Cali’s Pov:
“Cali, what’s wrong with you? Why did you have to exchange words with her?” Mum asked as she sat next to me and i huffed.
“Seriously, mum? What’re you talking about? Didn’t you see what she did to me? She was so rude” I said in a pissed manner.
“Cali, plea-se. You’re new here and have to be careful. Just try as much as possible to stay out of trouble, okay?”.
“Whatever” I muttered with an eye roll and folded my hands.
Just then, the two people in the office stepped out and I breathed a sigh of relief, knowing I’d soon be done with all these.
Mum and I stood up and went into the office and there we met the chubby looking man busy with some files.
“Good day, sir. I’m back with her” mum said and I wondered when she’s met him before.
“Oh! plea-se, take a seat”, the man replied in a brisk and mum and I sat in front of him.
Then, he brou-ght out a form and started scribbling down on
“So, you’re….Cali Jenner, 17 years old, light skinned, long hair, grey eyes, mind re-ader, banshee…” He murmured all these as he wrote them down on the form and I cringed in amusement of the necessities of all those details.
When he was done, he pas-sed the form to me with a pen.
“Here; sign it” he said and I slowly went throu-gh the details before inputting my signature.

“Good. And welcome to the White Diãmônds institute, girly. You’ll be taken to your room from here and in a short time, an orientation will be held for all the freshers. Endeavour to be in it so you can get to know the rules and regulations guiding this place to avoid getting into trouble. Everything you nee-d to know about this institute will be highlighted at the orientation. So, like I said, make sure you don’t miss it.
“Once again, welcome to the Diãmônd’s institute”, he concluded with a warm smile and stretched out his hand for a handshake and I hesitated before taking it.
“Thank you” I said in a mild voice and quic-kly collected my hand.
“Thank you so much, sir. I just hope she’ll be safe here” mum said.
“Well, of course. As long as she keeps to the rules and avoids trouble” he replied and I rolled my eyes, avoiding mum’s glance..
“She…she will. We’ll be on our way now”,
“Hold on” the chubby man said and reached for his telephone.
He requested the pres£nce of someone and in less than 60 seconds, the person showed up – a young boy.
“Take her to her room. Room 9 – ap@rtment 4” he instructed the boy.
“Yes, sir”,he replied and started walking out of the office.
“Thank you so much, sir. We’ll be on our way now” mum said to the chubby man.
“Okay, sure. Take care of yourself”.
And we finally left the God-damn office.

The boy as-signed to take me to my room was alre-ady ahead of us and mum and I had to hasten our steps in order to catch up with him.
After walking throu-gh the pas-sage for a long time, we finally got out to the open space and I g@sped at the buildings in front of me.

It was more like i had entered a different world as soon as we stepped out of the pas-sage because the sight in front of me was undescribable.

It was…paradise.
Wow!!
The place was sooo big and had tall buildings all over. There was a big fountain fall in the center of the building, bringing out sparkles as it flowed.
A lot of boys and girls could be sp©tted all over, doing one thing or the other.
It looked more like a palace.
Woahh!
“Come on, Cali. Let’s get your things from the car” mum broke into my fancy thoughts and I followed her to the car where she opened the booth and brou-ght out my bag of clothes.
Mehn! This sh*t is real.
The boy who was leading us also had to st©p walking when he noticed we’d st©pped at mum’s car.
“You’ll be fine here, Cali. Okay? I promise to come visiting at every slightest opportunity they give. Remember to be a good girl and stay out of trouble. Okay?” Mum said as she t©uçhed my cheeks affectionately.
I sniffed and suddenly got moody.
“Okay, mum. Extend my regards to dad and Owens” I mumbled and she smiled and brou-ght out a n£¢klace from her bag.
“Here. Always have this with you. It should remind you of me so you don’t miss me much,,okay?” She said as she locked the pretty n£¢klace around my n£¢k and we hvgged after that.
“I love you, Cali” she whispered into my ears.
“Love you too, mum” I winced and we pu-ll-ed away from the hvg.
“Okay. Its time. Don’t keep the young man waiting”, she chuckled but I only let out a rueful smile as i sluggishly carried my bags.
I waved at her one last time and she finally got into the car before I walked away.
Oh,God!
This has really happened. I’m now alone!
I’mfu-cking alone.
“Hurry up, miss. I’ve got other things to do” the boy said impatiently and continued walking away and I just watched him without saying a word.
I kept my gaze on the floor, thinking of what my life would be in the institute.

Still walking, I saw something that gr!pp£dmy attention.

A group of girls were gathered and one of them was ma-king lights with our hands.
Like…the crown of sparkling light just kept rotating in her hand while the others giggled.
It was so beautiful, but too bad, I couldn’t admire it for long as a result of the boy who was moving like a car.
We walked for a long time and finally got to a p@rticular ap@rtment that was dazzlingly beautiful.

We had to take the stairs, coming across a lot of people and finally, we got to the “Royal” room.

At last.
“That’s your room” the boy simply said and left.
Hm.
I looked at the room and confirmed it was indeed room 9.
I took in a de-ep breath and was about opening the door when I heard strange voices.
Hold on; it didn’t even occur to me.
Would I be staying alone? Or I’d actually have room mates?
I flin-ched at the sound I was hearing because they didn’t seem to be normal. It actually seemed to be…
I turned the knob and slowly pushed the door open and my eyes drooped at the sight in front of me.

Cali’s Pov:
I flin-ched in horror.
What the heck??
The one on t©p was f!ngering the other while su-cking her b00bs as she m0@n ed un-der her arms.
But as soon as they saw me, they got separated immediately.
“What thefu-ck? Are your hands missing or you actually don’t know how to knock?” The one who was being f!ngered said but I couldn’t reply as I was too shocked to do so.
“Is she dumb or what?” She asked again and the other jumped down from the be-d and wra-pped a towel around her b©dy.
It was a bunk be-d and they’d been using the one at the t©p.
“Let me guess? You’re the new rommie?” she asked as she stood in front of me, placing her right hand on her w@!st.
“Well…that depends because…I don’t think I wanna be a room mate here” I replied and the one at the t©p scoffed.
She was still lying stark nak*d on the be-d.
“What’s your room number?” The one in front of me asked.
“Well…the man had said it’s room 9. But I wanna believe he’s mistaken” I replied and she chuckled.
“You’re not mistaken, sweetie. Welcome to the family. That’s your be-d. And you can keep your clothes over there” she replied, pointing out to the locations.
Woah! So…this is really my room?

I took in a final breath and decided to go stay somewhere else for the meantime. But come to think of it, I’m actually very hungry.
I haven’t eaten since morning.
I turned around to walk away when I saw a startling sight.

I scoffed and itched my eyes to be sure I wasn’t dreaming.
She was walking towards me, smiling.
“Baby!” She called and immediately, I ran into her arms.
“Oh my God!! Mum!!” I called in excitement as i hvgged her and she laughed.
“Wh…What’re you doing here, mum? I mean…I thought you’ve left alre-ady? And..how did you know the road to my room?” I asked curiously, ignoring the few students that were pas-sing by.
*Fool* I heard her say in her hear and I bec@m£ confused.

“I actually c@m£ to tell you something important, dear. I actually c@m£ to tell you you’re very stupid” she said and my jaws dropped.
I moved back a little, taking a proper look at her and suddenly, I heard her laugh in her head.
“You… you’re not my mum”, I said, shaking my head and she laughed out.
“Of course, I’m not. I can never be a mother to a spoilt br@t like you” she replied and hit me lightly on the head and afterwards, transformed into someone else.

I recoiled in horror.
She actually changed into a young lady – the same lady that’d spilled drink on me a while ago.
“You???” I called in shock.
“Yes – me. I just nee-ded to get back at you by pla-ying with your emotions” she replied and my eyes wi-de-ned more.
“Hold on..how did you do that???” I found myself asking instead of being angry.
“Well..its my own gift. As long as I’ve had contact with someone, I can transform into his/her face anytime I want” she replied with a shrug and I g@sped.
“Woahhh!! Like seriously??? That’s incredible!” I exclaimed.
“Yeah…thanks” she replied with an eye roll.
Now, I remember. Mum had held her hand while trying to separate us. So, that’s how she’d made contact with her?
“Anyway, next time, be sure not to pl@ysuch pranks on me, tho” I warned with less effect in my voice and she rolled her eyes again.
“Um…by the way, do you where I can get something to eat?” I asked and she gave me a stare from head to toe.
“Hmm. Guess you’re worth helping. Come with me” she replied and started walking away and I followed behind.

She took me to the amazing cafeteria which was three times the seize of my room.
Gosh!
It was clas-sic and was filled with other students but luckily, it wasn’t entirely noisy.
The floors were glas-sy and same were the walls that I could actually see my reflection in them.
Everyone was seated neatly on a table, discussing with his/her p@rtner (s) while eating and gosh! They were all dressed so neatly and clas-sy.
The lady leading me took me to the reception where I met about four ladies dressed uniformly.
There were other students as well, placing orders.
“Order anything you want. Its free” the lady leading me said and I g@sped.
Whaaaat?
“F…Free?” I asked, stunned.
“Yes, doll. Everything is free – courtesy of the government” she replied and I shook my head in amusement.
Wow!!! This is incredible.
I took the menu from the table and scanned my eyes throu-gh it and finally settled for some cheese fries and eggs.
“Weird combination” the lady said after i’d told it to one of the attendants.
It was given to me together with a drink and I found it amusing they didn’t ask for a dime.
Are you kidding me?? This sh*t is real! So, anyone can eat as much as he/she wants without thinking of the cost?

The lady also ordered hers and after which, we looked for an empty table to use.
“So, what’s your name?” She asked as we sat down, facing each other.
“Cali. And you?” I replied.
“Well…I’m Diane and I’m also a fresher. So, what’s your gift?” She asked.
“According to them – I’m a mind re-ader and a banshee”.
“Woah! You’re a double diamond!!” She exclaimed.

“A diamond with double gifts. Wow! I think I envy you”.
Whatever.
“That reminds me – why is this place called the white Diãmônds when unimaginable acts takes place here? I mean…shouldn’t you be more of an angel and all that?” I asked and she busted into laughter.
Okay…what’s funny?
“Oh,my gee! You’re so funny, girl” she said with a little laughter.
“Well…anyone would think the same, but…simply because they’re called White Diãmônds doesn’t mean they’re completely saints. Although…they’re better than the Black Diãmônds”.
“The Black Diamonds?” I repeated.
“Yes, they also have the Black Diãmônds. According to the story I heard, they used to be one before – just Diamonds. But they had a mas-sive problem which led to them being splitted and hence – White and Black Diãmônds.
“The White Diãmônds focuses more on helping the government and other clean organizations, while the Black Diãmônd’s focuses on helping the bad guys.
“For instance, there might be a sh!pcontaining golds and silver which should be useful to the government. You can hi ishmeal on+233544142683 to be added to story headquarters room for more exciting stories. The White Diãmônds would go to claim the gold to the sh!pto deliver it to the government, while the Black Diãmônds would go to claim the sh!pto deliver it to the bad guys and in the process, there’d be a fight”.
“Hold on” I cut in.
“Do they s£nd their students on missions?”
“Yes – of course. As soon as we begin our training, we’ll be s£nt on missions from time to time so we can perfect our gifts” she replied and I scoffed.
Like…seriously???
“So, the Black Diãmônds are more like the bad guys and its been impossible for the government to bring them down because they also have heavy sponsors in the government – yeah. They’re some secret people in the government who’re strongly supporting them and they’re p@rt of the bad guys they work for.
“In a nutshell, the White Diãmônds and Black Diãmônds are sworn enemies. The White Diãmônds helps the government, while the Black Diãmônds helps the bad guys who are also in the government” she concluded and gulped from her drink while I cogitated on the story.
Wow! It just left me speechless.
“So…the two Diãmônds are enemies?” I asked and she nodded and ate from her meal.
Hm. The story was indeed incredible, driving my very attention around it.
The Black Diãmônds. I wonder what they look like. And I hope I don’t get to be on any stupid mission that’d warrant me getting into a fight with them.
Gosh! I may be bad-mouthed, but I hate such fights.
“Come on, Cali. Eat up. The orientation might start anytime soon” she said and I shrugged out of my thoughts and started eating.
The story kept ringing in my head as I tried to fiction it. I can’t believe this is the life I’ll be living from now on.
But…do they really graduate?

“Oh my geeeee!” A lady suddenly screamed in the cafeteria and before I’d lift my eyes to her direction, Diane also g@sped.
What’s happening??
“He’s here!!!” She said in a light scream, covering her mouth with her palms and I noticed everyone was now staring at the door.
I turned immediately to have a look and saw a boy dressed in white walking into the cafeteria, with two boys behind him.
I g@sped as my spoon fell from my hand immediately.
Oh my God!!
I think I’m dreaming.
