Vivian is about to walk out of a shopping mall when she bumped into Stanley dropping all of the things she was carrying. She wanted to get some things she’ll be nee-ding at home before driving to the office.
Stanley stood there thinking maybe she’ll come hu-gging him or better still break down in tears since she has missed him or she didn’t?
Vivian stood there staring at him not knowing if walking out on him will be the best thing to do but she was definitely not going to talk to him.
She wasn’t surprised to see him, after all, she learned his comeback from Madam Esther who used it to tease her.
She didn’t know what to do to him at this instant but she was definitely not going to hu-g or talk to him. She wanted to smash his head to the wall or probably shoot him till he’s dead or what if she gets him arrested this instance for all the horrible things he made her go throu-gh?
Will it really be worth it?
She took her bags from him and walk out of the mall which he followed.
“I am back to Texas Vivian. Don’t you miss me?”
She stopped on her track and bit her lower li-p in rage.
He got some nerve asking her if she misses him?
Why on earth will she miss someone who left her alone to Carter for herself? Why will she miss someone who deceived her into loving him and getting pregnant for him?
Who will miss a cheater and deceiver like Stanley McKings?
Only a fool will.
She open the boot of her car to load the things she bought without even glancing at him. She’s trying to avoid any kind of conversation with him.
“If you don’t miss me I do.”
She chuckled silently and went into her car without another word then drove off.
All she has to do now is to try all her best to avoid him cause a snake will always bite you no matter how many times they come back.
VIVIAN PUBLISHING HOUSE
She drove into the building and after getting down she hand her car keys to the security man telling him to wash her car as she walk into the company.
She went straight to the board room and meet everyone already waiting including her husband. This should be a big day for her.
VPH investors are starting to lose faith in VPH’s cause of the things that are happening especially after learning of the model she fired without a good cause. She tried letting them know that it was really worth it but they just won’t hear it.
They told her that she was only making things worst and giving other publishing houses the upper hand but she told them that she knew exactly what she was doing and when she was having this talk with Julius, he told her that the only way to convince the investors is to show them something to hold unto and that was why she held this meeting to give them something to hold onto.
A hope.
A plan.
“Good morning everyone. I’m sorry am late.” She greeted and push her hair backward.
Julius could sense that his wife isn’t in her right state of mind like something is bothering her but he can’t ask her about that now until after the meeting. She has never arrived at a meeting before so this appears like a shocker to him.
Yes he knew she was supposed to drop her at the Mall before coming but he knows his wife very well she has already planned how to run her day so coming late is not something that just happened. He’ll have to find out later.
“We’ll just go straight to the reason why we’re here today and nobody’s time nee-ds to be wasted.” She said and turn on her laptop making it to face a projector. She’s going to display something.
“I know you must all be thinking I’m being incompetent for having to fire Miss Eva Sinclair after her first project without a valid reason. I told you all already that I know what am doing and it’s for the best.”
“You keep saying it’s for the best but we’re not seeing anything best here. Give us something to believe.” One of the board members said and she replied by smiling.
“That is why we’re gathered here.”
She start to scroll down her system but couldn’t find what she was looking for. Murmuring started clouding the place as none could un-derstand what was happening or what she was doing.
“What? You’re wasting our time Mrs. McKings!” Another said.
Julius just wanted to watch and see how all this ends but he can’t stand seeing her get embarras-sed so he has to get into the picture.
“We’re going to have to postpone this meeting.” He said and she raised her head to look at him.
“Do you realize that all of us have other things to attend to? We can’t keep coming here and getting fruitless results.” Another board member said.
“I un-derstand where all of you are coming from and I know how frustrating it is not to get the answers we all seek but there are some things we nee-d to fix and until then, am sorry but she’s not disclosing any information.”
“On who’s orders?”
“Mine.” He said and they all stare at each other before standing up.
“When next you’re calling us make sure to have something tangible to deliver or else we’ll meet in court.” Another said as they all walk out on her leaving her with Julius.
“The file was on my laptop. I made sure to save it myself. I can’t seem to find it.” She said looking all restless. This is going to cost her more than she can handle.
“Just settle down and search for it properly maybe it’s somewhere.” He said and she faced him.
“Or maybe you deleted it.”
He laughed thinking maybe she was joking but he stopped laughing when he realizes her serious face.
“You’re not serious are you?”
She still kept a straight face.
“I came to your aid so you won’t get embarras-sed and that’s what I’ll get?”
“You shouldn’t have said anything! Why did you have to stand up for me if you don’t have anything to do with the missing file?”
He wanted to reply but held himself back from saying another thing.
“I’m done here.” He said and left the room.
She exhale and sat down wondering how the files that worth a billion go missing without any trace.

FLASHBACK ???
I’ve been monitoring her movement since she got back from work and I was able to learn that there’s a proposal she’s working on that’ll convince the board members why she has to fire me. I pretended as if I was eating while she was on the couch working with her laptop. The second I saw her got up, I rushed to the laptop before it’ll enter pas-sword. I saw the proposal and hiss, so this is all she has to present to the board and they won’t question her again? Isn’t that cheating in my part.
I decided to go throu-ghthe proposal before deleting it cause that’s exactly what am here for. To damage whatever plans she has.
How can a person be so heartless and all she can think about is how to bring down another person? If I had known that she’ll eventually fire me after helping them top a one project, I wouldn’t have accepted the job.
“What are you doing?”
Oh no! He caught me!
What excuse am I going to give for looking into his mother’s laptop and deleting her proposal?
“Oh hi Ryan. I thought you’re out hanging out with George.” I said trying to keep a straight face.
“I was, but I forgot my baseball. What are you doing with Mom’s laptop?”
The question I knew he’ll ask.
“Oh please don’t tell her. I was trying to send an application from her laptop to my phone but I guess wireless don’t work.” I lied and instead he gave me a weird look meaning he doesn’t believe me.
“Okay. I’m going up now.” He said pointing upstairs while I nod my head and he left.
Let’s get back to work!
PRESENT ✅☑️
I was on the dinning trying to concentrate on the movie Stephen sent me when I heard Ma’am Vivian grumbling, hissing and grumbling. I tried ignoring her and just pay attention to what I was watching but the question she asked me took me aback.
I raise my head and pretended as if I didn’t hear what she asked me.
“Did you mess with my laptop?”
I gave her a shocking stare. What did she take me for? A two year old kid who messes around with people’s things?
“Why will I do that?”
I had to ask cause she’s making me feel like a criminal. Stephen is taking too long to find an apartment for us. Five days is like eternity.
“I don’t know. Maybe to get back at me for firing you.” She said and I chuckled. That’s exactly what they think of me in this house. A golddigger.
“I don’t have anything to say to you ma’am Vivian.” I said and stood up taking my phone from the table.
“Did you temper with my laptop or not? It’s a simple question.” She yelled and I didn’t know when my eyes start getting teary.
“I didn’t okay! And stop making me feel worst than I already have!” I yelled back and rushed out of the house. Staying here is becoming unbearable for me and I don’t think I can wait another 4days.

All I should be craving for is some peace and quietness and I think this garden is the perfect place to get what I want.
“Are you okay?” Ryan asks me from behind.
Am I okay? After all the hussle I had to go throu-ghwith Ma’am Vivian, I sure can’t say I am okay.
“I should be.” I said and he nod his head before sitting down with me.
I was sure admiring the beautiful flowers surrounding the McKings’ garden but when he came I had to turn my attention to him.
“I heard what conspired between you and my mom.” He began and I already know what he’s going to say and I don’t think he should apologize on her behalf.
“You know I and your Mom. I’m just glad it’s over.” I said and there was silence between us. I don’t know what is running throu-ghhis mind but I think this is the best time to talk about the ki-ss. Maybe Fateemah is right, nothing will go wrong if I bring up the topic? Afterall we both want thesame thing.
“Did you do it?” He asked.
“Do what?” I hope he’s not doubting me too. I can’t imagine what I’ll do if Ryan is also doubting me.
“I mean, what Mom is accusing you of. You know, the both are…”
“You’re also thinking I deleted her proposal?” I nee-ded to be sure of what he’s asking me.
“For a good reason of course. You should be angry after all the things she has done to you and I un-derstand perfectly why you did it.”
Why I did it?!
He’s not asking me if I did it.
He’s telling me that I did it!
Things are getting worst than I expected.
FLASHBACK ?
“Okay. I’m going up now.” He said pointing upstairs while I nod my head and he left.
Let’s get back to work!
As I walk back to the laptop I heard a footstep approaching quickly.
Oh no! I can’t even carry out my plan.
I guess she’s really lucky this time but there won’t be luck next time Mrs. Vivian McKings.

“I didn’t do it.” Before I could even say that out for him to hear my eyes had already teared up. If everybody is doubting me I don’t think he should be among them. I trusted him and I expected him to do same.
After saying that, I walk pas-s him and he held my hand preventing me from walking away.
“That’s not what I meant Eva. A lot has been happening to Mom and the company and…”
“Me? What about me Ryan?!” I did say I want to talk about the ki-ss but I don’t plan to talk about it like this.
He let go of my hand and gave me a puzzled look.
“What are you talking about?”
It’s sad to realize that am not as important as I had thought.
This is more painful than a heartbreak.
It’s okay Eva Sinclair you’ll live.
“It’s nothing. Forget about it.” I wipe my face and walk into the house.
I shouldn’t have put my hopes up.
