayson’s POV ā˜€
āœ…”Good morning sir.” Marine greeted me and then she collects the brief case I was carrying.

“Morning Marine. Sorry I’m late.” I said as we increa-sed our pace. I’m the leader and it’s essĀ£ntial I set a good example for them to follow except of course it wasn’t my fault I come late but it is my fault I haven’t done anything concerning it.

“You have a meeting in the next hour sir”. Marine said and all I could do was just nod my head.

āœ”We got into my office and I sat on my chair while Marine place the brief case beside me and now she’s standing in front of me.

” Anything sir? “She asked.

” The new market staff has begin working? “I asked been that they complained few weeks back that they’re short of staffs so I gave them the go ahead to employ one more staff.

” Yes sir. She was here for an interview. She just left some minutes ago. “She said and I wowed.

” She’s a she? “I asked perplexed.

” Katherine Smoake. “She said and I nod my head before sĀ£nding her off.

” And Marine, I don’t want any visitors. “I said then she walk out but something is definitely wrong with this name Katherine Smoake. I strongly hope Katherine Smoake is not Katrina Smoake.
šŸ’—Katherine’s POV
” I missed the prayers too? “I asked Mom the second I got into the building.
Today is my dad’s memorial service and funny enough they decide to hold the service at our house. Mom had pleaded with me not to miss this year’s as I did last year and right in front of me, she looked sad.
“Mom I’m sorry. ” I said sadly.

“Why are you doing this to him Katrina? “She said

” Mom I… ”

“You always have an excuse. ” With that she walk back inside the house and I exhale. Very well, I wasn’t really a fan of my dad. He’s too religious and when I got pregnant with Lydia and there was no father to bring home he made me miserable and embarras-sed me in so many ways so maybe Mom is thinking I’m paying him back in his coins whereas I’m not. I just could not meet up.

“Katherine Smoake. ” I turn swiftly to see Paul and my hair sweeps his face.
“I’m neither hungry for your hair. ” He said ma-king me to laugh.

“I’m sorry about that. I thought you would have gone home. ” I said as we’re walking to get a table to sit down.

“You weren’t around again this year to help your mother but Lydia did anyway. ” He said and we finally sits down.

“Such a sweet girl and does anybĀ©dy ever wonder if Dad doesn’t want me in his memorials? ” I said and he looked at me weirdly.

“You don’t believe that do you. ” He said and I shrug my shoulder.

Paul is the son of the recent pastor in our church, you know the house of holy of holies? Something like that. He was among those people who judged my existence when I was pregnant of Lydia without a father but when things start dying down, he began warming up to me and I can swear that Paul is having a crush on me. Even if he hasn’t said anything or try saying anything, I know he does and it’s really better as he hasn’t said anything cause I’ll certainly turn him down.

“I don’t even believe anything. ” I said and he did the cross sign. Something every Christian does.

“May God have mercy on you. ” He said ma-king me laugh. I mean we have been living in His mercy for years now.

“And you too young pastor. ” I said and we both laughed.

āŖāŖFAST FORWARDā©ā©
“Mom can you plea-se just talk to me. ” I said standing by her door. I could hear her praying. Does He even answer prayers of mothers who don’t talk to their children?
āœ”She locked the door and hasn’t said a word to me since after the gathering and I’m bothered.
“Mom, I just want you to know that I am very sorry for missing the prayers. It’s okay if you’re mad at me I bet dad is too. He has been anyway so I’ll live. You know, I’ll do my own prayers for him alone. I hope God is not mad at me too. ” I said and walk away to Lydia’s room and she’s alre-ady fast asleep. I can’t believe I didn’t get to see my daughter before she sleeps off. Well, I’m not going anywhere tomorrow so I’ll just be with them and apologize till they forgives me.

I went to my room and was pu-lling off when my phone beeps. I checked the message and it’s from the same company I went to today for interview, they’re calling me to start working tomorrow.
