EXCURSION (INTO THE BADLANDS)

CHAPTER 11
UNKNOWN POV
.
i heard strangers i’ve entered our land and what i couldn’t believe is that they are all young, so since then i’ve been watching and following them, even when they are pursuing them in the forest, i helped them kill few but i make sure no one see or notice me.
.
when i see that one of them have fell off the cliff, i quic-kly went there and luckily for him , there are many trees in this place so he fell on it , even the man he push down also fell on the tree
but i quic-kly kill him off, so i went to the boy but he was unconcious, so i carried him to my place.
.
It’s been two day now and he is still unconcious and i alre-ady treeted his wound cause he was badly injured,
i think he is their leader so he has to wake up cause i nee-d his help.

Michael’s POV
.
There is a ray of light shinning to my eyes, so i open my eyes and realised that i’m in a stange place, i looked around the place and wondered how i got here, then i try to remembered what happen,

i remember getting hit with an arrow i quic-kly check my che-st only to see that it has been treated, i started asking myself questions like………have i been caught?,where are the rest?
is this p@rt of their plan to treat me so i can be useful to them?.
.
well if they are going to get me they will only have the dead me cause i wont allow to take me without a fight.
then i see a young girl aroung my age coming inside, i quic-kly took a dagger from the shelf and place it the girl n£¢k.

unknown girl:wait….wait…wait..wait plea-se calm down ,dont kill me plea-se.
me: why shouldn’t i?
unknown girl: because i’m the one that saved you.
me: yeah….you did cause even people pursuing us also want us alive.
unknown girl: trust me i mean you no harm ……look around you we are the only one here.

i see that she was saying the truth cause there’s no one here so i re-lease the dagger from her n£¢k and
move away from her.

me:where are my friends?
unknown girl:they have been captured by my people.
me:who are you people and what do you want from us?

unknown girl: my name ZARA and we are called the ZOGARA Clan
me: what do you want from us?.
Zara: every month in our land we make a sacrifice.
me: sacrifice?……..sacrifice of what?
Zara:5 human being in a month.
me:whatttttt…….you people are crazy…… well if thats the case why cant you use your own people.

Zara: The being must be below 25 years and my people don’t want to use their children , so they went outside the badlands to fetch them and when they see you people,they decided to make use of you, cause you are many and young as well, they killed your supervisor cause they are way too old to be use.

me: but why is this happening now, this is not the first time our school as been coming here.
.
zara: yes….. you are right……every first 5 days of every months a portal will open that allow our people
to go in search of children to use and the reason the people that c@m£ before you were not taken is because they
didn’t come in the first 5 days of the month so the portal is not open.

me: i’m very sure my people from our world will be searching for us by now and they find this place they will kill
all of you.
zara: they can’t find this place cause the portal is closed.

me:then i have to go and save my friends before they were sacrificed.
Zara: i’m sorry ……..you are too late……five among them have been sacrificed alre-ady.

me: wha…whaaa…..do you mean sacrifice…..sacrificed to what??………TO WHAAAAATTTTTTT???(shouted).
Zara: to JAYIRA.
Me: what is a JAYIRA?

Joy’s POV
.
After they have been taken to the cave,i see that the people are turning back.
me: waiit …where are they?…why are they turning back?.
.
Then i hear a very loud roar and i started to fear for sandra and the rest.

Sandra’s POV
.
After we’ve been esc-rted to this place we’ve hearing a very loud roar.
.
whaaaattt iss thaat ….Qudus said fearfully…i also dont know….i replied. Then we heard something saying.
unknown: ahhhhh fooooood iissss heeerrreee(in a very de-ep voice that sound like a roar).

me: who is that….and what do you want??
unknown: I AM JAYIRA AND I AM HUUNNGGRRYYY
Then the thing c@m£ out of the dark and when we saw it we shoutedd and tried to run but it caught up with us.

Joy’s POV
.
we were still waiting when we heard a scream coming out of the cave and immediately the people shouted in jubilation.

samuel: oh no whaat does that meean …..hope is not what i’m thinking (crying).
.
pst.chris: so we are going to die after all…..their is no hope for us again ….wwe are all gonna die.

daniel: this people are just evil….what did we do to deserve this?.

Micheal’s POV

me: A snake
zara: yes..a big and enormous snake with two hands and also can talk. the snake is nothing like the one on your world this one is very dangerous.
.
then we heard a noise from afar.
me: what is that ?…what is that noise?
zara:it means JARIYA accepted their offerring.
.
me: sooo thaat meeans my friends are dead? aaaahhhh (i hit my hand on the wall and i cried out in pain).
.
Zara: just 5 among them but we can save the rest.
.
me: why are you helping us?
zara: because i want revenge
me: revenge?….against your own people..why?.
.
zara: they kill my parents and siblings.
me: why what is their offence?.
.
zara: my parents didn’t agree to the sacrificing of young children.Each time they brou-ght kids to be used for sacrifice, my parent is not always happy about it, so one day my father decided to re-lease the children but he was caught so they killed him for it,
they plan to kill us too but my mother take my siblings and i away but the people keep pursuing us, an arrow hit me on my shoulder which make me to fall down and went unconcious they killed mother and my siblings and they left, they thought i was also dead after a while i wake up only to see my family dead, i cried endlessly after while i buried them and promise to kill everyone in that place. i’ve been planning it but couldn’t find a way but when i see you guys i decided to help you and in doing so i fulfill my parent’s wish and also get revenge on the people.

me: how is helping us makes you get your revenge on them?.
.
Zara: on the fifth day of every month, they pres£nt the 5 sacrifice to JAYIRA as it food early in the morning,
.
Me why are they feeding it?…..what is it doing for them.
.
Zara: if they don’t feed it on the fifth day, it will get angry and come out of the cave and kill anyone it meet on it way, it will eat the younger ones below 25 years downward and kill the older ones.
.
Me: can’t you just try to kill it?
Zara: no one could…..it been with us for a long time.
.
Me: why can’t you run away throu-gh the portal.
.
Zara: the snake will s-en-se it if anyone tries to escape and it come out of it cave and kill the person, even those that
went out of the badlands to bring the people to use , they will have to drink the snakes blood before they can go and if they are not back before the fifth day they will die.

me: how do we get my friends out of there?.
.
Zara: we will have to wait till next month because we nee-d to wait for the portal to open before we can rescue them.
alright guys……nw we hav d reason 4 wat is happening in the badlands.

Chapter 12.
(Mr Peter’s Resident)

Mrs Peter’s POV
.
It been a month now since the disappearance of the children, since then I’ve been moody all throu-gh but i still have faith that i will see my son again.
.
Principal blake have been sued to court several times but because he’s not just a ordinary person he was able to some push bu-ttons .
.
The Jones family accused him of the children disappearance but he has an alibi that can testify that this is not the first time they will be going there,the teachers and some students also testified,
.
Because of what is going on the school have been locked down till further notice.

Joy’s POV
.
It been a month since we’ve been here, also a month that sandra and the rest were taken to the cave it and remaining 14 of us.
.
Since then they haven’t taken anyone else,all they do is just to feed us with their ugly looking food but we have no choice but to eat it and we have gotten use to it,
we have starting to gain weight cause they feed us in excess, i guess it for us to be feed to whatever is inside that cave…
we are all worried of what’s going to happen to us and we have all lose hope cause there’s no way we are getting out of here, we were being monito-red.
Michael’s POV
.
It been a month after the death of my friends and tomorrow is the fifth day that they will sacrifice another five and I’m not gonna let that happen, I’m gonna give them all i got and free my friends by any means necessary even it if mean to burn the place to the ground.
Zara have been teaching how to shoot an arrow and she’s very good at it, now I’m also an expert in shooting, i can shoot at long range with good accuracy, I’m also good at throwing dagger.
.
We’ve gather so many weapons and soa-ked them with the poisonous leaf, we plan to go there early in the morning to free my friends before any of them are taken to cave.
.
I was in the room sharpening my dagger when zara c@m£ to me.
Zara: mike, come i want you to see something.
Me: what is it?
Zara: come let me show you
I followed her to a place a bit far from where we are, i saw something that look like a car…. 2 police car. I was wondering how this got here cause i dont think there’s a way this get here.
Me: how did it get here?
Zara: there’s a story like two years ago that when five of our people were s£nt to fetch the children to be use for sacrifice ,they couldn’t find one on time till the fourth day.
They couldn’t find any and if they didn’t go back on the fifth day they will die.so they went to a school and wait for the Closing time , immediately the children c@m£ out of the school they quic-kly gr-ab five to them and put them behind the car and drove off, because it was in broad daylight they were being pursued by the police , immediately they got to the portal they went throu-gh it and the police follow them throu-gh the portal.
When my people see that they were being pursued they sound the alarm for the snake JAYIRA to save them, after some minutes the snake c@m£ out of the cave and kill all the police men.

Me: we still have to find a way to kill that snake.
Zara: I’m afraid there is no way.
.
I went closer to the car and found guns and bullets inside.
Me: didn’t your people see this.
Zara: they did but we dont use it here because we don’t know how to use it.
.
I picked the gun and try shooting with it but it was all dud i also tried the rest but still the same results, so i change the bullet and try shooting again and this time around it work after that i checked the booth and found a 25 litre keg of petro, i quic-kly check the other booths but only found bullets.
.
Me: i have an idea
Zara: what is it?
Me: i know a way to kill this snake of yours but Let’s carry all this to our place first.
After we’ve carry everything i started taking out the guns and count only 12 guns but 7 among them is not good but we have many bullets.
.
Zara : so how are we going to kill it?
Me: we kill it with this petrol, first we will have to divide this petro and we will make sure we get close enough to it and i will throw it or pour it to its b©dy and immediately you will shoot at it and then it will burn as long as it is an animal.
.
Zara: the plan is good but we getting close to it is dangerous, what if we don’t get the chance to do it.
Me: we have to do it we have to find a way to kill it and that’s the only thing i can think of.
Zara : ok then…… By early tomorrow we will start.
.
(After then we eat and discuss and we sleep).

(the next day)
.
We woke up very early in the morning and pick up or weapons and leave to rescue my friends before they are being use.

Joy’s POV
.
It’s another morning and I’m the first to wake up cause it still early and no one is around just few people and i noticed that they are preparing something and i looked closer then i remembered that it’s the same thing they did before sandra and the rest were taken to the cave then it occur to me that they are gokng to be taking us on the fifth day of every month to the cave and i quic-kly wake up the rest.

Me: guys wake up…. Wake up.
Samuel: what is it….. What happen ?
Me: they are starting the thing they did before Sandra and rest are taken.
Pst. Chris: oh God noooo…. The day has come.
Samuel: so does that mean they will come to take some of us again………. oh no no…. So this is the end.
.
We were still talking when they come in again and started selecting us they pointed to samuel, then to sarah, then to taiwo, then to grace, then to me.
.
After a lot of protest, We were dragged out of the cage to the place we are to be decorated before taking us to the cave..
They were about to get us n-ked when one of them was hit with an arrow, i looked around to see the person but i cant see anyone, then another 4 more arrow hit them and they die instantly then we quic-kly get dressed and looked behind and see someone with another girl dress in the badlanders cloth unlocking the cage my friends are, i was wondering why would they want to help us so i move closer then i see the person MIKE.

michael’s POV
.
I bring up the suggestion to dress in the badlanders clothes so that when they see us walking on the road they wont suspect anything.
.
When we get to where my friends are i see that 5 of them have been taken alre-ady and joy is among them, we cant use the guns or else the rest will be alarmed,.
So zara and i shoot them dead with the poisoned arrow.
.
Then we moved to the cave my friends are being held and unlocked it.
.
Daniel: MIKE you are alive….. you are not dead.
Pst. Chris: Praise the LORD, thank God you are alive, we thought you are dead.
Me: nah nah i cant be dead like….. It gonna take more than an arrow to kill me. Then i heard Joy behind me……. Mike is that you.. She said.
.
Immediately i turn back she gave me a hvg.
Joy: i can’t believe you are still alive……. what happen how …..and who is this?
Me:this is Zara and she is the one that save me and now is not the time for explanation, we nee-d to get out of here now before they notice we are gone.
.
After I’ve freed them we left the place, we have not gotten far before we heard loud sound…. I guess they just found out we are gone.
I gave my friends the guns and bullets while some of zara and i take the bow and arrow while some of us are with the petrol, we divided it into 3.
.
After running for a while we noticed that we were being pursued so we started shooting at them, the gun is really helping and we kill alot of them, after a while many more started pursuing us it’s like the whole village is hunting and i know it because of the snake JAYIRA, if it doesn’t feed in an hours time it will get angry and destroy the village.
.
Lara: so where are we running to….. It’s not like we can run forever.
Me: there is a portal just a mile over there.
Joy: a portal?… How do you know this?.
Me: zara told me.
We keep running for almost an hour and we are getting tired, then suddenly an arrow hit lekan and sarah on the head.
Noooooo……….. (we all shouted) .
.
We looked back and see that they have gotten near, so started shooting at them in anger and we make sure we kill them all.
Then we resume running fas-ter this time around ,we are almost there when we heard a loud scream ,then i turn to zara.
.
Me : what is that?…………. what does that means? .
Zara: i think JAYIRA is out of the cave and is killing the people alre-ady and after it is done with them it’s coming for us.
.
After running for some time we can see the portal alre-ady but we are to cross the long bridge to get there and the bridge is made up of rope and plank.
.
We started crossing the bridge,we still haven’t reach anywhere where we see the gigantic and enormous snake running towards us and i know if we don’t do something very fast it will caught up with us.
