LEGEND POV
“No mum, why would you let that even happen not in my wildest dreams will I ever think you will choose him over us” Kaiden barked and I heard him from my dream, I closely opened my eyes and found him ranting over the phone beside my be-d.
“You’re shouting. You woke me up” I said yawning as I woke up.
“No mum. Never” Kaiden said seriously and hung up his call.
“Legend you’re awake” Kaiden asked as he sat beside me still fuming.
“What’s going on? Were you talking to mum, what was the argument all about” I asked curiously and he looked away.
“I really don’t want to talk about it. It’s super annoying” Kaiden protested.
“You woke me up from my beautiful sleep and you’re trying to brush me off like that. Seriously Kaiden” I said bluntly.
“OK fine, I don’t want to ruin your morning but If you insist on hearing it fine. Last night when I got home, you won’t believe who I saw at our sitting room with mum” Kaiden said with grimace.
“This is going somewhere, I really don’t like” I g-asped in curiosity.
“Mr Adams Oliver have appeared from no where and the shocking p@rt of it, mum welcomed him into our home” Kaiden said seriously.
“Wait a minute, let me process everything you just said” I said trying to put everything he said together.
“There’s only one Adams Oliver, I know of and that’s our fv¢king father” I g-asped seriously and Kaiden nodded.
“I have no idea from which hole he fell out from and the thought of mum harbouring him in our house, is really beyond my imagination” Kaiden sm-irked.
“Bro can you plea-se talk to the doctor so I can extend my stay here at the hospital. I’m going throu-gh so much alre-ady and I really can’t add Adams issues on my list of worries” I said coldly and Kaiden stared at me in surprise.
“What do you mean Legend? Are you trying to let him swim back into mum’s life then hurt her again. Legend, you and I have never seen him before. We don’t even know him and that only explains it, he was never in our lives. The reaction you’re giving me right now isn’t what I’m expecting from you ” He protested seriously.
“What do you want me to do Kaiden? If mum alre-ady allowed him into our house. What do you think she was thinking to let him in? I can’t put up a fight I can’t win. I don’t want mum to get hurt again, I really hate the idea of Adams coming back into our lives. What did mum say to you over the phone” I asked curiously.
“She said we should come home and discuss. Mr Adams wants to have a word with us and I said never defiantly” Kaiden said angrily.
“Wait a minute, he still has the nerve to ask for our audience. What the nerve” I g-asped with a smile.
“Don’t you think your expression is Abit confused. You shouldn’t be smiling when saying that” He pouted and I scoffed.
” We’re left with no choice but to go talk some s-ense into him and throw him out of our house and lives. We’ve had a perfect life without him so his appearance doesn’t mean anything to us” I sm-irked.
“Now you’re sounding like Legend. Let’s go show him his place. The doc said you can go home but you nee-d to always take your medications” He reminded and I nodded.
“I’m good really. I suddenly have the strength and energy to destroy someb©dy’s soul” I shrugged and Kaiden laughed.
“Let’s go” He added and I c@m£ down from my be-d but I felt a little pain on my leg and flashes of last night incident c@m£ to my head.
“Kaiden when you arrived here, did you meet anyone leaving” I asked curiously.
“Emm I kinda saw someone leaving but I didn’t have a proper look at the face and I thought maybe he’s a p@$$er by” Kaiden affirmed.
FLASHBACK*** “What will you do without me” A voice echoed as I tried to have a proper look at the face but it was blurry.
“I like you Legend. I like you a lot. I guess this is the only way I will be able to express and say my feelings out, I felt really frustrated that you weren’t getting any clue on how I feel for you” A voice echoed again and suddenly the person left after treating my injury.
“You will be fine Legend” Another voice echoed as he kept wiping my forehead with a cold towel.*** FLASHBACK ENDS.
“Did I have two visitors last night or it was just Grayson” I g-asped and Kaiden stared at me.
“I don’t think Grayson sle-pt here. I saw him at home this morning” Kaiden cut in.
“Then who was that? It can’t possibly be Axel. He flied out of the country alre-ady” I muttered out as I changed my shi-t.
“Stop thinking about it, maybe it’s one of the nurses” Kaiden chipped in and I nodded.
“Kaiden give me a minute. I should go say hello to Melody before I leave, she must have woken up alre-ady” I said after putting on my shi-t.
“Is there something going on between you two? Don’t tell me Melody’s your girlfriend now? Bro that was fast” Kaiden g-asped and I laughed.
“Your thoughts really goes wild sometimes. It’s not what you’re thinking, I’m not bad boy like you. I will be right back” I chuckled and head for Melody’s room.
“Oh wooh, oh wooh oh” Melody sang and coughed trying to get the tone she wants.
It’s a good thing, you’re trying to sing again. I g-asped in my head smiling wi-dely as I eavesdrop to Melody’s singing then I knocked on the door.
“Come in” Melody fidgeted as I c@m£ in.
“Were doing something silly before I c@m£ in. You look nervous” I tea-sed and she looked away.
“Don’t you think it’s too early to start teasing me and what are you doing here? You’re supposed to be on your be-d resting” She nagged and I rolled my eyes.
“I’m heading out with my brother. We’re going back home to deal with some family issues. I will see you later in the day” I uttered with a smile.
“Is it something serious?” She asked concerned.
“Not really. Be good okay, I will head out now” I said and she held my hand softly.
“Melody, is everything okay” I asked softly and she nodded negatively.
“What’s wrong” I asked curiously and she dragged me closer to her.
“Are you sure you don’t have feelings for me” She asked p@$$ionately and my heartbeat skipped for a second as I began to cough suddenly.
“Melody what do you think” I asked and she smiled.
“Nevermind, love is a gradual process. I don’t want to be the clingy type of girl and yeah I know what you’re thinking, why’s Melody asking me a question like this out of the blue. I just felt like asking and like I expected you didn’t give me an answer. Don’t shower me with too much care and attention, I might get used to it” She said with a smile letting go of my hand.
“I will keep that in mind but it doesn’t matter, you still deserve the best of best” I said and she smiled wi-dely.
“I will go now, take care” I said and went out only to find Kaiden at the door.
“Seriously Legend, were you flir-ting with her or what? I wouldn’t blame her if she falls for you de-eply, you made her do so. You shouldn’t shower a girl you aren’t going to date praises like that. What do you want her to feel afterwards” Kaiden advised and I shrugged.
“Thank you so much Mr Kaiden but such advise shouldn’t be coming out from a pla-yboy like yourself. I’m pretty sure you’ve broken the hearts of thousands of boys and girls out there” I mocked as we got into the elevator.
“A broken heart that didn’t express his feelings isn’t a broken heart but a broken courage” Kaiden said and we boost into laughter.
Kaiden and I got home and found mum setting the dinning table.
“Mum you didn’t go to work today? You told me, you’ve got some work at the office today” I said coldly as we sat down to have breakfast.
“My boss said I should have a few days off that I’ve not recovered fully and he doesn’t want that to disrupt our work” Mum explained with a smile but Kaiden kept mute.
“Your boss is being overly generous. Mum you said Kaiden and I should come home and meet who exactly” I inquired trying to listen to what she got to say.
“Let’s have breakfast first” She cut in nervously and the door bell rang.
“I will go get it” I said and stood up quic-kly then head for the door. I opened the door and found a man in his late sixties at the door.
“Excuse me sir, are you sure you c@m£ to right place” I asked looking at him from his head to his toes.
“You must be Legend right? It’s nice to meet you. My name’s Adams Oliver” He said with a smile giving out his hand for a handshake and I found myself moving backwards in shock.
“What!” I screamed in shock staring at the old man.

LEGEND POV
“You said your name was what again? It’s like I kinda didn’t get you” I asked glaring at him and he smiled.
“Legend don’t be like that to visitors. plea-se come in” Mum uttered as she c@m£ to the door.
“Thank you Cindy” He said with a smile and went inside.
“Like what the heck is going on here” I yelled and Mum stared at me.
“Mum like seriously, he’s Mr Adams Oliver” I asked perplexed and Kaiden chuckled.
“What’s wrong with you Legend? Where are your manners” Mum scolded and I fixed my eyes on the old man.
“Cindy he takes after me, so hot blooded and handsome” Mr Adams complimented smiling as he stared at me as well.
“If I was told this was what would happen today, I will bluntly reject coming here. Kaiden I’m off” I said seriously as I picked my jacket.
“Legend where are you going? You just got back from the hospital. What’s wrong” Mum asked curiously not quite un-derstanding my expression.
“Everything’s wrong Mum. I can’t even get angry properly because of this. Hey old man, do we look like a joke to you. You can’t just badge into someone’s house and claim to be Mr Adams, I won’t buy that” I sneered about to put on my shoes when mum held my hand.
“Legend he’s your father, why are you behaving like this” Mum whispered to me.
“Mum how can you call this old man my father? He’s old enough to be my grandpa” I uttered seriously and Mum glared at me.
“He’s your father and there’s nothing you can do to change that” Mum fired and I sm-irked.
“Hey, Mr Adams how old are you” I asked rudely and he kept mute.
“Now I see the reason why you ran away. You probably might have ran back to your family but if you were going to run away, why did you bother ma-king a family with my Mum? What hole did you fall out from” I shouted and Mum slapped me.
“Shut it Legend” Mum yelled with tears rolling down her cheeks.
“Mum” Kaiden and I called out surprised.
“What did you do to my mother” I shouted as I bounced on Adams, gr-abbing his collars ti-ght.
“Mum I really don’t quite get you. Mum you slapped Legend for this old man here, mum this old man left you. He left us, why are you trying to fight for him when you know so well that we get hurt whenever we see you struggling alone to make ends meet. Old man, we really don’t want you here, you will only end up drifting our family ap@rt. No one here will accept you back in so plea-se leave and don’t bother coming back” Kaiden said seriously.
“What are you waiting for? Leave” I added furiously and Mum stayed at the door.
“He’s going nowhere so the both of you better shut it and listen to what he has to say” Mum g-asped seriously and sat down on the couch.
He’s not saying anything. He must be enjoying this, seeing Mum shout at us like that. I muttered in my mind angrily as I glared at him.
“Emm… Boys I’m so sorry for leaving such a bad impact on you guys. I didn’t mean to leave Cindy with so much responsibility, I had no intentions of doing that” He explained with his face on the ground.
“Before we proceed, answer one of my question because I really can’t stand this if you don’t answer my question” I said seriously.
“Legend” Mum called seriously.
“It’s okay Cindy. And what question is that” He asked and I sm-irked.
“How old are you” I g-asped and everyone looked at me in shock.
I guess nob©dy saw that coming. If I’m curious I have to get my answer.
“I may look a bit old because I was born with gray hairs but I’m only 57. I’m not even a cowboy yet” Mr Adams answered and my jaw dropped same as Kaiden.
“You’re only 57?” Kaiden and I asked in unison.
“Now can we go back to what he was saying” Mum reminded without even looking at us.
“I’m sorry it took me so late to apologize for leaving but I was only ashamed and embarr@$$ed for what I did. I knew Cindy would never let me back into her live, I kept waiting for the right time to come apologize to you guys” He said politely.
“Apologizing won’t change the fact that we lived all our lives without knowing you. Apologizing won’t turn back times when Mum cried and prayed for you to come back. Apologizing won’t change the fact that Legend and I never went for children and father’s trip in school. Do you still think your apology means anything to us? Your chapter in our lives ended long time ago” Kaiden said boldly and I smiled.
“No amount of apologies will amend my wrongdoings, I’m only asking you to give me a second chance to prove myself to you. If you don’t want me back with your mum fine or in your house, I will be fine with that. If you can spare few hours of your time every week with me, I will be the happiest man on Earth” Mr Adams requested.
“Do we look like we care if you’re happy or not? If Mum cares, I don’t care. If we’re done here, I will like to take my leave” I said as I stood up from the sofa I was sitting.
“Mr Adams why are you here to begin with because I’m pretty sure you didn’t just come all the way here after nineteen years to ask for our time which is close to impossible. I smell something fishy when I see one” Kaiden uttered seriously and I sat back staring at him.
“What Kaiden said, makes a lot of s-ense. I also find it suspicious and the fact that Mum allowed you into our home is also very suspicious” I g-asped processing everything in my head.
“Mr Adams’s chapter in our lives hasn’t ended yet. This is just the beginning, you will go throu-gh same pain you put me throu-gh” Mum said seriously and I stared at her.
Like seriously what’s going on here? Why the sudden change of sides. I g-asped in my head staring at Mum.
“You’re right, I have my reasons for showing up and I think it’s high time you go back to where you belong. Kaiden, Legend, the both of you are my legacies. You own 75% shares in my company” He said seriously and I stared at Kaiden whose eyes were on me alre-ady.
CINDY POV
FLASHBACK*** I heard the doorbell ring then I got the door and shockingly I saw Adams at the door.
“What the hell are you doing here? And how did you find this place” I asked furiously as tears gathered in my eyes.
“Cindy I’m sorry” He apologized and I tried to close the door but he swiftly used his leg to stop me from doing it.
“What do you want from me” I yelled and the tears couldn’t help it but roll down my cheeks.
“Cindy I nee-d your help. We nee-d to secure the future of our son’s, they deserve a better life” He cut in sharply.
“Adams did you lose your scre-w somewhere or you escaped from a mental hospital. What sons are you talking about? If you’re here to talk about my kid’s future then I’m sorry you c@m£ to the wrong house so take off your leg and get out of my house” I fired and he held my hand.
“It may sound like I’m ma-king excuses but there wasn’t any day I didn’t see you and my sons, I watched you all from afar. I even went to Legend’s school camping, I visit Kaiden in school always without his notice. I’ve been doing this since they were in elementary school. Cindy I’m rich now and you three deserve a good life, the sons of Adams Oliver should live a very comfortable life” Adams said smiling and I je-rked my hands off and slapped him on his left cheeks.
“Running back into our lives won’t change the fact that you’re an @$$hole and coward. We were doing fine without you and we will continue doing so, you think you can get us involved in your mistress’s greediness. You claim to be watching us everyday yet you got yourself a mistress, I will never believe a liar like you so get out of my house now” I said coldly.
“Cindy, I will do whatever you want just let me talk to my sons” He pleaded and I sm-irked.
“Anything I want” I repeated and he nodded.
“Anything” He @$$ured.
“I want 75% of everything you own for my sons and that’s not all” I sm-irked looking away as I wiped off my tears.*** FLASHBACK ENDS.
