“Dan, have you got everything re-ady?!”
“Get what re-ady, sir?”
I hissed and sma-ck the back of his head.
“Didn’t I asked you to buy some chocolates and flowers?!”
“Oh! Yeah, they are re-ady!”
I nod and look at myself in the mirror, I smile as I admire myself. I like br@gging about how S-xy and h0t I am,, I’m not ungrateful, I love yo admire what God gave to me.
“Sir, why do we nee-d chocolates and flowers?”
“You don’t nee-d to know” I paused and turn back to face him.
I narrow my eyes.
“And you, why did you take so long to come back?”
“I-i,, I-i,, saw someone after I bought the items”
“Who did you see?”
“A,, distant relative!”
“Oh!” I nod.
I know he is lying,, he went to see that man, I can just take him to Ian as a prime suspect but if I do, we won’t know who he’s working for.
I nee-d to know who that man is. And if I continue to tail Dan it will be a long time before I catch that man, should I just ask him directly?.
I sighed.
“Dan, sit”
He shakes his head.
“No, thank you, sir!”
“I said sit, I wanna talk to you”
“Sir,,,,,”
“Sit!!” I ordered.
He reluctantly sits on my be-d, I sat next to him and sigh.
“Dan, is something bothering you?”
“No, sir” he answered quic-kly.
“Are you sure? Listen, if someone is threatening you, or forcing you to do anything you can tell me and I promise I will help you”
“No one is threatening me” he said pinching the middle of his palm.
Dan has been with me for many years now, and I know how he behaves when he’s nervous. And right now, he’s hella nervous.
“Are you sure?”
“Y-yes” he stuttered.
“Nons-en-se!!” I growled.
He bows his head.
“Do you think I’m a fool? Ok asking you nicely but you wanna talk. You think I don’t know you’ve been meeting up with a man lately?
You are acting suspicious of late and I have been tailing you, I know you always go to see a man, just tell me who that man is and I will make sure to keep you out of this!”
“Sir, I,,,,,, ”
“And don’t fuvking lie!! You should be lucky that my brother wasn’t the one questioning you now or you’d be a dead man by now! So start talking!!”
Just then my door bur-st open and Ian strode in.
His hands fisted, his eyebrows lowered and pu-ll-ed closer together and hisl-ips ti-ght£ñ, his jaw tensed and jut forward slightly.
His expression screams anger, rage.
“So it’s true, there’s really a spy in my mansion!!” He said.
He must have heard me talking to Dan.
“G-general, I,,,, ”
“Shut up!!” Ian growled.
“Ian, I just have suspicions, I don’t really know if he’s a spy or not” I told Ian.
“Really?” He turns to br@ndon. “Take him to the dungeon for questioning!”
“Yes, sir!”
Dan follows br@ndon out silently,,,, though I’m suspecting Dan might be a spy but he’s my as-sistant and had being with me for many years.
I feel bad seeing br@ndon take him away,, I know Ian is gonna toture him to get the truth out of him.
I sigh and shake my head.
“Now, the reason I c@m£ is because I heard some maids gossiping about flowers and chocolates,,,, what’s that all about?”
“I asked Dan to get them for me,,, I wanna apologise to someone so I’ll nee-d them”
“Apologize to someone? Who did you offend?”
I frown,,, ok, I know he’s my older brother and all, but I don’t have to tell him everything, right?.
Hi us on plus two three four eight zero five five eight eight nine one eight three on watsapp to get added to our group. .
“You wouldn’t know her!”
“Her? You have a ‘ her ‘ to apologise to now?”
I blinked ra-pidly.
“N-no” I stutter shortly. “I have to go, see you later, brother!”
“Come back here, I,,,,”
I dash out and slams the door shut.
“Phew!” I breathe in relief.
I don’t wanna listen to him right now,, Ian might seem reserve, but he actually talks,,, no, nags a lot.
Now,,, let’s head over to Britt’s.

I take out the yogurt from the fridge and head back to the living room. Britt is curled up in the sofa, fli-pping throu-gh channels.
I sat next to her and take a second look at her dress. A loud g@sp leaves my mouth.
I point my f!nger at her.
“You thief!”
She frowns.
“Me thief?”
“Yes! W-what is my dress doing on your b©dy? I thought we talked about you going throu-gh my closet?”
She smiles and blinks her eyes innocently, she takes a handful of popcorn and stuffs it in her mouth. Then she shakes her head.
“What do you mean by that?”
She didn’t reply but start to chew on her popcorn. I narrowed my eyes and gr-ab her face, I f0rç£d her mouth open and the popcorn in her mouth poured out.
“Now speak missy!!”
She laughs.
“Ok, I was waiting for you but you weren’t coming, so I took your dress and put it on, it’s the only way I could comfort myself”
I sigh and eyed her.
“Lucky you!”
Right on cue, we heard a knock on the door.
“I will get it!” I said.
I stride to the door and open it, Javier stands outside with a bright smile but his smile falters when he sees me.
He tilts his n£¢k to look inside.
“Aurora, where’s Britt?” He asked.
My gaze goes down to his hand and I a bouquet of flowers and a,,, chocolate box?.
“What are you doing here, Javier?” I asked him.
“I’m here to see Britt” he tries to go inside but I st©pped him.
“Why?”
“I kinda offended her, I’m here to apologise”
I look inside, Britt is focused on the tv. I can’t let Javier come in, or it’ll cause Britt to panic again.
“Javier, I don’t think you should see her now”
“Why?”
“This is not the place to talk, why not wait for me in your car, we will talk somewhere else”
“B-but,,, ”
“Just listen to me”
He stays silent for a few minutes before he nods and head back to his car.
I shut the door and walk back to Britt. I sat next to her.
“Who was that?” She asked.
“Oh, it’s,,, it’s erm,,,Dean!”
“Dean? Why did he come here?!”
“He s£nt his driver to come get me, he said something happened at the mansion”
“Oh!” She exclaims sadly.
She slumps back onto the sofa and toss the remote control on the table.
“So, you are leaving”
“Yes, but I will be back later, tonight”
“You’re gonna sleep over?”
“Yes”
She smiles.
“Ok!”
I got up, pick my purse and phone, I wore my shoes. I k!$$£d her forehead and head out towards Javier’s car.

“My brother suspected you are a spy, are you gonna say you’re not?” General asked me.
Right now we are in the dungeon, the General is interrogating me.
I’m chained to a pole.
“It’s true, General, I’m a spy” I replied.
“Who are you working for?!”
I seal my mouth. He walks closer to me and sm-irks.
“Considering you are my brother’s as-sistant, you’ve been with him for a long time,, I will go easy on you only if you cooperate with me”
I didn’t say anything, I looked down,,,, I mean what can I say, even though I’m a spy, I don’t know who my real boss is,,, the guy I’m working un-der is doesn’t also know the real boss.
My family is with them, if I say what I know I don’t know what will become of my family.
“Who are you working for?! Don’t make me ask you that again!!” The General growled.
I shake my head.
“I don’t know”
“You don’t know?! Or you don’t wanna say it?!”
“I don’t know, General”
“You wanna say you don’t know who you are working for? You don’t know your boss?!”
“I don’t know, General, I swear I don’t know”
He nods and laughs humourlessly.
“This is gonna be a long and interesting interrogation” he turns to br@ndon.
“br@d, get the devices re-ady!!” He orders.
“Yes!!”
My heart st©pped working when I see br@ndon pu-lling out torture devices, my eyes bulge out in fear.
Should I speak the truth or not,,,, what about my mom and younger sister,,,, what’s gonna happen to them?

“pu-ll over, plea-se” I tells Javier.
He nods and pu-ll over, I think we can talk here.
“Why did you st©p me, I thought we were going to a restaurant”
I shake my head.
“No, we can talk here”
He nods.
“So, what are we talking about?”
I take a de-ep breath,, I don’t know how to discuss this, but I’m gonna try.
“What happened between you and Britt?”
“Nothing, we just had S-x and the next morning she kicked me out”
“Well, Javy, Britt told me the same thing. I know to you it might be normal, but it’s not to Britt.
You see, Brittany doesn’t believe in premarital S-x, but it just happened and she panicked that’s why she kicked you out.
And I also think one of the main reasons she let it happen is because she is just trying to recover from her heartbreak. But it since has happened what do you think of her now? A slut? ,,, Or do you feel used?”
He frowns and stares blankly at me. He shakes his head.
“I don’t think that way,,, I know she’s not a slut, after all I’m the first man she’s ever knew. And I don’t feel used, I also wanted her or I wouldn’t have let it happen”
I nod, that’s good.
“So, what do you plan to do next? I don’t want Britt to keep beating herself up”
Javier sighs de-eply.
“I will take responsibility”
“Responsibility?!”
“Yes, I will give us a try and see where it will take us,,, who knows, we might end up husband and wife”

“Javier, think before you speak!! Relationsh!ps are not something you joke with, and besides, Britt just got out of a bad relationsh!pand she is heartbroken,,,, I don’t want that to happen to her again!!”
“Aurora, I know what I’m talking about and I’m serious,,,I will try my best not to hurt her, I just wanna know what she thinks about me”
“Really?!”
“Really!!”
I close my eyes and exhale softly.
“Thank God, I will talk to Britt about your decision”
“No, I wanna do it myself”
“But she doesn’t want to see you”
He smiles brightly.
“Don’t worry, I’m very stubborn and I won’t give up until she decides to see me” he said.
I knit my brows.
Why does it sound like Javier is in love with Brittany?
“Anyways, I should take you back to the mansion” he said and I nod abs£ntmindedly.

Javier st©ps outside the mansion.
“We’ve arrived m’lady!”
I frown and shake my head.
“I think I should go with you”
“No, I have to do this myself”
“But she’s my friend and I un-derstand her better”
“Don’t stress yourself, I will get to know her more better soon”
“You don’t un-derstand, she has a bad temper and she might,,,,”
“Don’t worry my dear sister-in-law, I’m re-ady for all her tantrums”
I ignore him calling me sister-in-law and sigh,,, seems like he’s really determine to do this alone.
“Fine!”
I open the door and step out of his car, I wave at him and head inside the mansion.
“Finally, some alone time!” I thought to myself.
A maid rushes to me the moment I step in, she falls on her knees and begin to cry. I frown in confusion.
I tried to help her stand up but she wouldn’t let me.
“Hey, what happened? Why are you crying?”
“Miss Aurora, plea-se help me, help me”
“How can I help you?”
“plea-se help me, the General took him away”
“Him? Who is him?”
“Daniel, plea-se, Miss”
“Who is Daniel?”
She gulps quic-kly.
“He’s,, he’s my b©yfri£nd,,, the General took him to the dungeon, I don’t know what they are doing to him right now”
“Dean took your b©yfri£ndto his dungeon?”
She nods ra-pidly.
“It’s ok, I will go talk to him”
She smiles and quic-kly stands up and embr@ces me.
“Thank you, Miss Aurora,,, the General is in the dungeon now”
“Ok!”
I guess I’m not getting any alone time soon.
I step away from her and head to the dungeon.

“G-general,, I swear I don’t know him” Dan cries as Ian lands his wh!pon his che-st.
Ian ignores his cries, he lifts up the wh!pand lands it on Dan’s che-st three times. He pause and drops his hand holding the wh!pon his side and glares at Dan.
“Tell me who you are working for!! Or I can continue torturing you until you speak!!” He snarled at Dan.
“I’m,,,I’m telling you the truth, g-general, I don’t know him” Dan said.
Ian nods and pinches the bridge of his nose.
“I can see you don’t want to say it” Ian growls.
He raises his wh!pand just as he’s about to land it on Dan, s voice st©ps him.
“Dean!!”
Ian turns and sees Aurora standing by the door, she quic-kly rushes in and glanced at Dan. She shakes her head at the sight of him, the skin on his che-st had r!pp£dopen.
“What are you doing here, My Phoebe?” Ian asked her.
“Nothing,,, I was just looking for you” she said with a smile.
She turns back to Dan and hisses painfully, as if she’s the one in pain.
“Dean, isn’t this Javier’s as-sistant?”
Ian nods and glared at Dan.
“Why are you beating him? What did he do?”
“This bastard is a spy! Fuvking spy in my mansion!!”
Aurora g@sp and turns to take a look at Dan before turning back to Ian.
“Spy?”
“Yes! I have been trying to make him talk but he wouldn’t say anything!”
Aurora takes a step closer to Dan, he’s facing down. Aurora puts her hand un-der his chin and raised his head.
She look straight in his eyes and frown.
*His eyes held guilt, I can clearly tell he’s regretting something* she thought. *But I don’t think Dean can make him talk if he goes on like this,,,he seems to be scared of something*
She moves back to Ian, she looks around and sees a chair in a corner. She smiles.
“br@ndon, get that chair over here”
br@ndon nods and brings the chair over.
“Dean, sit down” she tells Ian.
“No, I have interrogation to do”
“Sit down and rest a little, you’ve been interrogating him for a long time but have you gotten anything from him?”
Ian stays silent, clenching and unclenching his jaw.
“Just sit, alright?”
Ian looks at the chair and shakes his head in disapproval.
Aurora frowns.
“You don’t wanna sit down?”
“The chair is dirty!”
“Oh? You don’t know what those less privilege go throu-gh, this is nothing compared to their situation,,, so sit down!!” She gritted out.
Ian grumbles silently but sits down anyway.
“Good boy!” She smiles.
“Why did you make me sit down?”
“Because I wanna interrogate him myself”
Ian stands up abruptly.
“No!”
“You don’t have a say in this!” She said firmly.
“I can’t let you talk to him”
“I will talk to him”
“You won’t, this is my dungeon and whatever I said here goes!!!”
“That doesn’t apply to me, I will talk to him, your own way of talking is not ideal”
Ian turn away from her, he fist his left hand.
“br@ndon take Phoebe out of here, she’s disturbing my interrogation!!”
Aurora glared at br@ndon and he dared not go near her.
“I’m disturbing your interrogation? Do you think he’ll speak even if you torture him forever?”
“That shouldn’t be your problem!!”
Aurora nods.
“Fine, I’ll leave,,,, I’ll leave not only your dungeon but also your mansion!!”
She turns to leave, but Ian quic-kly caught hold of her hand and pu-ll-ed her back.
Her b©dy flu-shed against his and he wra-p his arm around her w@!st ti-ghtly.
“What are you doing? Let go!” She struggled against his hold.
“Stay still”
“No! Let me go!”
Ian inhale de-eply and glares at Dan, he turns back to Aurora and stares into her eyes tenderly.
*Why does she always threaten to leave me?*
“When will you st©p threatening to leave me?” He asked softly.
“When will you st©p giving me orders?!”
“I don’t give you orders”
“Have you forgotten so soon? You just ordered me to leave!”
“That is different”
“Humph!!” Aurora huffed.
Ian and Aurora stays silent for a few moments, Ian sighs.
“Fine, you can talk to him but un-der one condition”
“Condition?!”
“Yeah,,, you must promise to be free around me, we will go back to how we were and we will start doing what normal couples do”
Aurora frown.
“What do normal couples do?”
Ian clears his throat and sm-irks.
“How about I show you later?”
“Huh?” Aurora asks even more confused.
Ian chuckles lightly.
“Let’s leave it for later, go on with your interrogation”
“Weirdo!”
Aurora leaves Ian’s grip and moved closer to Dan.
“Dan?!”
“Miss Aurora” Dan whisper.
“I know you are in pain,, I’m sorry, but I wanna ask you some questions, can you talk?”
Dan smile and nods.
“Thank God you c@m£” he said.
“Hmm, I want you to answer me honestly ok?”
He nods.
“Who are you working for? Why did you betray Javier?”
“Miss Aurora, I honestly don’t have much to say since I know little to none,,, but promise me you will persuade the General to help me”
“Help you? What do you mean?”
“T-they,, they have my family and they threatened me with their lives if I don’t comply”
*I knew he wouldn’t do this willingly* Aurora thought.
Ian and br@ndon exchange looks as Ian grip his wh!pimpatiently.
“Who are they?” Aurora asked.
“I don’t know who they are,, I just know they have my family and they only let me speak with them once in a while”
“You don’t know who they are? How come you are working for them if you don’t know them?” Aurora asked again.
“I only know the man I’m working for,, but he’s not the real boss and the boss he’s working for us also not the real boss”
I frown,, according to him the people involved in this are many.
“plea-se, tell the General to help me save my family”
“Where did they keep your family?”
“I don’t know,, they always change their location everytime they let me see them”
Ian steps forward and fetch out his gun from his pocket and aim it at Dan.
“He’s useless, I might as well kill him!”
Aurora held his hand and drops it down slowly.
“Hey, Dean, we can’t kill him, he’s still talking”
“Then let him talk fast”
Aurora faces Dan.
“Ok, we will find way to rescue your family but first you have to tell us exactly what you help them do”
“I don’t do anything other than give them information of what is going on in the mansion,,, every details”
“Huh? Why?”
“Their target is you, Miss Aurora,,, they want you dead”
“Why do they want me dead?”
“That I don’t know”
Aurora sighs and stand up straight.
*They want me dead,,,, it must be the people that killed my parents* she smiles. *Finally I’m going somewhere*
“His confession is useless and he should die!!” Ian growled angrily.
“No!!”Aurora said.
“No, he will help us”
“How?”
“Well, now that we know he’s the spy and we also know why he’s doing it, why not keep him alive and use him to lure out the main culprit”
“I don’t un-derstand”
Aurora rolls her eyes.
“I will explain it to you later, but first free Dan and let him go get some treatment for his wounds”
Ian scoffed.
“Free him?”
“Yes, hurry up,,, he will be if great help so we nee-d him to be healthy”
Ian grumbles silently and glares at Dan as if his glare would s£nd Dan to his grave.
He throws his wh!pon the ground r0ûghly.
“br@ndon, unchain him and take him to the infirmary for treatment”
“Yes, sir!”
He gr-abs Aurora’s arm.
“You are coming with me”
“br@ndon, make sure he’s properly treated” Aurora said as Ian drags her out with him.
