BRIAN POV
“Lie?”I asked starring at her in shock,What did she know?
“Why did you lie to me Brian”She asked again
“What are you talking about Emma?”I asked gently
She stared at me and then looked away, What is wrong with her? Why is she acting this way? I thought as my heart began to beat fast,Waiting for her response.
“You love me, You still want me and you still want our marriage,You coming to save me proved that,What ever you have going with Alicia is all a lie”She said.
Just knowing that she hadn’t guessed the truth made me feel so relieved.
I don’t want her knowing the truth in this manner,Not when my father is still the great king and am the king.
The day she knows the truth will be the day I hand over her right full place to her.
And I won’t be able to achieve that if I keep on being by her side.
Am nothing but trouble for her.
She nee-ds to see that am not the one for her,She has to,I thought as I left her side and went to stand by the window
“And so! What if I love you, I can also fall out of love right? “I asked
“Brian!”she called sadly
“St©p it Emma! My decision for a divorce have been made,You will grant me a divorce and I will marry the mother of my unborn child”I said
“You don’t mean it Brian”She said as the tears began to pour helplessly
“Believe what ever you want Emma, When the divorce papers are in front of you then you will certainly believe me”I said and walked out of the room.
As soon as I closed the door,I leaned on it and I could hear her cries.
It broke my heart to hear her cry but every thing will be alright with time.
She will learn to live her life with out me and I will also learn to do the same thing.
Time to get my thought into action,Seeing dad will be the first thing I do,I thought as I went in search of him.
The guards announced my arrival and I was summoned in .
“Am surprised that you didn’t barge in like you always do”He said
“That’s because have not come here for a fight,We nee-d to talk father”I said as I sat down on one of the empty chairs.
“So what are we going to talk about?”He asked
“About Emma”I replied
“What about her ?”He asked
“It’s time she have what right fully belongs to her”I said
“What?”He asked as he stood up from his chair
“We both know that a time will come when we have to give back every thing to her and that time is now father”I said
“Never,Did you hear me! I won’t give her any thing,Have worked so ha-rd for years just to get to where I am,Just to give you and your mom a good life and am not re-ady to give it up yet”He said
“I knew you were going to say that,After all you are greedy,If you weren’t greedy dad,You wouldn’t have killed your brother just to get to the throne”I said and Was rewarded with a sl@p on the face
“What I did I did for you most especially,You should be supporting me,You should be helping me not her,I am your father and she is just your………..”
“She is the victim here dad,She is the one who suffered most, Didn’t you ever feel guilty, what would you have done if the same thing had happened to me?”
“I won’t ever allow it to happen and this is all in the past,So now Son forget all this nons-en-se and be happy with her,I won’t interfere,I won’t do any thing,Just don’t tell her the truth”He begged
“Sooner or later she will find out and before that happens I want us to have given her what belongs to her”I said
“How stupid can you get,Don’t you see that all this is ours now,We don’t have any thing to give because it’s ours”He said adamantly
“Fine since you still insist on taking what’s not yours,I will take this issue to court members”I said
“What? Just for that girl you are willing to give me out”He asked
“This is not about me giving you out dad, It’s the right thing to do,So it’s either we leave this place and give her what is hers or I take it to the court members,Lets see how they see you when it’s all out in the open” I said and then left his office.
Greediness,That is what led my father into destroying a happy life.
The life that should have been Emma’s, The little I can give back I will give back to her Because it is what belong to her and her alone.
EMMA POV
I Stood in the garden starring at the moon and stars.
After the discussion I had with Brian this afternoon,I stayed in all day.
I didn’t go out to eat nor did I accept any food brou-ght to me.
All I wanted was for Brian to see how much he was hurting me with this divorce thing.
I love him and he loves me too but he is holding back because of some thing.
Ever since that fall of Alicia in the hospital,He has been on about this Divorce thing.
He wouldn’t be doing it for Alicia sake,He made me un-der stand that he never like Alicia.
Even when she got pregnant,He was still furious with her.
So why Is he suddenly saying that he wants to marry her.
There must be some thing to it and I must find out.
I thought heading back to the palace,Intent on seeing Brian and forcing the truth out of him If necessary.
I was climbing up the stairs when two guards c@m£ to me.
“What’s wrong?”I asked starring at the two of them
“The great king wishes to see you” One of them said
“This late,Can’t he see me tomorrow,I have to talk to my husband”I said to them but they held my hand
“You don’t have to go far,They are all waiting for you your Highness,You just have to come with us”He said and with out waiting for my response,They pu-ll-ed me.
I had no option than to go with them,I had to know why Brian and the great king want to see me……….
We got to the far end of the palace,We pas-sed throu-gh the kitchen and then into the hall that led to the storage room.
Have never been to the storage room before,Why would I go there when I have no business there but being there today made me feel strange.
Why would they want to see me in the storage room I thought staring at the two guards.
“See I don’t think this is good idea,I will just see them tomorrow”I said to the guards but they didn’t realease my hand.
We got to the door and they pushed me in, closing the door behind me.
The room was dark and I was frightened,I went to the door and began to knock but there was no one there.
I can’t stay locked up,I just can’t! I thought as I clutched my che-st.
Episode 45
EMMA POV
Still clutching my che-st out of the fright I felt at being locked up in strange places,I heard foot steps approach and once again I found myself looking for some where to hide because I knew that the person coming was going to harm me.
Why do I always feel this way,It happened early this morning and now its happening again.
And this time its different,I feel that it has happened before and it all started in this room but it can’t be,Have never been to the palace until I married Brian.
Even for the past Two years have never been to the storage room,So why does this place feels so familiar to me.
Just then the door opened and I shrank back,Scared of whoever walked in.
“No plea-se,plea-se don’t beat me,plea-se” on hearing that voice
I turned to see my little self pleading to who ever was at the door.
So every thing I saw this after noon was true,I thought
Just then the light was turned on and I saw the great king standing by the door starring at me with hatred in his eyes.
“Finally you are here,Do you know that this is is where it all began”He said as he took a chair and sat down on it
“What do you mean and why have you asked me to come here?”I yelled at him
“Wow,Have never seen this side of you before”He said smiling
“Where is Brian,They said he will be here,Where is he?”I asked them impatiently
“They gave you the wrong info my dear,Brian would probably be in the study,Wra-pped up with His work as usual”
“Then why have you asked to see me and why are you meeting me here?”I asked in anger
“Did you really forget every thing that happened or are you just faking it ” He asked
“What are you talking about?” I asked starring at him.
“Doesn’t this place remind you of some thing,Some thing that happened to you when you were little” He asked and as if My br@in had been waiting for that one question to make it open up,I began to remember.
From when I was the daughter of Gilbert and Sharon,Till when I was living in the mansion with the king.
The constant haras-sment by every one of them and when I mean every one, I also mean Brian.
And then the meeting of Peter Chadwick,The fire incident and being taken away by him.
I sat still as every thing that have been missing in my head for years c@m£ back to me.
“You remember right?”He asked smiling down at me and I stared at him in horror
“You were the one ?”I asked in tears
“Yes I was the one, I was the one who hated you for years,The one who had made you suffer for every little thing his son did ,The one who had killed your parents and had taken the throne from them”He said angrily.
“But why?we were your family too,How could you have done that to us”I yelled at him
“Because I was greedy,I wanted every thing for myself,My Stupid step father had to will the throne to his son,Leaving me nothing,If he knew he was not going to be p@rtial about it why the hell did he adopt me and made me his son”
“Gilbert too had to be a pompous j£rk about it, So many times he told me that I was just a bastard and made me feel so little”
“He married a very beautiful girl and bec@m£ the king,I was so jealous,All I wanted was for him to die and I should step in and that happened.”He finished
“Due to your instigation right? You killed both my parent and Then you wanted to kill me too, That was why you started that fire in this room years ago?”I asked him feeling so very angry.
“Yes,I wanted to,At first I wanted you to die in that car with them but Baxter had to be a coward about it,He found a way to get you out of the car leaving only your parents in it”
“Baxter,If you are saying Baxter,Do you mean Dora father?”I asked
“Of course who else do we know as Baxter,You even fooled them by acting as their daughter,Why you and Dora had to have the same face keeps on puzzling me,Maybe it’s the will of God or maybe it was your fate because you had to come back into the palace and you did, Fooling every one of us that you were Dora when The real Dora is in hiding”He said
“What? Is she still Alive,I thought she was dead?”I asked
“Don’t pl@ydumb? You have been hanging around with William and Brian,Didn’t they tell you any thing?”He asked
“So what you are saying is that Brian knew who the real Dora is ?”I asked
“Of course he knew,Why do you think he bec@m£ friendly towards Alicia”He said
“Alicia! Alicia is Dora?”I asked looking stunned
“Of course she is and let me guess,No one seemed to tell you about it? Well now you know,My son will be with his right bride and she will give him ton of kids,Some thing you will never be able to do?”He said
I sat still listening to every thing he said and also wonder why Brian never told me that Alicia is Dora.
“Don’t fret over it, Alicia is Dora and since she is back,It’s time for her to take her place”
“Never! Brian loves me and am Brian legal wife”I said
“That won’t be for long and as for saying that Brian loves you! That’s a whole lie,Brian doesn’t love any b©dy but him self, My son is just like me in many ways”He said
“That’s a lie! Brian is not a cold hearted murderer like you”I yelled at him.
“He is and that is why he agreed for me to bring you here”He said
“What? ”
“He c@m£ to me to tell me every thing he found out about you and told me that he is not re-ady to let the throne go and that I had to find a way to get rid of you just like I did in the past”
“Lies,You are lying”
“Back when you were little,He treated you bad right? With contempt,He wanted you to die and that was why I took those steps in the past,It was because Brian asked me” He said
“But you didn’t die and you had to return into his life,ma-king him fall so madly in love with you,He might be a fool In love but am not and this time,There will certainly be no mistake “He said as he stood up
“What do you plan to do to me? What are you going to do to me” I yelled at him.
“Some thing that I should have done a long time ago”He replied and then knocked on the door
Two guards walked in and they c@m£ straight to me.
pu-lling Me into a nearby seat, They began to tie me up.
“You cant do this,Let me go,Let me go”I yelled at him
“Tie her ti-ghtly,I don’t want her to escape for the second time”He said and when they had finished
He walked towards me and put a tape over my mouth.
“You look just like your mom but it’s a pity that you will be joining them soon”He said as he walk to the door
“Make sure you do it right,I don’t want any mistakes,So long Helen “He said calling me by my real name.
Helplessly I watched the guards pouring the fuel in the room
I tried to loose the rope and re-move the tape,So I will be able to scream out for help but it was to no avail.
The guards stood by the door,Holding the matches,re-ady to light it.
“plea-se don’t! plea-se don’t!” I begged within me but the look on their faces could show that they had no intention of ever helping me.
BRIAN POV
I was in my study,Dealing with some do¢v-ments when the fire alarm began .
The door opened and Peter along with my guards c@m£ into the room.
“You have got to get out of the house your majesty,There is fire”Peter said .
“What about every one,Are they okay?”I asked as I went out with them
“We have managed to get everyone out sir”Peter said as we all got outside
“Have you called the fire fighters?”I asked
“They are on their way”Peter said as we finally got to where the others were.
My mom and dad along with Alicia and the workers all stood out side.
There was no sign of Emma,I thought as I began to look for her.
“Oh Brian,Your child and I are both scared”Alicia said as she hvgged me
I pushed her away from me that she staggered back
“You said every one was here!Where is my wife?”I yelled at Peter
“I thought she made it out side your majesty,Isn’t she here?”He asked and I knew that Emma was still inside.
“Where did the fire start from?”I asked
“The storage room”Peter replied and on hearing that I took to my heels.
Every one called me back but I didn’t answer,All I was thinking of was Emma.
It’s all happening again, What happened years ago is happening again but the difference this time is that I can save her,I wasn’t able to do so when we were little but I can definitely do that now.
The house was In total chaos but I didn’t care,All I wanted to do was to find my wife.
I went straight to the storage room and kicked the door open.
The room was in so much fire and for a while I thought that Emma had been burnt to death but then I saw her on the chair,All tied up and it seemed like she had fainted.
quic-kly I ran to her and began to untie the rope,She was Unconscious,I thought as I checked for her pulse.
As soon as she was free,I carried her into my arms and out into safety.
