Empty promises batch 4

EMPTY PROMISES. (By Amah’s Heart)
EPISODE 8

After a day pas-sed Tony c@m£ with a plaster on his hand and face. I felt pity for him. He said he withdraw over a million he wanted to use for the wedding expenses and it was as if the robbers were tracing him because he can’t fathom how they got to know of the money.
I told him not to worry about the money or the car. All that matters was that he was alive and our wedding must hold. Nothing will st©p it.
He said they also took his bank card and drained off his money that evening even before he can call his account officer to block the card everything was gone. He has not even pay for his wedding suit and shoes.
It was a sad time for us. Tony sat on the ground crying like a child. I went to him consoling him that he shouldn’t worry that everything will be fine. I promised to take over the wedding expenses, to pay for all his wedding outfits and everything we will be nee-ding. After saying that he felt at ease and thanked me for always been supportive.
I was happy to bring back smile to his saddened face and that was how I took over all the expenses nee-ded for the wedding..
We got married and we had our reception. People c@m£ to celebr@te with us. There was enough food and be drink and enough music to dance to. We used the expensive restaurant that we usually go to. We used their reception and a plate of food and drink there was very high in price but Tony insisted that we use there because they give quality and he was right. All that matters is quality and not quantity. Marriage is a life time thing and is better to be done well and beautifully.
And with all the people that c@m£ I covered all the million bills which made me to rundown a bit but I didn’t give it much thought. I’m married and Tony is my dream come true.
Tony will recover all that he loosed within a year and life will be back to normal again. Tony was happy ashedrinksanddancesowell that day. He forgot all his troubles and kept ordering for different things for his friend that c@m£ to merry with us.
Every one thought he was the one spending the money because that was how he makes it seem. They don’t know that it was all my money which was not a big deal.
Everyb©dy that c@m£ were eating and drinking to their satisfaction and I feel good that I was able to cover Tony’s shame and not make it appear it was all my money that was been poured in.
I heard Tony saying to his friends.
“Eat… drink anything you want. I am capable. I got the money and I’m re-ady to spend it all because is my day. Yes… I married my woman and my everything I feel so happy. Enjoy yourselves forget about the bills and have anything you want. I have all the bills covered.
I was smiling as he called me his “everything”. He c@m£ to whisper to my ear that he nee-ded some cash, I opened my bag and handed him enough without counting.
I’m happy because I hav become Tony’s wife and I will make him so proud for choosing me among many other ladies that he told me he turned down.
I married my prince charming and I know our life will be like a fairytale.

EMPTY PROMISES.
EPISODE 9
“I will love and support you, I will be there for you always. I will provide for you and our unborn kids. No harm will come to you and I will never raise a f!nger at you. You have become my wife, the bone of my bone and the flesh or my flesh I will love you till eternity and will never ever hurt you. This are my promises to you Avala. I promised never to make you have doubt in me…
Tony promised me all this and many more during the night after our wedding. I have ever felt so loved. He cu-mddled me up into himself and kept talking.
“You covered my shame and did not expo-se me to ridicule after I was robbe-d and all I got was taken away. You single handed sponso-red our wedding and even paid for my wedding attire. All the expenses was on you and yet you did not complain. I know I did not make a mistake in choosing you. I kept saying from the moment I set my eyes on you at that supermarket I knew that you are my wife and it has become a reality. I love you so much baby and I promise to make it up to you. I know we had plans of spending our honey moon in Paris or any country of your choice but we can’t afford that anymore due to what happened but I will put a smile on your face all the days of our lives together. I promise you…just mark my word I will make you the luckiest woman alive, you will be the envy of your friends….
I listened with a blossomed smile on my face. I did not want him to st©p speaking. I was enjoying every bit of his lifetime as-surance.
More promises poured into my ear and it was like a fine rhythm.
Tony said since he encountered some bad fortune with the arm men who took all he has, he won’t be able to maintain his own place, it was better we all stay together at mine until he bounce back. With time he will be able to get a far better place for us.
I spent a month at home with Tony after my wedding before resuming back to the office.
Tony also went back to work.
Sometimes he will want to use my car which I will leave for him and go with a taxi.
After two months I discovered that I was pregnant and when I told Tony he appeared to be very happy.
I was happy too, having a child of my own and also for Tony will be one of the greatest feeling of all time.
The whole expenses was still on me and nothing was coming from Tony’s side yet. I un-derstand that with time he will bounce back so I did not bother him with anything.
I was alre-ady three months pregnancy when I began to notice Halima’s bad attitude towards me, she spend all day watching the television and ha-rd ly do her usual chores.
I kept ignoring because of Tony and my condition.
I c@m£ back from work one day, tired and famished and all I nee-ded was food and rest.
But I found out that Halima have not prepared anything, she was busy watching a television show and did not even bother standing up to help with the bags in my hands when I c@m£ in.
I asked her why she has not prepared anything and she said because she was a human being and not a machine.
“I’m a human like you and not a computer or machine. I get tired too. You can go to your expensive restaurant and eat or you can try and cook for yourself. When your husband comes back I will make something for him to eat but right now I nee-d my own rest.
I was not surprised at her tone of voice or her ill attitude because she has being giving me sign for long but I chose to ignore. What could be giving her such wings?
What right did she has to tell me that she can’t step into the kitchen to make food for me because she was tired?
Halima has been at home all day and did not go anywhere so why is she complaining of tiredness?
I paid her the exact salary she demanded and Tony was even in support of that. So why should I come back to an empty pot and unkempt house?
“Did you realize who you are actually talking to? Halima, if you are tired of the work why not leave. Resigned and leave my house…there are a lot of other ladies out there searching for job. The only reason why you still have a job here is because of my husband, if not I’m sure you will not even get a chance of working un-der my roof.
She rolled her eyes at me and said.
“You did not employ me, Mr Tony did and I answer more to him than to you. What is too difficult for you to un-derstand the fact that I can’t cook this evening because I’m tired?
I took two steps closer to where she sat with her leg crossed.
“Tony recommended you for me and I accepted because of him. Tony is not paying your salary but I do and if you are intelligent enough you will know that you are living un-der my roof.
She laugh sarcastically, cl@pped her hands together and said.
“What kind of wife are you to expo-se your husband’s weakness like this? So you want to announce to the world that you have money more than Tony…?
I was trying to calm the beast in me because all I wanted to do was to beat the girl up and throw her things out. I try to calm my raging nerve. It was pointless exchanging words with some useless and arrogant maid. I will leave it for Tony. He must throw her out or I will be f0rç£d to do so.
I was in my room when Tony c@m£ back that night.
He was smelling of cigarette and alcohol. i ignored the foul smell and asked him to sack Halima. I told him about the altercation we had earlier before his return.
He asked Halima why she will challenge me but Halima complained that she was tired and nee-ded rest which she explained in a very nice way but I refused to reason with her.
Tony asked her to go ahead and make the evening food for us and she did.
I did not nee-d her pres£nce in the house and I insisted that she must be sacked. Tony sle-pt off leaving me to whine like a child.
The following morning I woke Tony up with Halima’s case again.
Tony asked me to calm down but I refused, and went to the kitchen repeatedly saying that Halima must leave my house.
Halima c@m£ out and began to speak to Tony. She was saying it so loud so that I can hear her clearly.
“Yesterday your wife was shouting that she pay the bills, she owns this house and you don’t have money. She called you a wretched man right in this sitting room and I asked her never to say such because is a disrespect to your person and that was what provoke her. Is not just because of the food but because I try to correct her from saying bad things about you.
I was dressed for work that morning and holding a bottle water which I just took from the fridge. I stood, watching the devilish maid pour lies into Tony’s ears.
That was how Tony fly to my side.
Even without asking question, he descended on me and started pounding me like drum.
He beat me up. I kept shouting that Halima was lying that I never said such but he beat me without mercy as he try to exercise his authority over me.
I suffered miscarriage after that beating and was in the hospital for a week before returning home.
Tony broke his promise again of not ever going to l@yhis f!nger on me. He failed his promise and caused me to loss my unborn child.
My pregnancy went down in blood, I watched a life that I was trying to nurture went out of me because of Tony and his wicked maid.
He c@m£ begging and asking me to forgive him for overacting. He even promised to kick Halima out but I should give him till month end and she will be paid off.
He promised never to repeat such again, that he will never raise a hand on me.
I hope this time around he will keep to his promises because I can’t take another beating from him. I may be f0rç£d to fight back.

EPISODE 10
I was sad after loosing the pregnancy.
I wanted to have a baby and be a great mother to my child but Tony out of unnecessary rage beat the baby out of me.
It was something I could not get over although Tony promised that such will not happen ever again.
he also said that I will conceive another child and we will have more children.
I believed him but the impact of going throu-gh a sudden miscarriage was far more than I can bear.
I try to move on and engage my mind with something else.
Halima was supposed to leave after the month end as Tony finally concluded but he later said we should give her an extra two month until when I’m stable enough.
He said getting another maid that can speak good English, cook different dishes, do the laundry and tidy up the house will not be easy.
He said I should allow Halima to stay for two months and within that period we can search for a new replacement.
I couldn’t bear to spend another day in that house with Halima in it, I stood by my words and asked Tony to kick her out.
Halima was the cause of my miscarriage. She made Tony to descend on me angrily and the result was unforgettable.
I refused to allow her stay for a month or even two but Tony pleaded.
He said everything was his fault and I should throw the blame at him and not on Halima.
After sometime I have to listen to Tony and allow Halima stay for two more months.
I was relaxing on Tony’s b©dy in the sitting room one day, Halima c@m£ out wearing some skimpy short go-wn.
She whine her w@!st and pretend to be searching for something.
I stylishly looked at Tony and his eyes was almost pulping out of the socket as he watched Halima.
He didn’t know that I was watching him and when he realized he quic-kly looked away.
I suggested that we go to the room and relax instead of the sitting room and he agreed.
I just can’t wait to for two months to be over and Halima will be far away from me and Tony.
I was looking forward to not seeing her wretched and ugly face around my house again.
One morning as Tony drives me to work he complained about my car engine, he said he has to take it to the mechanic.
Tony told me that we can’t be using only one car, he wanted to get his own car but business had not been good.
He asked me to take a loan from my company and he promised to pay back.
I asked him to wait until I come back home so that we can have a proper discussion.
He c@m£ to pick me up at work that evening after he was also closed for the day.
Ever since the miscarriage incident, Tony has been extra nice to me.
That evening we talked about the loan and he went on begging me to do it if I truly love him.
Tony promised never to disappoint in paying back the money.
He said before two years he will complete with the payment.
After days of discussion concerning the loan I decided to agree to it.
It was a great risk to get a loan of millions of Naira but Tony as-sured me with his promises and I was willing to risk it all.
I know he will pay back just as he promised to.
I went throu-gh different processes before my company agreed to give me the loan.
There were warning and consequences if the money is not returned on time just as it was initially agreed. I signed the papers because everything was in my name.
I succeeded in collecting the loan and gave it to Tony.
He was overjoyed, he couldn’t get enough of me that week.
He even served me breakfast in be-d. It was like a honey moon week for us and I enjoyed every bit of it.
Tony said I have nothing to fear about the loan. He said he was definitely going to return the money just as we agreed and he will not break his promises.
He informed me that he may even return back the money before the year runs out if his business turns out better.
Tony bought a fine car for himself. We celebr@ted at home and Halima appears to be more happy than I am. She made different dishes and we all had our fill but that did not change the fact that is almost two months and she will be leaving soon.
I left for work that morning and Tony dropped me off with his new car. mine was at the mechanic.
he said he will come and pick me on his way back from work in the evening so that we can go together.
Towards noon, I felt ill.
I wasn’t feeling too good.
We were supposed to have meeting in the office but it was postponed till the following day because of me.
I decided to go home. I wanted to call Tony to inform him but I changed my mind.
Let me not get him worried, he was at work and nee-d to focus.
Since I don’t have my car with me I decided to take a taxi home that afternoon.
When I got to in front of my gate I paid the taxi man and went inside.
The gate man was surprised to see me so early.
But I was more surprised to see Tony’s car parked in the compound.
Tony do not come home by this time, he was usually at work and will upd@t£ me anytime he wants to go home.
I asked the gate man to tell me the time that my husband c@m£ back.
despite his rou-gh English which wasn’t smooth I still un-derstand everything the gate man said.
He told me that it was after “oga” dropped me at work he c@m£ back home and another shocking thing was that the gate man said that Tony stays home often while I’m at work and he only drives out with Halima or towards the evening .
The gate man said Tony was always home and ha-rd ly goes to work.
It sound so funny because the gate man do not know what he was saying.
Tony works and comes from work to pick me and we both come home together, the gate man is confuse and do not know what he was saying.
It can’t be my loving Tony he was referring to.
I walked to the door and opened. It was not locked.
The house was looking like where children pla-yed, throwing cloths and p@n-ts everywhere, it was messed up and music was blasting in the parlour.
No sign of Halima or Tony. I wanted to call out to Tony but kept quiet, something wasn’t right.
Why will Tony be home by this time and never informed me that he was coming home?
I quietly walked to my room where a m0@n ing noise was coming from.
I opened the door and entered and there l@yTony with Halima n-ked and ma-king out on my matrimonial be-d.
They were shocked to see me but the shock I got from them s£nt me crashing to the ground.
I hope this is a bad dream.
Someb©dy plea-se wake me up, tell me this is all a night mare because I can’t believe is real.
