Episode 38

Chloe’s pov:
I don’t know why I’m suddenly mad at Kian for not telling me the truth.
Like jeez, we aren’t even in a relationsh!p.
But somehow, I still felt hurt because he couldn’t trust me to tell me he has a twin brother.
I thought we’re friends who can tell each other secrets.
But seems I was all wrong or it was just the way I wanted things to be.
But thinking about it, they really seem not to be on good terms with each other and kaden looks like a wealthy guy.
I mentally sma-cked myself for not giving Kian a room for explanations.
At least I should have listened to him and let him explain himself. But I was just too angry not to even listen to him.
I can be so dramatic sometimes.

I got inside the p@rty and I saw dad dancing with his PA. He turned to look at me with a smile.
I win-ked at him while he smiled broadly.
I nee-d to get a drink.
I walked towards the bar stand and took out an alcoholic wine.
I poured a little quantity inside the glas-s cu-p and chung it down my throat.

Jace pov:
I mentally patted my head for a job well done.
I smiled in satisfaction as I watched Kaden leave.
Kian looked very angry and I was glad I didn’t miss the scene.
It was just exactly what I wanted.

Unknown’s pov
It was just few minutes left and the dance floor would be closed for other activities to be carried out.
After scanning the dance floor, I finally caught sight of my target, Chloe.
She was dancing alone.
Perfect!
I took low strides towards her with my hands tucked inside my trou-sers pocket.
I got to where she stood and smiled lightly at her.
“Hi.” I said and gave her one of my charming smiles.
“Huh? Hi.” She stuttered as she ran her eyes all over my b©dy.
I li-cked myl-ips s£dûçt!velyand smiled cutely at her.
“I’m Floyd.” I lied smoothly.
“I guess you alre-ady know me.” She smiled lightly.
“Yeah. The celebr@nt princess, Chloe.” I grinned.
“Yeah.”
“So Chloe, before the dance would be over, can I have this dance plea-se?” I asked sweetly like a gentleman with my right hand stretched out to her.
“Of course.” She smiled sweetly and placed her hand on mine.
I held her as we danced slowly and gracefully.
As we danced, we chatted about one thing or the other. But jeez, I was alre-ady getting impatient. I just can’t wait to kill her.
But seriously, this girl is dropped dead gorgeous.
She’s so pretty and stunning. She has a perfect shape. She has a well curvy shape and her bu-tt are round and big.
Her hands were so soft on mine, just like a new born baby’s.
I can’t believe that in less than thirty minutes, she’d be six feet below the ground.

Chloe’s pov:
As Floyd and I danced, I couldn’t st©p admiring him.
He looked so cute and dreamy.
I don’t even know between Kian and Floyd who’s even more handsome.
Wait, did I just think about that?
Like seriously, I just compared Floyd to Kian?
Jeez, what’s come over me?

As the music was about to end, suddenly the lights went out and everyb©dy g@sped loudly.
And before I could say jack, I felt a sharp pain pierced beside my abd0m£n region.
I held the place where the pain c@m£ from and I was surprised that I was alre-ady bleeding.
“Argh!” I screamed in pain and fright. And just immediately, the lights c@m£ up again.
I held the side of my bleeding abd0m£n and slumped to the floor.
The pain was excruciating and it felt like my w@!st would caught off.
I held ti-ghtly on the place that was bleeding and I started hearing distance voices.
Before I closed my eyes to oblivon, I felt strong arms carry me and finally, I blacked out.

Episode 39

Kian’s pov:
I watched as the p@rty bec@m£ rowdy after the light out.
Then, I saw Chloe sprawled on the floor and her hand clutching beside her abd0m£n.
I g@sped in shock and climbe-d down from the stairs.
Before I could get to her, one of her b©dyguards alre-ady carried her in his arms.
The p@rty was alre-ady thrown in chaos as everyb©dy scampered out of the dance floor to look for a safety place.
I looked around the place and saw a guy hastily leaving. He looked suspicious and following my instincts, I ran after him.
He turned and as soon as he saw me, he ran fas-ter. He brou-ght out something and wore it on his face.
A mask!
I chased h0tly after him but he was fas-ter.
And before I could get a hold of him, a black limousine pu-ll-ed over and the door swung opened. The guy jumped in and closed the door and the car zoomed off in high speed.
“Argh!” I gro-an ed disappointedly and kicked the air.
I was so closed to getting him.
Whoseover is the cause of this, I’ll make sure the person pays dearly for hurting Chloe.
I pray Chloe survives.
I turned and walked back into the house.
*
*
Chloe’s father ordered all the b©dyguards to do a proper check on the house to get the culprit.
I didn’t get to even see the guy’s face before he wore his mask.
The CCTV footage where checked but they couldn’t find anything.
Some p@rts were blanked and I didn’t nee-d anyone to tell me that the guys would have successfully deleted every evidence of them in the p@rty.
They really did a well cleaned job because, we couldn’t even get f!ngerprints or anything about them.
But the police are still ma-king investigations within the workers in the house to know if the person is an insider.
I pray I don’t get that person, else…

Chloe’s pov:
I fli-ckered my eyes opened and gr-unted a little because of the pounding headache.
I closed my eyes because of the room brightness. I squinted my left eye before fully opening my two eyes.
I gro-an ed as I felt a slight pain beside my abd0m£n region.
I looked up at the ceiling and it wasn’t the ceiling of my room.
The room smelled of antiseptic and gosh, I hate that smell.
An oxygen was placed on my nose and a drip was fixed on my hand.
“Princess!” I heard dad’s voice which was laced with so much worry.
I tilted my head to look at him and he was sitting on a chair beside me.
Why am I in the hospital?
What happened?
I couldn’t say anything because of the oxygen. I just took my right hand from the be-d and t©uçhed dad gently on his face.
He looked so pale like he’s being crying.
“Let me go call the doctor.” He enthused and hastily walked out of the ward.
Seconds later, a beautiful female doctor walked in with an instrument trolley and a stethoscope hung around her n£¢k.
Injection, files, hand gloves and pills were on the trolley.
“Hey.” She smiled and pushed the trolley closer to the be-d. Dad had a smile on his face as he stood behind the doctor.
The doctor wore her hand gloves and placed the ear ti-ps of the sthetoscope in her ears and placed the che-st-piece on my che-st.
After some seconds, she smiled and re-moved the sthetoscope and hung it back around her n£¢k.
She re-moved the oxygen from my nose but left the drip.
She pierced the injection carefully on my arm and pu-ll-ed it out when she was done.
“She’s fine but she’s gonna still feel pains where the operation was carried out but it’ll heal with time.” The doctor said to my dad.
“Okay doc, thank you.” Dad said.
“You welcome. I’ll leave you both to yourselves.” And with that said, she pushed the instrument trolley and left my ward.
“Princess, you scared the hell out of me.” Dad said worriedly and k!$$£d the back of my palm lightly.
“What happened dad? Why am I in the hospital?” I asked with my voice a little hoarse.
“You were stabbe-d by an anonymous on my birthday.” Dad said.
And that was when the event of that day c@m£ flashing in.
And I couldn’t even remember who actually stabbe-d me. I didn’t even know when I was suddenly stabbe-d because of the light out.
“How many days have I been here dad?” I asked.
“Five days. You almost sli-pped into coma but thank goodness, you fought your way throu-gh.
I was so worried about you princess.” Dad said affectionately.
“It’s okay dad. I’m glad I’m fine now.” I smiled as-suringly.

After some chit chat with dad, I suddenly felt dizzy and I had to let nature take over it’s course; I sle-pt off.
I woke up later in the mid evening.
As I la-id on my be-d doing nothing and feeling bored, the door of my ward opened gently and then it fully opened.
Kian?

Episode 40

Chloe’s pov:
He closed the door and walked in fully.
He took low strides towards me with his hands tucked inside his trou-ser pocket.
“Hey.” He cooed softly as he got to where I la-id on the be-d.
I rolled my eyes and turned my gaze away from him to stare at nothing in p@rticular.
Now judging from what happened to me, if his twin brother who I didn’t know about until that day didn’t show up, and ruined our dance, then I wouldn’t have thought about dancing with a stranger.
“Chloe, are you still mad at me?” He asked softly and stood beside me on the be-d.
I scoffed and ignored him.
“Chloe, I’m sorry. I didn’t tell you about Kaden my twin brother because we aren’t really on good terms.
We don’t even as-sociate much with each other and we don’t keep in t©uçh with each other.
I don’t even know how he got to know about you and how he even got invited to your dad’s birthday.
We’ve not even seen each other for about six months until on your dad’s birthday and I was damn surprised when I saw him on your dad’s birthday.
plea-se un-derstand me Chloe, I’m sorry.” He cooed softly and held my hand in his.
I tilted my head and stared into his beautiful blue eyes and smiled lightly at him.
“It’s okay Kian, I’m not mad at you.” I said with a smile.
“Thank you.” He smiled and patted my hair.
Kian kept me company. We talked about lots of things and we laughed at his lame jokes.
I enjoyed his company so much and I didn’t want him to leave. But too bad he had to leave.
He pe-cked my cheeks and promised to come visit again.
I waved lightly at him as he walked out of my ward.
I sighed softly and fell asleep.

Unknown’s pov:
“You fools! Incompetent ingrates!” My boss yelled angrily and sma-cked the desk ha-rd .
We all had our heads bowed as we stood before him, letting him pour out all his anger.
“How dare you guys! I trusted you but the only thing you could was fail me!” He rasped angrily and kicked the wooden chair.
Now, just like the other guys, I’m so damn confused as to why he’s so angry and flaring up.
What’s his probs anyways?
He hasn’t even told us what the problem is and his ma-king all of us confused.
What job did we not do well?
What’s our offense?
“Boss, you haven’t told us what our offence is.” One of the guys said, with his head still bowed.
“Oh really? You don’t know what your offenses are?” He scoffed and sma-cked his desk ha-rd with his palm.
“Boss, we are lost. We’re unaware of what we’ve done wrong for you to be so angry.” I spoke calmly with my head still bowed.
At times like this that boss is angry, we have to be careful of what we say. He can take offense with just a little word and the next thing is torture on that person.
So, we’ve always choosed our words carefully anytime he’s angry.
“Well, since you guys don’t know, I’ll tell you!” He snapped and walked to stand in front of us all; so closely.
“Chloe Seth is alive!” He broke the bombshell.
“Huh?” g@sped rang out.

Chloe’s pov:
I was discharged from the hospital six days ago and I resumed going to school three days ago.
I’m strong but the pain beside my abd0m£n region where the operation was carried out still hurts a little. But I do take pain relieve drugs.
Everyb©dy at my dep@rtment welcomed me wholeheartedly and some of them even went ahead to give me gifts.
They were happy to see me back to school and on my feet hail and hearty.
My friends, Ciara and Anna visited me at the hospital and they kept me company and told me lots of things going on in college.
I wasn’t feeling too happy because, I couldn’t witness whatever that were happening in college.
But still, I was happy that I had friends who cared for me and kept me company.
Kyle and Jace visited too and they brou-ght flowers and also wished me a quic-k recovery.
I was happy and felt so loved and special.

*
It seems like the incident drew Kian and I closer to each other. We’ve really become closer and sometimes when I end clas-ses on time, he takes me out for sight seeing and it’s always very exciting.
It’s worth every of our time together.
I don’t feel too uncomfortable with him again.
Infact, I enjoy every of his company.

*
Kian’s pov:
I smiled lightly as I watched Chloe scream happily running back and forth away from the ocean.
Well, I took her to the ocean side where’s very quiet and only few people knows there.
I come there anytime I wanted to forget my problems for a while. The view is great and the place is always cool.
And I just decided to bring Chloe here because she seemed stressed out after clas-ses.
As I watched her splash water on herself, I smiled proudly to myself.
I can’t believe that this is the same girl that was looking so stressed out about an hour ago.
Now, she looked so free spirited. And I couldn’t help but admire her long hair that the breeze blew to different directions, ma-king her look a pretty goddess.
Gosh, I really can’t wait to have her in my be-d.
*

After the fun with Chloe, I dropped her off at her house while I drove off to my penthouse.
I pu-ll-ed in the parking lots and alighted from my car.
I closed the door and walked into the house.
I climbe-d the stairs to my room to have my bath.
After I was done bathing, I la-id on my be-d typing away on my phone.
My phone rang and it was an unknown number. I ignored the call but the caller was so persistent that my phone kept ringing.
Reluctantly, I swiped the receive icon and placed the phone on my ear.
“Hello.” A masculine voice c@m£ up.
“Yeah, hello.” I replied grumpily.
“Am I speaking with Kian?” The caller asked.
I raised my eyebrows in confusion and stared at the number.
But it doesn’t look familiar.
“Yes. How may I help you?” I asked.
“Good. Well, you’re nee-ded at the hospital right now. Your brother Kaden is between life and death, and I urge you to come as fast as possible.
I’ll text you the address as soon as we end this call right now!” He rushed his words hurriedly.
“What?”
