( THE DAY OF THE WEDDING)
FLASH BACK
I woke up up feeling a bit happy and sad, Happy because my wish to leave will be fulfilled in about some hours time and sad because I had to leave one good thing behind
I stared at the plane tickets which I had kept in the drawer last night.
Brian had called me to his study to give me the ticket personally.
Ever since that day at the hospital, We haven’t really talked much to each other and that’s the way I preferred it
Now more than ever I have to stay away from Brian and it’s only because……because I found out that am in love with him
The reason why I save him from harm,Why I feel strange any time I see him with Nina,Why I feel sad any time he is angry with me, Why I get so mad at him for not seeing Nina lies,It’s all because I love him.
And I shouldn’t,I shouldn’t have fallen for him,He is way out of my league,He is forbidden for me,Not because of Michael threats and his plans but because have been lying to him,Have been ma-king a fool out of him by pretending to be a dead person and by living her life.
“I still don’t know why you ask me to prepare two plane tickets”He asked The night before.
“You don’t nee-d to know”I replied collecting the tickets from him
“Perhaps,you are going with the man you love right? That’s why you prefer to leave”He said
“You really did your home work but you failed woefully ”
“So you are saying you are not going with the guy you love?”
“Am not and st©p asking me questions”I said and turned to leave
“For crying out loud Dora,Am putting you on a plane and I have no idea where you are going or who you are going with and yet you tell me to mind my business”
“Are we really close for you to know all that?”
“Do you really want to leave knowing that we arent on good terms” He asked
“Were we ever on good terms? The only time we both agreed on some thing was when we made the deal and nothing else,So plea-se Brian, St©p meddling and just think about tomorrow,You will be marrying the woman you love and I will be leaving for good”
“You are right! I shouldn’t concern my self with you again,I wish you the best of luck”
“I think you will nee-d more of that”I said before leaving his study.
During those five days, Michael had allowed me to see my dad.
Though he was still lying on the be-d,Unconscious.
“Why not julllllet him die,He alre-ady looks like a corpse alre-ady”Michael said behind me
“Just shut up,My dad will wake up soon “I said
“Well if you say so but it’s no use waiting,I think he is dead alre-ady”Michael said
“You really are a creep! How can you say that?”I asked starring at him
“Its the truth,Am just ma-king you see reality and to bur-st your bubble a bit”
“Find some one else to see their reality and to bur-st their bubble,Am just not In the mood”I said
“Your too boring to pl@ywith today”He said and left the room.
I held my father hand and k!$$£d it softly “Soon dad,I will come back for you and together we will leave”I said softly.
When I finish,I was on my way out when Micheal said behind me
“See you at the wedding my dear sister” I didn’t give him a reply,I walked off instead.
If only he knew what I had in mind,He wouldn’t be having that smile on his face.
The door opened and Dora mother along with the stylist and some maid walked in bringing me back to reality
“My God,You look horrible”Dora mother said as she walked towards me
“What do you mean by horrible?”
“You don’t look like a happy bride to be? Is some thing wrong ?”She asked
“Nothing is wrong mom,I really am happy”I replied smiling.
“Okay then,The stylist should begin their work “She said and I nodded.
I went to shower and when I c@m£ out it was to find Nina in the room and no one else was there
I haven’t seen her for the past five days and now here she is re-ady to take her place.
“Aren’t you even surprised to see me here?”She asked
“Why should i? I alre-ady know who got you in without any one st©pping you”
“Brian of course, Isn’t he such a darling,were you thinking I won’t ever show up and take my place”She asked
“I knew your greed wouldn’t just let you leave and now that you are here,I can be at peace”I said
“Don’t make me laugh! I know for a fact that you want to stay,You want to be with Brian right?”
“Have told you countless of times,I don’t want him,You can have him for all I care,I just hope that you wouldn’t let your greed take you too far and you won’t be able to protect him from Michael”
“I don’t nee-d your darn lectures,Just pack your bags and leave,I never wanted Micheal to put you in the plan but the fool just had to,Well it’s good that you are leaving without his knowledge,Make sure you leave and Never come back”She said
“I sure will, I know what being upright is and I won’t let greed ruin my life just like it did with yours”I said
She wanted to reply but the door opened and the stylist c@m£ in
“I heard we were to do both your make up”The lady said
“Yes, She will be my maid of honour,plea-se help with her make up too”I said
The stylist were as fast as they could and as soon as they were throu-gh,I asked them to leave.
“The wedding go-wn is over there,Take it and put it on”I said.
While she put on the go-wn,I Zi-pped it for her and put on the veil and quic-kly I put on my own clothes which Was a pair of baggy shi-t and ti-ght fitting trou-sers and a cap to cover my face.
“Dora mother will be back soon,If you don’t say a thing until the service end,Then no one will notice a thing”I said
“I alre-ady know,Just leave!”She said and picking up my bag,I left the room
The plan was for me to pas-s the back entrance and according to Brian one of his most trusted guard will be there waiting to take me to the airport.
I pas-sed the back entrance without being seen and as soon as I got out of the gate,I ran towards the car, as soon as I got in,He drove off.
“We won’t be going to the airport yet,We have some where to go first”I said
“Where miss?”He asked
“Just drive,When we get there I will tell you”I said breathing in.
We drove for about a while and then the car st©pped
I looked around and saw that we were at Micheal hide out.
But how is that possible,I never told him how to get to Micheal place,So why did he bring me here.
Just then I saw four guards walking out of the house,Coming straight at the car
“Drive off! They are coming!”I yelled at the driver but he didn’t do as I said and he turned to stare at me
“Do you think you can run away”He asked Smiling
And it was then that I realised that I had been set up
The door opened and the guards pu-ll-ed me out of the car r0ûghly
“Let me go,Let go of me!”I yelled at them but they kept on pu-llling me into the house.
It wasn’t until they pu-ll-ed me into the living room that they let go of me.
“So you think you can run away right?”Micheal said and I stared up to see him standing beside a chair
He pu-ll-ed me up r0ûghly and gave me a sl@p which made me fall on the ground again
“How dare you! How dare you try to out smart me”He yelled angrily
“plea-se Michael just let me leave alone, Nina is willing to do it,She is willing to lie and help you with the money but I can’t do it,I just can’t” I said
“You have no choice Emma,Whether you like it or not you are now a p@rt in this,Ever since the day You took Dora identity”
“Can’t some thing be done? I just don’t want to do this anymore”
“You will,I won’t let some one as greedy as Nina get a hold of the money” He said
“You knew about Nina wanting it all for herself!”I asked
“I know every thing,Let’s say it was on the day you went to buy the bridal go-wn, You two were foolish as to talk about your plan in the room and it so just happen that I had had the room bugged”
“So you knew about it since then?”I asked
“I knew and I pla-yed along,Like the foolish Michael you two thought me of me but now am proving to you that am not as foolish as you thought, Right?”
“Let me go! Let me go!”I heard Nina yelling as they carried her into the room.
“Surprise my darling”Michael said to Nina who had been put on the chair
She stared at me and then at Michael again
“What’s going on?”She asked
“You are too smart to ask that”He said
“Will you just tell me what’s going on? You are suppose to be at the airport”Nina yelled starring at me
“You two really disappoint me,Most especially you Nina,I had great expectations for you but you had to throw it away because of your greed”
“So what? I worked ha-rd for that money,I deserve it all,If I want to be greedy I have the right to”She yelled at him and was rewarded with a sl@p too
“bit-ch……After helping you and your nuisance of a mother,This how you will repay me”Michael asked now angry
“You didn’t help us,I did every thing myself,you s¢v-m!!”She replied
“I didn’t want to do this but I have no choice “He said and immediately they brou-ght a gun to him and he pointed it at Nina.
“Take that thing away from me”She yelled
“One thing I hate most are people who betray me, If am betrayed by some one,He or she has to die and that is what will happen to you right here,Right now”He said
Immediately I stood up from the floor and stood in front of him
“No,Don’t Michael plea-se!”I begged
“Get out of the way Emma,This girl has betrayed us, She wanted the money all for herself”He said
“I never wanted the money but still you brou-ght me into it,She is the only one who wants the same thing as you,If you kill her now you will be losing an ally and besides the wedding dress is too good to be ruined by her blood”I said hoping he drop the gun.
“You are right! The dress is too good to be ruined by her blood,You still nee-d to wear it ,After all you are the bride”He said dropping the gun
“No am not Micheal, Am not getting married to Brian,I don’t want it”I said
He pu-ll-ed me r0ûghly “But you have no choice,You are the one I picked for the job and you are going to finish it”
“But I can’t,I can’t do it Micheal,She is willing to do it,Why don’t you let her”
“Because I don’t want her,It’s you that I want to be married to the prince,You also betrayed me,You should also suffer along with her but we can’t leave the prince standing on aisle right,So go and change”He said pushing me away
“Remember your father is still with me,Make one more mistake and I swear I will b!ow his head off”
“Take them to the cloak room and call the girls to get them both re-ady”He said to his guard
“Let go of me,This go-wn belongs to me,Am the one the prince loves,Am the one he wants to marry Micheal”Nina yelled
“But I don’t want you for him,If she fight you guys,Knock her out”He said to his guards who were pu-lling Nina away
“My darling sis,Just be a good girl and do as I say and every thing will be okay”
On hearing his words,I turned back to stare at him.
“I hate you”were the last words I said to him before being pu-ll-ed away.

With the help of the girls,I got dressed for the wedding.
The make up was re applied and when they finished,I stared at my self in the mirror
As soon as the dress was taken from Nina,They took her to another room and I wondered what they were doing to her.
I only hope that Micheal would not kill her,No matter what she is still the girl Brian love.
Brian! I wonder how he will feel when he finds out that he won’t be getting married to Nina
“THE BOSS has asked me to bring her “A man said from the door way and I was pu-ll-ed out of the room
I saw Micheal standing in front of a limousine, He was also dressed for the wedding .
“While they were heading to church,They were blocked by my guards and was f0rç£fully brou-ght here”
“So if you were asked why you were late,Just say it’s the traffic”He said
“Can’t you st©p this! Don’t you see that I don’t want this!”I yelled at him
“It’s too late to leave this ,You are now a p@rt of us and you will keep on being one until you die”He answered
“Nina wouldn’t like this one bit, Why don’t you just use Nina,She will be perfect for it”I asked
“Emma one more word from you and your father pays for it! Now get into the car and go get married to him!”He yelled at me and knowing that the threat on my father would push throu-gh if I didn’t do what he said ,I got into the car.
While the car kept going,I thought about what would happen?
How would Brian react? How would he feel when he opens the veil and sees that the person un-derneath is not the woman he loves.
I had thought that once I left, Every thing will st©p and I can start my life over again but Micheal had known about it and he had planned this in sto-re for us.
The car st©pped in front the chapel and as soon as the door opened
Natasha along with Dora mom ran towards me.
“Where have you been? You should have arrived a while ago”She yelled at me
“Just say it was the traffic”I remembered what Micheal said to me and I told them the same thing.
They helped me out of the car and while Natasha did the finishing p@rt of the go-wn
Dora mother took my hand in hers and stared at me
“You don’t look happy Dora,Are you having second thoughts about this marriage,If so tell me,Am willing to help you”she asked
“I thought you and dad wanted this marriage to happen, Marrying Brian is the only reason You signed those contract”I said
“It was both selfish of us,We wanted you to live a better life and so we gave you to him in exchange for signing the merger, We didn’t think about your feelings, We thought you were fine with it but seeing you now have made me realise that we were wrong”
“So my dear tell me, If you don’t want it to happen,I won’t let it ,I won’t let you be condemned to a loveless marriage for the rest of you life,Tell me!”She said
I thought about what she was saying, Just one word from me and I won’t have to marry Brian, Can this be another chance for me?
Just then a car parked behind the limo and when the driver got out of the car , I knew that I had to go into the church no matter what.
“Honey! “Natasha said running into micheal arms and giving him a k!ss.
He re-leased her and stared at me,Daring me to do some thing that will put my father life in danger.
“Answer me Dora! If that door opens,It would be too late”She said
“I will marry him mom, Thanks for offering to help me but I have to do this, I have to get married to him”I replied and she nodded her head in acceptance.
Micheal, Natasha and along with Dora mother went into the church.
I stood outside with Dora father ,Waiting for the time I will walk down the aisle.
“Your mother told me that you don’t want to get married! If you still have that thought in mind,You just have to say the word and I will make it happen,”He said
“I told mom the same thing and I will also tell you the same thing,I want this marriage”I replied
“Fine then, If you are sure you want it” He said and at that precise moment the door opened.
“Its time”He whispered softly and together we walked down the aisle until we got to the altar,Where Brian stood waiting for me.
Even un-der the veil,I dare not look at him, The smile on his face belonged to Nina,Nina whom he believe would be the one un-der the veil but he will be shocked to know that I am the one un-derneath it.
The priest began the wedding and he took my hand In his,Giving me a smile.
,Asmile I never returned.As soon as the prayer ended, He went to the priest and said some thing to him.
He must have noticed that some thing is wrong with me because no matter how I try,I feel nervous about the whole thing.
He c@m£ back to stand beside me and then he took my hand in his.
I was surprised when I heard the priest saying “It’s time for the exchange of rings”
This wasn’t how we rehearsed it unless Brian told him to skip the other p@rt.
I held his hand and sli-pped the ring in it and he also did with mine.
We signed the do¢v-ments that made us legally married and seeing my name linked with Brian made me realise that there was no going back for me, None at all………
“You may k!ssyour bride”The priest said.
This is the p@rt have been dre-ading ever since I walked into the church.
He tried to raise the veil and I st©pped him by putting my hand on his,Shaking my head for him not to do it
“Its okay, No nee-d to be scared Nina,You are now my wife and no one can do anything about that!”He said
And when he took hold of the veil this time,I didn’t try to st©p him
He opened it and when he saw that it was me He was shocked!!!
“You!!!! ” He said but when he noticed that the guest were watching us
He f0rç£d a smile on his face and did as the priest had said
He k!$$£d myl-ips,it was the briefest k!ssof all but it stirred me and made me feel warm.
We walked out of the church and while every one began to take picture,He pu-ll-ed me to the waiting Limo.
“What the hell is going on!!!”He yelled at me
“How come you are the one here? Where is Nina?”He yelled at me again
“I know this is not the deal we made but some thing c@m£ up,I just had to take her place” I replied
“You had no right to” do that! You had no right to walk throu-gh that aisle pretending to be Nina”He yelled at me
“What made you change your mind? I did as you asked me, You told me you wanted to leave and i prepared every thing for you, Why did you have to do this to me” He said again
“I had no choice okay, I had to come back”I said
“Liar! You keep on lying to me All the time and it pisses me off, What you did today has made me hate you more Dora and I will make your life a living hell,That I promise you”He said and got out of the car leaving me there.
“And I will make your life a living hell” Those words kept on echoing in my head
Brian meant what he said and am sure that he will carry it out.
