Chapter Four
“Okay mom.I’m ready”.Lis said as she came
down the stairs
“What about starlake high?”.She asked as she
dropped her luggages on the floor.”Our exam is
coming up soon”
“You will still attend the school.You go to school
in the morning and go back to Empire Falls after
soon”.Elle said
“What about here.when I’m I coming here”.Lis
asked
“You can come every weekend”.Elle replied
“What about dad?”.Lis asked
“He’s still at work.I’ll explain things to him”.Elle
said
“We’ll have to go now ma’am”.Adrian said
standing up as Elle also stood up
“Okay Lis,behave yourself okay.Please don’t
cause any trouble and don’t act crazy”.Elle said
“Come on mom.You know I’m not that kind of
person except if I’m been pushed to the
wall”.She said looking at Adrian and he shot her
a confused look
“I know you are not like that dear.You have to go
now”.Elle said and Lis pulled her into a hu-g
“I love you mom”.She said
“I love you too.Now go”.She said pulling away
from her as Adrian stretched his hand towards
Lis
“Bye mom”.Lis said waving her hand and
accepting Adrian’s hand as they both teleported
to Empire Falls
“Whoa”.She exclaimed looking around in
amazement
“Yeah.I knew you would be amused”.Adrian said
looking at Lis
“I’m not talking to you.Take my bags”.She said
handled her bags to Adrian and he collected it
“Let’s go.Let me show you to our room”.Adrian
said and was about to leave but Lis stopped him
“Our room?”.She asked
“Yeah.Our room.let’s go”
“How can we sleep in the same room.I mean it’s
craziness,stupidness and foolish.I’m a lady and
you are a guy.We have to respect each other’s
privacy and that can be achieved by sleeping in
separate room”.Lis said following Adrian behind
as he walked towards their room
“Aren’t you gonna say anything?”.Lis asked when
they got inside their dorm
“Well,that’s how it is.A person and it’s guardian
do sleep in the same dorm.That’s how others
do”.Adrian replied dropping Lis luggages
“How can you allow this”.Lis asked
“It’s not me,it’s the school rule”.He replied
sitting on his bed as he used magic to arrange
all her stuffs in a wardrobe
“That’s the kitchen and that’s the bathroom”.He
said pointing to the kitchen and bathroom
“I’m not cool with all this”.Lis said
“It’s not my fault.Are you hungry?”.He asked
“No I’m not. I’m still boiling hot about what is
happening”.She said slumping on her bed which
was beside Adrian’s
“Okay.suit yourself”.Adrian said as he dashed
into the kitchen.He prepared pancakes and
spaghetti Bolognese as he served it on the table
“Are you sure you are not hungry?”Adrian asked
when he heard her stomach grumbling
“No I’m not. Stop asking me foolish
questions”.Lis said and used a pillow to cover
her face as she fell flat on the bed
This is bullshit.How can I cope with this guy.He
even cooked food of sweet and unresistable
aroma.He’s just annoying
“Hey!!”.Lis called as she sharply sat straight on
the bed
“What is it?”.Adrian asked
“I nee-d to freshen up.Get out”.She said
“Now?”.He asked
“Yes now.Now go”.She said and Adrian walked
out of the room.Lis took off her clothes as she
stepped into the bathroom and prepared a
bath.She did all the necessary things and got out
of the bathroom as she walked to her
wardrobe.She picked a top and jeans and turned
around to see Adrian staring at her,looking
shocked
“W..what are you doing in here?”.She yelled
covering herself
“I…I…I…thought you asked me to come in”.He
said still in his shock mode
“I didn’t say that fool”.She yelled
“I’m sorry.I’ll go out now”.He said and ran out of
the room
Goodness,this is what I’m talking about.I know
he did that on purpose and he’s gonna pay for it
and all the things he has done

Chapter Five
“You can come in”.Lis shouted from inside and
Adrian went in
“If you ever try that again,you will be a
goner”.She threatened
“A goner?”.Adrian scoffed and Lis opened her
mouth in shock
He scoffed at me
“You can’t even use your powers,how will you
make me a goner”.He said
“Let’s try it”.She said as she got angry and a
lightning bolt appeared in her hand.She directed
the bolt to him but he used his mind to direct it
back to her as she screamed,raising her hands
to protect herself.He appeared in front of her
and paused time as everything stopped except
from them.Lis turned her face to him and looked
at everywhere,amazed
Wow
She said in her mind.She looked at Adrian as
their gaze locked and she broke it immediately
looking else where.Adrian made the bolt
disappear and unpaused time
“You are harmless to me.I’m respecting you
because I’m your guardian so please respect
yourself”.He said and walked out of the room
“Where are you going?”.She yelled after him but
he didn’t answer
Jeez,why do I feel like a fool.Why do I feel kind
of guilty
She ignored the feeling and went over to the
dinning table to eat.She waited for Adrian for
thirty minutes after eating but he didn’t show
up.She was already getting worried not because
he hasn’t arrived but because she doesn’t know
anywhere around the school
Why would I care about him.
She stood up and decided to go look for him as
she walked out of the room.She began walking
around the school looking for Adrian as she
came across some students
“erm,please excuse me,do you know a person
bearing Adrian.He’s my guardian,I’m new here
and I’m looking for him”.She said to a guy as he
stared at her weirdly
“I don’t know him.We are pretty much in this
school so I don’t know everyone”.He said still
staring at her weirdly and she shot the look back
at him
“Wait,I think I know where he is”.The guy called
back as she turned to him
“Really,please can you take me to him.I don’t
know anywhere around this school”.Lis said
“Sure.Let’s go.Guys I’ll be back.I wanna take this
girl to go meet someone”.He informed some
people as we began walking.We got to a
enclosed place and stopped there
What’s Adrian doing here.I hope I’m not in the
wrong hands
“So is this where he is?”.I asked looking at
everywhere
“No”.He replied and I looked at him in shock
“Then where is he.Why did you bring me
here?”.She said in anger
“Because you look go”.He replied moving closer
to her
“Hey,hey,stop where you are.You are gonna get
hurt”.Lis said already scared of what he’s gonna
do to her
“Hurt,you said you are new.how can you hurt
me”.He asked as her back met with the wall
“Adrian!!”.She yelled as the guy pushed her to
the floor
“Shh.you don’t nee-d to shout.No one is coming
for you”.He said standing before her
“Please show some mercy.I don’t wanna do this.I
don’t like it.Please”.She pleaded and the guy
smi-rked
“Oh,don’t worry.you sure are gonna love it”.He
said as he laid on her.She kicked his groin and
pushed him away and was about to run away
when he dragged her and laid on her again
“Don’t try anything stupid!!”.He snarled as he
slammed his li-ps on her
“No”.She shouted as she tried to move away
from him.He kept ki-ssing her rou-ghly and was
about to pull down his jeans when he felt a hand
on his shoulder and turned his head to see a guy
and received a punch on his face
“Adrian”.Lis said in tears as he helped her
up,putting her at the back of him
“You know it’s wrong to rap-e “.Adrian said as the
guy stood up
“And who are you to tell me that?”.He yelled
already annoyed as he approached Adrian with a
blow.Then began fighting as Lis covered her
eyes in fear.She felt a hand on her shoulder after
some minutes and moved back in fear
“Calm down,it’s me”.Adrian said and moved
closer to her.She stared at him in tears as she
slowly started crying
“Let’s get you to the room”.Adrian said and
teleported to their dorm.He made her sit on her
bed and got a glas-s of water for her
“I don’t want”.She said with a shaky voice still
traumatised about what just happened
“Come on.You have to drink it.You have to calm
yourself down”.He said sitting beside her
“Where did you go.I was looking for you.I was
really worried”.She said still with a shaky voice
“You didn’t have to look for me.Come on
drink”.He said as he helped her drink some water
“Please leave me alone for now.I nee-d to be
alone”.She said as Adrian dropped the cu-p on a
table
“I can’t leave you alone.I have to protect you”.He
said and she stared at him as she looked into his
eyes
“You have to rest.Just lay down and I’ll prepare
something for you to eat”. He said standing up
and Lis just kept staring at him
“Have some rest”.He said laying her on the bed
“I don’t nee-d rest.I’m fine now”.She said sitting
straight
“You have to.It’s my duties to protect you.I can’t
let anything happen to you”.Adrian said
“You can’t?,where were you when that guy was
about to rap-e me”.She yelled and Adrian heaved
a sign of relieve
Thank goodness,she’s back
“And who asked you to step out of here?”.He
asked
“I was looking for you”.She replied
“And why would you do that.you don’t even know
anywhere around here”.He said and she opened
her mouth to say something but no words came
out
“I’ll go prepare something”.Adrian said and
walked into the kitchen
