“Where should we use?” Ria asked
“The empty clas-s upstairs” Ashley said
“No no, I suggest we use the music room, so that we can get used to the instruments, you know we won’t only write but pl@yit also”Jessamyn said and we all agreed to it.
“That will be great!” Monalisa shouted and we all laughed.

? AT THE MUSIC ROOM ?

Jessamyn brou-ght out a small book and I handed her a pen, she started writing out some lyrics.
Minutes later, we checked what she has written and discovered that she has written three pages.
“Wow! Jessamyn you’re so fast and intelligent” Ashley shouted smiling
“Yes, but don’t you think this is too much, I guess a sheet is okay” Ria said
“No, I will write six sheets, each sheet for each person, we all have to sing not that just one person will sing everything” Jessamyn said
“Oh my! But my voice is bad, I’m so bad when it comes to singing” Ashley said
“Don’t worry, we’ll find solution to that” I said and Jessamyn continued writing.
After about ten minutes, she stood up and to-re the sheets separately. She handed a sheet to us each and we scanned throu-gh it.
“I don’t think I can know all of these off hand” Mia said
“But you have to. Try Mia try” I said
“Alright, I’ll give it a try” Mia said
“We haven’t talk about the instrument that’s to be used” Ria said
“Yeah, I guess piano ? is good for the music” Monalisa said
“No, guitar ? is the best instrument for this kind of music” Jessamyn said
“Alright, but no one here can pl@ya guitar ?, or does anyone knows how to pl@yit??” Ashley asked
“Yes, I do.” Jessamyn replied
“You do??” Ria asked
“Yes”
“Alright then, the job is done alre-ady” Ashley said
“Yeah, come on let’s start” Monalisa said and Jessamyn gr@bb£d a guitar and started strumming the strings as we prepared ourselves.

We got into the libr@ry and sat at a corner, then each of us brou-ght out a book and started writing.
Minutes later, Kaima c@m£ to me to show me something
“Isn’t this okay?” she asked as she placed her hand on my shoulder
“It is. But if you wish to add more, you’re free” I replied
“Alright, I’ll add more” she replied and went back to sit.
Minutes later, we’re all done writing.
“Now let’s see how we’ll join the lyrics” I said and checked all the lyrics
“Wisdom’s own is good for beginning, then comes mine, then Babita, Anderson, Chris and lastly Kaima will round it off” I explained and they all nodded.
“Now let’s start practicing” Wisdom said
“We can’t practice without instruments” Chris said
“So what do you suggest we do?” Anderson asked
“Let’s go to the second music room, since the all girls group has occu-pied the first one” Babita said
“Alright let’s go” I said and we headed to the second music room.

I sat in front of the piano ? while Wisdom gr@bb£d a guitar.
“Hold on guys, don’t tell me you know how to use these instruments” Kaima said
“Must we let everyone know about what we can do or not?” Chris asked
“You also know how to use them?” Kaima asked
“Nope, I just know how to pl@ythem” Chris said and we all laughed
“Come guys start pla-ying, I want to see Archie performing” Kaima said and I scoffed.
Wisdom started strumming the guitar as he sang from his own book while I pla-yed the piano, then others watched.

We all sat down to relax after practicing.
“You’re so good Jessamyn” Ria said and we smiled
“Thank you” Jessamyn said
“But your voice sounds like Tiana’s” Mia said and I stared at Clara
“Oh! That’s nice, thanks for the compliment” Jessamyn said and quic-kly stand up.
“Let’s go home, it’s closing hour” she said
“Alright, but I think we should practice later in the evening today” Ashley said
“Yeah, but no one has these instruments at home, so we can’t practice at home, unless we come to school” Ria said
“But come to think of it, Clara’s sister is a musician, we can go to their house and use the instruments” Mia suggested and I tapped Clara.
“Erm…Uhm…My sister doesn’t have any instruments at home, all her instruments are at the concert” Clara said and I heaved a sigh of relief
“Oops! Alright then, let’s come to school early tomorrow, so that we can practice before lecture starts” Ashley said
“Okay, let’s go home” I said and we went out of the music room.

We all sat down quietly in the large hall. All instruments were moved from the music rooms to the hall.
Each group was busy practicing, while we awaits Mr Bills’ and the HOD of music’s arrival.
Few minutes later, they both c@m£ in and we sat down in silence.
“Good morning students” Mr Ben, the HOD greeted as he stood on the podium.
“Good morning sir” we all responded
“How are you all?”
“We’re fine sir”
“Alright, let’s get straight to business, the first group should come out” Mr Ben said and Davison’s group walked to the stage.
They performed really well and headed to their seats back.
“Next” Me Bills called and Archie’s group walked to the stage.
Archie sat in front of the piano while Wisdom gr@bb£d the guitar.
They started singing and they really are performing well.
“Wow! I never knew Archie is so good at pla-ying piano” I said
“And neither do I know that Wisdom could pl@ya guitar” Monalisa said
“No one knows about it, so let’s focus on our own goals, I want our group to win” Ria said and we kept quiet and listen to Archie’s group’s song.
Few minutes later, the next group was called and Reena’s group went to perform.
Then the next was ours, we went out to the stage and Jessamyn took the guitar, she started strumming and Ria started singing.
After Ria, Ashley, Mia, Monalisa, Jessamyn then Me.
We performed with all our might so we could win, after singing, we headed back to our seats.
“Wow! Wow!! Wow!!! That’s superb! I must say you guys are really amazing! And one of the members of the last group sounds just like Tiana Hathaway, her voice is really amazing!” Mr Ben said
“Yeah, I thought I’m the only one who noticed that” Mr Bills said
“Alright, let’s leave that aside, now the scores” Mr Ben said and started saying the scores.
“Davison’s group won with 35 points, Archie’s group won with 50 points, Reena’s group won with 42 points, Raynaud’s group won with 38 points, while the last group, the all girls group won with 50 points as well, so there would be another competition between Archie’s group and the all girls group to know who will go with the first position” Mr Ben said and we all shouted excitedly.
“And one more thing, the two leading groups should better go and prepare well, because the leading team will be p@rticipating with other schools, so be prepared” Mr Bills said
“Okay, thank you sirs” we said
“Take care” Mr Ben said and they both went out.

We returned back to clas-s and sat down for the next lecture.

We sat down awaiting our orders as we discussed about the competition.
“I bet with you Archie, our group will win over yours” Clara said
“Yeah, that’s a promise” Ria SA smiling
“Well I know that, because our group is not a match to yours, it can never be compared to yours at all” Archie said
“Good you know that alre-ady” Ashley said.
The waitress brou-ght our orders and we settled to eat. We were still eating when Kaima c@m£ to join us.
She sat down beside Archie and placed her palm on his.
What’s she trying to prove?
“What are you doing Kaima?” Archie asked as he re-moved his hand.
“Nothing, I c@m£ to spend the break with you guys” Kaima replied
“Alright, guess you don’t know my hand was there” Archie said
“Yeah” Kaima said and ordered for food as we ate while discussing about the competition.

We took our backpacks and headed to the school entrance. Kaima ran to us and together we went out of the school.
We discussed about so many things while waiting for our drivers.
“Hey guys, guess what happened on our birthday last week” Ria said and we paid attention to her
“What’s it? Tell us” Clara said
“No, just guess” Ria said
“We can’t guess, just tell us” Monalisa said and Ria smiled
“You all know that Anderson and Eric also attended our birthday p@rty” Ria said
“Yeah, so what happened?” I asked
“He called me to talk to me in pri-vate” she said and paused again
“So what did he say?” Ashley asked anxiously
“He just apologise for what he said that day when we were pla-ying Truth or Dare” Ria said
“Oh! For saying you’re not his type?” Chris asked
“Yeah”
“Really??” Clara asked
“Yes”
“And what else did he say?” Monalisa asked
“He then asked me to dance with him but I refused, and went upstairs” Ria narrated
“Are you serious?” I asked in disbelief
“Yes” she replied smiling
“I told you he’s not the rude type you all think he is” Archie said
“Yeah, you’re right” Ria said
“Even Eric c@m£ to me also” Mia said
“For real??” Monalisa and Ashley asked at the same time
“Yeah” Mia asked
“And what did he say?” Clara asked
“He said he loves me and he wants me to be his girlfriend” Mia said and we all shouted excitedly

“And what was your reply?” I asked
“I said I’ll think about it” Mia said
“You’ve not given him any reply?” Ria asked
“Yes”
“What will your answer be?” I asked
“I don’t even know” Mia said
“Alright, but think it well” Clara said as our driver arrived and we bade them farewell and entered the car.
I alighted from the car and went to hvg Archie before going back into the car. Clara also alighted and went to hvg Chris.
“You love doing anything I do” I said and she smiled.

I went straight into the bathroom after removing everything I was putting on.
I dived into the bathtub after filling it with soapy water.
I la-id in it for like 7 minutes before stepping out of it and took a quic-k shower, then I headed out of the bathroom to the be-droom.
Clara was there, lying on the be-d.
“Are you slee-ping alre-ady?” I asked and she sat up.
“No, I’m waiting for you to come out” she said
“Why?” I asked
“I want to bath ofcourse” she said
“Alright, do quic-k and meet me at the music room” I said as I dressed up in a blue short go-wn ?. I straitened my hair and brushed it in one side, then I wore my fl!pflops.
“I’m going” I said as I took my phone and headed out of the be-droom to the music room.

? THE NEXT DAY ?

I woke up late because it was a Saturday. I looked beside me but Clara isn’t there. Guess she woke up early today.
I headed out of the room and went downstairs, there I saw her, in the living room, watching a program on TV with Dad.
“Dad you’re here” I said as I walked over to them
“My angel” Dad said and I greeted him
“So early?? Why didn’t you wake me up when he arrived?” I asked Clara
“He said I shouldn’t disturb your sleep” she replied
“But you should at least tap me” I said as I sat down with them.
“It’s okay, I st©pped her from doing so” Dad said
“So any problem Dad?” I asked
“I c@m£ here to take you for shopping” Dad replied
“But Dad, we’re grown up now, we can do that if we want to. You don’t have to stress yourself” I said
“Don’t worry, it’s been long since I take you for shopping, and besides, since we discovered that she’s your sister, I’ve never go out with you guys, so let’s go” Dad said
“But Dad…”
“No but, go and take your bath and breakfast, then we’ll leave” Dad said, cutting me short.
Clara and I went upstairs to take our bath, then we c@m£ down to have our breakfast. After which we left for shopping.

We were awaiting Mr Bills and Mr Ben’s arrival as we sat in the hall, preparing for the competition.
Not long after, they arrived and everywhere bec@m£ silent.
“Good afternoon guys” Mr Ben greeted
“Good afternoon sir”
“How was your weekend?” he asked
“Splendid” we replied in unison
“Alright, straight to business without delay, Archie’s group should perform first” Mr Ben said and Archie with his group members went on to the stage.
They sang melodiously and we all applauded them, then they c@m£ back to their seats and we went to the stage.
Within forty minutes, we were done and everyone applauded us.
“Now the winner will be chos£n” Mr Bills said and we all sat upright
“Archie’s group won with 56 points” Mr Bills said and the group members shouted in excitement
“While the all girls group won with 52 points” Mr Bills said and Archie’s group laughed at us.
“False! The all girls group won with 68 points!” Mr Bills shouted as he laughed and we all stood up, shouting in excitement.
I thought Archie’s group has won over us not knowing Mr Bills was only joking around.
“I’m so happy Jess, thank you so much” Ria shouted as she jumped on me.
“Now keep quiet and listen” Mr Ben said and everywhere bec@m£ silent again.
“The all girls group should get prepared because the interschool competition is a bit complicated than this, so put all your efforts in it. I pray you win and make our school proud” Mr Ben said
“And one more thing, the competition is on next week Wednesday, Tiana Hathaway will be there, she will be the one to pres£nt the gifts to the winning team so be well prepared” Mr Bills added
His last statement made my heart beat fas-ter.
