LEGEND POV
Melody fell asleep as I told her my silly stories and jokes.
“It’s a good thing, you’re slee-ping so sound like a baby. After hearing what happened to you I felt my heartbeat skipping multi-ple of times. Surprisingly I’ve become so attached to you, I don’t get attached to people easily” I whispered with a smile and stood up from where I was sitting.
My eyes landed on the wall clock and I stared at it again.
“Oh shit, Axel said we should meet up. This is midnight alre-ady” I g-asped in shock and quic-kly ran out of Melody’s room and head out of the hospital. Luckily the hospital don’t give restrictions leaving by midnight.
I got to George’s restaurant and they were closing for the day.
“Excuse me, did you happen to see a very good looking young man, same height and complexion as me. He looks very cl@$$y in person” I describe-d and the waitress nodded with a wi-de smile on herl-ips, obviously telling me that she admired my description.
“Yes he left a while ago. He’s been sitting here for almost five hours if I can recall. It looked like he was waiting for someone but the person didn’t show up so he left but why are you asking” She asked looking at me.
“You possibly can’t be the one he was waiting for. plea-se can I have his contact at least so I can tell him you dropped by” The waitress requested with a smile trying to flir-t with me but I walked away.
“Anyways thank you for the info” I shouted and ran down the street, getting to my house but Axel wasn’t there.
I placed a call across to Axel but his number wasn’t connecting. I tried s-ending him a text but it wasn’t going throu-gh.
“My day today was totally jinxed. I can’t believe I stood Axel up at the restaurant trying to mend things up with Melody” I g-asped out frustratedly looking around and Grayson c@m£ out of my house.
“Grayson what are you….” I couldn’t complete my s-entence when he cut in.
“Axel dropped by, he said I should give you this” Grayson cut in giving me a little envelope.
“Axel dropped by, I thought he didn’t know where I lived” I muttered out smiling and opened the envelope then brou-ght out the little note in the envelope.
••• Good bye Legend, till we meet again •••
Axel wrote on the note and I stared at Grayson.
“What’s on the note? Your face expression is giving me a ha-rd time figuring out what’s on the note” Grayson chipped in looking at me.
“When Axel dropped this, did he say anything to you” I asked curiously.
“Well he told me bye when he was leaving except his bye meant something else” He said trying to have a look at the note on my hand.
“I think Axel’s left Los Angeles” I muttered in a low tone.
“Really? But if that’s the case why do you look so down” Grayson shrugged.
“I was supposed to meet up with him before he leaves. I had no idea he was leaving” I lamented obviously disappointed at myself.
“He even tried to reach out to you but looks like you were pretty occu-pied with what you were doing. What were you busy with” Grayson questioned.
“Melody tripped down the stairs and broke one of her arms so I was with her at the hospital and I totally lost track of time” I explained.
“So what do you plan on doing now” He asked and I ruffled my hair in frustration.
“Grayson do you have any idea, where Axel’s living” I asked curiously.
“Well I do but it’s pretty late alre-ady and your mum wouldn’t like the idea of you walking around late at night so let’s just wait till it’s morning” Grayson suggested.
“Do you think he will be at the airport right now? How about I go to the airport to look around, I might see him” I said seriously and Grayson scoffed.
“Go to the airport and do what exactly? You’re sounding like it’s only one airport we have here in Los Angeles. Stop coming up with silly ideas. Let’s just wait till it’s morning then we visit his mansion and try to see if we can find out anything about where he traveled to. Go in and have some rest, you obviously had an hectic day” Grayson cut in coldly as he watched me get into the house then he locked the door from outside.
~~ “Legend what do you want for your birthday, I promise to get you everything you want for your birthday” Axel asked in his tiny voice as we ran around in elementary school.
“Legend, Legend I got you the latest bicycle model you requested for as a birthday gift and I also got something else for you” Axel announced with a silly smile as he drove the new bicycle into our cl@$$.
“Oh no Legend you’re burning up. I think you have a fever. We nee-d to take you to the school clinic. Hop on my back” Axel offered carrying me on his back sweating all over before we got to the clinic. ~~
“It’s really an h@$$le having a rich friend as your buddy” I uttered out smiling as I sat on my be-d reminiscing on our childhood moments together.
The thought of me reminiscing on our childhood have never crossed my mind. I can’t believe I’m doing that right now. Axel I’m hoping you haven’t left Los Angeles yet, we just united after so many years and you’re leaving alre-ady. If you were going to leave like this why did you show up in the first place. I g-asped in my head sadly.
Next morning Grayson and I went to Axel’s mansion before heading for school.
“Excuse me sir, can we ask you a question” I asked curiously and the security guard stared at us like we’re some kind of criminals.
“You look like students but don’t think you can deceive me because you’re putting on school uniforms. Leave this place before I call the security team for you” He threatened.
“Sir we’re only here to make an inquiry about our friend Axel, your young boss” Grayson cut in boldly.
“If the young boss is really your friend then why are you coming here to inquire about that. You can just put a call across to him and that will save you the stress and embarr@$$ment” the security guard said bluntly.
“How can an old man be so rude and sarcastic in his manner of speech” Grayson sneered and I covered his mouth so the guard doesn’t hear him.
“Sir plea-se can you tell us where to find your young boss, we’re really friends with him” I said politely showing him a video of Axel and us.
“Now you’ve brou-ght proof, I will tell you where to find him” He concurred and I smiled.
“The young boss left the country last night and I have no idea which country he flied to so you can ask him that yourself. Bye” The security guard said and left the gate.
“I had the god feeling Axel was leaving the country last night” I uttered in a low tone.
“But he said till you meet again so he’s definitely coming back” Grayson cut in.
We got to school and all throu-gh the lessons, my eyes was on Axel’s empty desk.
If he was here right now, he would have given me an hint on what to say or answer to the questions been thrown at me by the teachers. He was such a great and awesome buddy, I’m only realizing that now.
“Legend you’ve got to stop slee-ping in cl@$$, you’re ma-king us look like the bookworms here and I really hate it when people think so highly of me” Axel pouted and I smiled as I remembered that.
“You’re the first person I’m seeing who hates been acknowledged by others” I g-asped with a smile and I noticed the whole cl@$$ were staring at me.
“What” I yelled and everyone stopped staring.
“It’s okay, we also miss our handsome Axel. I can’t help it but miss him even more the more I talk about him. He wasn’t that much of a friendly dude but he was a super savage guy which made him unique” Angela said mesmerized staring at Axel’s desk.
AUTHOR’S POV
Next day Legend wasn’t feeling too good but he insisted on visiting Melody.
“Legend are you sure you’re fine” Melody asked curiously noticing how pale Legend looks.
“I’m fine. How are you feeling today” Legend asked softly after wiping Melody’s face with a we-t towel.
“I’m getting a little better. Legend you don’t look so well, you look so pale” Melody g-asped as she tried to feel Legend’s temperature but he moved away.
“I’m fine, you don’t nee-d to worry” Legend said defiantly.
“I will go ask the doctor about your recovery process, I will be right back” Legend said slowly and left the room. He walked two steps away from Melody’s room door and collap-sed.
“Ahh!” Some nurses shouted as Legend fainted In front of them and Melody looked at her door in shock.

Legend woke up and found himself on an hospital be-d while the doctor was standing next to him.
“Doc what am I doing here” Legend asked curiously.
“Oh you’re awake. What were you thinking? Your fever was so high, did you had plans on committing suicide” The doctor scolded and Legend crossed his hand across his che-st and relaxed.
“You’ve been injected with some drugs and you will be better in no time but you’re not leaving the hospital yet. Some drugs have been prescribe-d to your mother and she went to get it” The doctor informed and Legend nodded.
“I really don’t get young kids this days. Running around with an high fever” The doctor mumbled looking at Legend then he left.
“Legend” Melody called out as she ran towards Legend’s be-d in her patient outfit.
“Melody what are you doing here? You should head back to your room. I know you’re here to scold me but Melody you will only hurt your voice okay and I’m fine now. Nothing to worry about so now head back to room” Legend instructed and Melody pouted.
“Oh Legend you’re awake and look who we have here” Cindy said excitedly as she joined them.
“Good day ma’am” Melody greeted with a wi-de smile.
“Yes Mum. Mum you shouldn’t have come. I’m fine okay, I really don’t like the idea of stressing you out mum” Legend complained and Cindy gr@bb£d his ear ti-ght.
“Ahh! Mum I didn’t mean to provoke you” Legend winced as he tried to get free from Cindy’s grip.
“He deserves that” Melody laughed and Legend gr@bb£d her hand ma-king her fall on him in his be-d.
“Legend you silly boy. What are you doing? Can’t you see Melody’s other arm is hurt” Cindy scolded helping Melody up the be-d but her cheeks flu-shed just thinking about what just happened.
“Aunt I’m sure Legend didn’t mean to” Melody covered up and Cindy glared at Legend.
“Mum I’m also a patient here. I lost consciousness few hours ago. Don’t you think I nee-d special treatment as well” Legend said bluntly.
“Silly boy. Even Melody is covering up for you. Melody I should help you to your room, you shouldn’t be out here like this. What if someone hits your arm unintentionally. We really can’t make you go throu-gh such experience. Let’s go” Cindy g-asped as she held Melody’s other arm not giving her an opportunity to decline her offer.
“Legend I will call you” Melody mumbled giving him a signal with her thumb and Legend nodded.
“Mum, Melody can walk on her own. Stop spoiling her” Legend uttered in jealousy.
“Keep quiet” Cindy snapped and left with Melody.
They got to Melody’s room and her mum was in the room alre-ady.
“What kind of a nanny are you? How you let her go out like that. Can’t you see her arm haven’t recovered yet” Tonia yelled at Cindy.
“Who’s she talking to” Cindy uttered sarcastically as she helped Melody to her be-d.
“I’m talking to you. Do you wish to lose your job” Tonia threatened and Cindy laughed.
“Stop it Mum. Why appear here all of a sudden and act like you care” Melody said rudely and Cindy noticed the cold shoulders.
“Wow you must be that super mum who doesn’t care about her child” Cindy sneered glaring at Tonia.
“What did you just say” Tonia uttered getting pissed.
“You heard me right. I’m not offended you called me Melody’s nanny but the fact you have no idea that Melody and I are actually friends. What does that make you. Melody I will come visit you later, take care okay” Cindy said with a smile as she ca-ressed Melody’s hair gently then left the room and Tonia couldn’t get her eyes off her.
“Who’s she Melody? How can you make friends with someone like that? She’s beneath our cl@$$. You can’t continue being friends with her, you will stay away from her. Do you un-derstand” Tonia yelled and Melody scoffed.
“When did you start putting interest in the kind of people I make as friends? After three days of my hospitalization, you’re only visiting today. What if I was in a more critical condition? What kind parents are you” Melody g-asped coldly and Tonia went closer to her.
“Come on Melody, don’t be like this. You know so well that your dad and I have been pretty busy because of the contracts we’re taking care of. Who do you think paid your hospital bills if we weren’t aware that you’re here. We know you’re in a safe hand and doctor White is your father’s friend” Tonia said with a smile.
“Mrs Cindy is way more caring and loving than you mum. Mrs Cindy also works in an hu-ge company and she’s a chief director but she always have the time to spend with her family. Do you know that Mrs Cindy is a single mum who shoulders the responsibility of her two sons. You can tell how ha-rdworking she is but mum you only have me and dad is working as well, why are you working so ha-rd. Why would you sacrifice your child for your job” Melody g-asped sobbing and she wiped off her tears.
“Melody why would you compare your mum to a stranger? You know we’re doing all this for you. Why are you being so ungrateful” Tonia uttered seriously.
“You know what Mum, I’m so tired. Tired of you, dad and your whole job of a thing. When I get discharged from the hospital, I will go to my grandma’s house for the Christmas holidays so don’t expect me to spend this Christmas waiting for you and dad to get back from work. Everyone’s supposed to go for holidays on Christmas day but my parent’s case is different, they go to work even on Christmas day” Melody said sarcastically and l@ydown.
“Melody” Tonia uttered shocked to hear Melody pour out her heart.
“I’m tired, I nee-d to rest. plea-se can you close the door behind you” Melody requested covering herself with a blanket, giving Tonia her back.

“I can’t believe her seriously” Cindy muttered out seriously as she went back to Legend.
“Mum relax okay. What happened? You look really pissed right now” Legend uttered keeping the junkies he was eating aside.
“I think I nee-d some of that” Cindy g-asped gr-abbing one of the junkies on Legend’s be-d.
“Mum what happened? You had a fight with Melody? But Melody is a good kid why would you quarrel with her” Legend said looking at his mum as she gulp down the chips she was eating.
“It’s Melody’s mum. How can ones mum be like that? I couldn’t help it but get pissed when I saw her not after seeing Melody cry so many times secretly if I show her attention” Cindy uttered seriously chewing the chips in anger.
“Mum you will hurt your gums. Chew gently. I also think Melody’s parents are something else and that’s why I vowed to myself, if my father ever shows up I will grind him into a smoothie and chase him out of the city with my anger” Legend said seriously punching his palm with his hand.
“Why are you bringing him up? Anyways Legend, I had something in mind that’s why I took Melody back to her room” Cindy said keeping the junkie aside.
“Something like? Mum whenever you sound like this you’re planning on ma-king an important decision in my life which I wouldn’t be of support of” Legend protested looking away and Cindy held his hand.
“Legend what do you think of Melody” Cindy asked curiously and Legend laughed.
“Why am I not surprised about your question? Melody is pretty” Legend said with a shrug.
“She’s pretty. That’s it” Cindy inquired and Legend nodded.
“Mum what were you expecting me to say” Legend asked staring at his Mum.
“How can you be so unreasonable. Can’t you see Melody is totally into you. Whenever she’s with you, she blus-hes ha-rd and that’s why I took her to her room. If you’re going to continue being like this then I think it’s only advisable that you stay away from her, you will only end up hurting her ” Cindy advised looking away.
“Mum don’t you think she will hurt even more if I stay away from her. She un-derstands how I feel and she’s not rushing me into having a thing for her. And I’m not re-ady to be with anyone” Legend said defiantly and Cindy hit him.
“You’re so mean. Legend you have to take care of yourself for the whole night, I will heading back home. I have work tomorrow at the office. Don’t worry I’m not heartless so I will s-end Kaiden over, that’s if he comes back home early” Cindy scoffed and stood up.
“Don’t worry Mum I will be fine alone. Thank you so much Mrs Oliver” Legend pla-yed around as he pe-cked Cindy at the back of her palm.
Cindy left the hospital and it’s midnight alre-ady. Legend’s fever acted up, all the nurses have retired for the day and the other patients are asleep.
“Water” Legend g-asped faintly as he tried to pour himself a gl@$$ of water with his shaky hands but the gl@$$ cu-p fell to the ground with the jug of water and he mistakenly stepped on one of the broken gl@$$.
“Ouch!” Legend winced and fell on his be-d, shivering.
“What will you do without me” Grayson uttered from no where as he picked the scattered gl@$$es and Axel watched him from a corner.
