MELODY POV
After the camping everyone went to their various houses. I went back home and found Dad and mum at home, dad was watching the TV and mum was busy with her laptop.
“Melody happy birthday, honey what do you want for your birthday” Mum asked and I ti-ght£ñed my fist looking away.
“Come on baby, tell us what do you want for your birthday” Dad said with a smile and his phone started ringing.
“Excuse me, I have to take this” Dad cut in and went to the balcony.
“Melody what…” Mum g-asped but got interrupted by a call.
“Honey can you give me five minutes to take this call. It’s a very important call” Mum said and took the call.
“Hello Angela, yeah I think we should ti-ght£ñ the security of the new site before the CEO goes for inspection. Oh yeah here’s my idea” Mum said over the phone and carried her laptop and went to the other sitting room.
Dad talked over the phone. The call didn’t seem like it will be ending soon.
It’s weekend but they’re working on weekends. I muttered in my head frustratedly as I stared at both of them from where I was standing.
“They’re really so mean” I uttered as tears roll down my cheeks.
I ran out of the house and put a call across to Legend but he wasn’t picking up so I ran to a pack far away from home.
FLASHBACK*** “Michael I’m tired of this kind of life. I feel like we’re never going to make it. Today’s Melody’s birthday and we can’t even afford to buy a cake for her. My girl is Seven years old today, she deserves to eat a cake today” Mum sobbe-d in dad’s embr@ce.
“Tonia I will get a promotion soon in my workplace when that happens we can afford an expensive cake for Melody. We ought to celebr@te Melody’s birthday, she won her seventeenth singing award today” Dad said with a smile. I stared at the both of them from a corner.
Mum got a call and jumped in excitement.
“They’ve given me the job” Mum screamed excitedly and Dad carried her in his arms in excitement.*** FLASHBACK END.
“I thought that was supposed to be a good news but it ended up drifting us ap@rt. I lost my parents over their jobs with an excuse to give me a comfortable life” I said in a low tone giggling as tears roll down my cheeks.
“I haven’t opened Legend’s gift yet” I recalled and swiftly opened my school bag.
Oh my goodness I’m so anxious. I g-asped in my head looking at the sky.
“It’s okay, it’s just a pres-ent no nee-d to be nervous” I uttered and opened the little box. I felt a sparkle in my heart as I took out the n£¢klace in the box.
“Singing voice” I re-ad out the s-entence on the pendant.
“Melody” Legend called from behind and I turned around swiftly.
“Legend what are you doing here? Don’t tell me you’re stalking me” I asked curiously and he chuckled.
“First you girls said per-vert and now you’re calling me a stalker. Really? But I should be the one ma-king that statement because I live here” Legend corrected as he joined me on the bench I was seating.
“You live here? But I’ve been to your house and this doesn’t look like anywhere close to your street” I said looking around.
“Come on what’s your br@in crowded with. Anyways this is a shorter root to my building” He explained and I smiled.
“You just opened my gift to you now. Were you that anxious” He tea-sed and I grinned.
“Maybe I was…. Legend it’s beautiful, thank you so much” I said admiring the n£¢klace on my palm.
“Let me help you with that” Legend offered as he wore me the n£¢klace.
“You’re beautiful” Legend g-asped and my heart fluttered as I stared at him.
“I meant the n£¢klace” Legend stuttered looking away and I grinned silently.
“Melody be honest with me, you were a singer when you were little right” He asked curiously.
“I was a very good singer. I started singing since I was two years old. My mum said when I was a baby listening to musics was my greatest happiness. I won so many singing competitions, I got awards.. I had my parents attention and care” I said in a low tone with a smile on.
“Don’t give up on your parents yet and your singing too. These are the things you treasure most, don’t let it go” Legend comforted and I looked away.
“When I clocked Ten years, I was to go audition in an music industry but no one was around to take me there. I lost my biggest opportunity to become a star and why was that, it was because my parents put their jobs first before me. I stopped singing after that day. There’s a point in life where we’ve got to let somethings go” I uttered swallowing ha-rd the pain I was feeling inside.
“You will give yourself another chance to be happy again, I believe so and I’m always here to support you in whatever decisions you make. Melody my mum said I should bring you over when we’re back from the camping” Legend uttered with a smile as he stood up.
“Emm…. I don’t think I’m re-ady to see her, I’m not myself tonight. I haven’t even freshened up or even changed my clothes yet” I stuttered looking at my dress and Legend held my arm gently.
“Stop acting like you’re planning on visiting your mother-in-law. Relax okay, she’s my mum and your friend’s mum so there’s really nothing to be nervous about and this is the first time you’re meeting her in person. I remember someone dancing for her” Legend tea-sed and I covered my face with my palms.
LEGEND POV
Melody and I got home and the delicious aroma from the kitchen swept our nose.
“Oh no Mum, you always make me proud. The beautiful cooking skills is from none other than my best buddy Grayson” I announced excitedly as I jumped on the couch.
“Mum really does know how to bu-tter someone up. I can’t blame Grayson for falling for it” Kaiden scoffed as he chewed the piece of popcorns in his mouth.
“What do you mean Kaiden? Grayson’s my apprentice so what’s wrong with inviting him to practice what I’ve been teaching him” Mum pouted and I noticed Melody wasn’t talking do I turned around and she didn’t come inside.
“Ha… I can’t believe this” I giggled and dialed her number on my phone.
“Aren’t you coming in or should I tell mum you’re hiding outside” I whispered over the phone and our door cracked open.
“Legend you didn’t close the door after you c@m£ in” Mum asked and I frowned.
“Your guest was taking too long to pack her car outside” I tea-sed as Melody c@m£ in and Mum stood up.
“Melody plea-se come in, it must be freezing outside” Mum said softly as she helped her in.
“Good evening ma’am. How’re feeling today” Melody asked with a smile as they sat down.
“Borinnnng” I announced and went to the kitchen to chat with Grayson who was putting his all in his cooking.
” Chef Gray” I tea-sed ru-bbing his cheeks and he chuckled.
“I know where you’re going Legend so don’t try to pl@ysilly with me” He warned with a smile but I trickled him and he mistakenly pushed the knife on the table and it gave him a cut on his leg as the knife fell to the floor.
“Oh shit… Grayson come with me” I panicked as I took him to the sitting, his leg began to bleed alre-ady.
“Mum plea-se continue with the cooking. Grayson got hurt” I g-asped and helped Grayson to my be-droom.
“Legend he only got caught because you went into the kitchen, are you planning on ruining our dinner” Kaiden shouted and I closed my door, took out the first aid kit un-der my be-d.
I began to treat Grayson’s injury, I blew air on it so it doesn’t sting much and I noticed Grayson mesmerized as he stared at me.
“Grayson” I snapped and he looked away.
“Legend do you have feelings for anyone” He asked out of the blue and I laughed.
“Suddenly… Anyways I don’t have feelings for anyone. I’m not in for ro-mantic feelings” I shrugged and he moved his leg away.
“Then it is advisable you stop ma-king me feel special” He said with a frown and went out of my room.
“This isn’t funny anylonger. Is it possible Grayson have feelings for me” I uttered with my eyes fixed on the door.
“Grayson you should better stop feeling so” I shouted as I went after him and everyone stared at me.
“Stop feeling what” Grayson asked coldly.
“You know exactly what I’m talking about” I said looking straight into his eyes.

GRAYSON POV
Legend took me outside the house so we can talk properly.
“Grayson what’s with your side talks lately? If something is bothering you. You know perfectly well that I’m always here to listen to you. You can’t keep behaving this way, it’s really bothering me” Legend protested.
“What’s bothering you exactly? We should be straight here. Are you feeling bothered because you think I have feelings for you or you’re bothered because you have feelings for someone else? Which of these two are bothering you?” I said coldly.
“What the hell are you talking about Grayson? I’m bothered because your behavior is beginning to affect our friendship. We used to be so close and free with each other but what’s gone wrong? Your insecurities are really ma-king me feel uncomfortable and I feel like you being obsessive. Getting along with Axel and Melody won’t change the fact that you’re my best friend so what’s with all your attitude” Legend fired and I glared at him.
“Insecurities don’t happen without a reason and I’m not being obsessed of you” I corrected looking away.
“Then what’s the problem exactly. You told me the other day I should stop ma-king people misun-derstand me and few minutes ago you said I should stop ma-king you feel special. I don’t know if what I’m thinking is right but there’s no way I can pick my hands on the right word if you don’t tell me” He said tiredly.
“What do you want to hear? Because I believe strongly that you know exactly what’s going on” I said bluntly.
“Grayson you can’t keep doing this, I know I’m smart when dealing with things but this isn’t easy. What have I done for you to behave this way. If you think losing you is the next option on mind then you’re wrong. Losing you is the last thing on my mind, I don’t want to drift ap@rt from you because of unknown issues so let’s talk things out ” Legend said politely and I stared at him.
“I will fix this but for now I will like to be alone. Here’s your apron” I said slowly as I re-moved the apron and gave it to him.
“Won’t you have dinner with us” He asked and I walked away.
Numbing all these feeling is really ha-rd. Sometimes I feel like pouring out all my heart and feel free but no I can’t do it. What am I scared of exactly? Why is it so ha-rd? I g-asped in my head as I walked back home.
“Grayson you didn’t tell me about your camping trip” Dad said jovially as he turned down the volume of the TV.
“Dad we can talk about that some other time. I’m tired, I nee-d to rest” I said on a low tone and went into my room.
“Grayson you didn’t have dinner with the Olivers” Dad asked but I closed my door and sat on my be-d.
“Everything’s wrong” I sighed and lie down.
AXEL POV
I was at the courtyard when Dad’s call c@m£ in.
“Hello Dad” I uttered over the phone.
“Axel what the fv¢k have you been doing in Los Angeles? You’ve been going around ma-king friends and having fun. You’ve forgotten the reason why I s-ent you there” Dad muttered with his bold voice that echoed in his background. He’s obviously at his gym house.
“Dad I only went for school camping what’s the big deal” I mumbled and I heard him drop one of the exercise tools on the floor.
“You said you will only go to Los Angeles if I put in Rock Prim highschool, a school that doesn’t even meet up to our cl@$$. You should be attending the school where the kids of multimillionaires attend and that’s a school that meet up to my standard. You rather chose the school of low lives, a school where their parents can’t even avoiding a pair of my handkerchief” Dad said seriously.
“Dad they’re humans and they’re wealthy too. Only that they don’t swim in billions like you do” I said in a low tone.
“I really don’t care so you better listen me, little br@t. Axel, Mr Santiago is still roaming around with the stolen money. You’re to mess with him and get the money back. My men won’t do a thing without your orders because I gave you that authority so you better go with them and finish him off. If you’re done, you will have to come back to New York City for your next mission. I think you’ve enjoyed your stay in Los Angeles enough” Dad instructed strictly.
“But Dad we agreed on me staying here for three months. You can’t keep changing your mind” I said getting pissed.
“You made me change my mind. You’re losing focus and that’s not good for you so you must do as I say or I will for-ce you to do so. Do you un-derstand” He g-asped seriously and I gro-an ed silently.
“Yes Dad” I gulped ha-rd and he hung up immediately.
“So many will kill to be in my shoes but honestly speaking these shoes hurt and nob©dy is gonna un-derstand where exactly, except myself” I said in a low tone looking at my beautiful courtyard.
I don’t have much time left, Legend should better give me an answer. I’m running out of time. I g-asped in my head and dialed one of my men’s number.
“Hello young boss” He said over the phone.
“Get everyone re-ady, we’re invading Mr Santiago’s place tonight” I said in a professional tone.
“Yes young boss” He said.
“You know exactly where to find me” I uttered and hung up.
Later in the midnight.
My dad’s men and I got into Mr Santiago’s secret mansion where he runs to for hiding.
“Oh my goodness” Mr Santiago panicked as he switched on the lights in his be-droom and saw me on his sofa with my mask on.
“Don’t panick, Mr Santiago” I said sarcastically and he moved backwards trying to run out of the room but one of my men closed the door alre-ady.
“What do you want from me” He asked in a shaky voice, sweating all over.
“Guilty conscience fears no accusations” I pla-yed around.
“I have no idea what you’re talking about” He panicked and I scoffed.
“Do you think you can run away with an Alexander money? Not even in your wildest dreams. They will go after you even in your grave. I really don’t appreciate the idea of wasting your time and my time at the same time so let’s straight down to business” I said professionally as I stood up from the sofa.
“I only borrowed the money from Mr Alex and I promised him, I will pay back when I’ve gotten paid” He said in a shaky tone.
“Oh really” I sm-irked and walked closer to him. I was way more taller than him. I frightened him with my height and tone.
“Look at me straight in the freaking eyes and tell me if I look like a fool” I said seriously looking at him and he slowly raised his face up.
“I’m….” He trembled.
“I will pay you back now” He panicked and made to go get his phone but he gave me a cut on my arm and swiftly one of my men shot his left leg.
“How dare you? The thing I hate the most is seeing my blood. You really got me pissed” I shouted and gave him an heavy punch on his cheeks.

Next morning in school.
“Axel what happened to your arm? With a plaster on it I feel it must be a pretty de-ep cut” Legend asked concerned as we c@m£ out of the cl@$$room.
“I’m fine, I only got a cut because of my carelessness nothing to worry about am fine but I don’t think you’re fine. What’s with Grayson’s attitude towards you? It didn’t feel right” I inquired and Legend looked away.
“He’s probably fine. He said he nee-ded some space to think things throu-gh and I have absolutely no idea what he meant” Legend protested.
“Sounds more like a lovers quarrel” I tea-sed, actually not feeling good about what I just said.
“Oh no, you can’t crown it like that. If anyone hears that, they will take it the wrong way. Gray will be fine” He g-asped with a half smile.
“Legend have you re-ad my message yet or you’re pretending not to have re-ad it” I said bluntly and he started coughing.
“You’re asking the same thing” He uttered looking away.
“Legend I have feelings for you. Those feelings have always been there” I g-asped softly.
“Axel I’m actually surprised. I didn’t know you will have the courage to tell me this in person. Amazing” Legend smiled.
“I’m Axel Alexander and I don’t run away from what I like. Have you ever seen me run away so what do you say Legend? Will you give me a chance to prove to you how much I feel for you” I said p@$$ionately and Legend held my hand.
“I’m a coward and I’m not denying it but Axel can we leave the feelings p@rt for the future” Legend uttered slowly and I stared at him.
“You’re giving me an option to pick friendship or love” I g-asped with a half smile on myl-ips.
EPISODE 19….
LEGEND POV
“Axel I pretended not to have re-ad your text because I didn’t want to lose our friendship for this and I think giving you an option to choose friendship over love is the best solution to this” I g-asped calmly.
“What are you so afraid of? Why are you stopping yourself from being happy. I trust myself on that and ma-king you happy is something I will willingly without asking for anything in return. Legend I’m not asking you to reciprocate the feelings, I’m only asking you to give me a chance to prove to you I’m worth your care and attention” Axel said softly.
“I’m sorry Axel. Like I said, let’s leave the feelings p@rt for the future. I really can’t lose you as well. Grayson is keeping a distance with me and I don’t want you to do so as well. I wish I can turn things around and be that one you all want me to be” I emphasized tiredly.
“Legend go ahead and tell me, you don’t want me. You have to tell me hurtful words for me to be able to move on. You’re really not helping matters. You’re not accepting me neither are you rejecting me, you’re putting yourself in the middle of all this. Are you telling me not to give up or indirectly telling me to give up” Axel said bluntly and I looked away.
Why am I feeling this way? I knew a day like this will come but it’s really ha-rd coming up with a decision. I g-asped in my head staring at Axel whose face expression was unexplainable.
“Axel I have a complicated emotional issue and until I fix that I can’t get myself involved in a relationship where I will keep on hurting people okay. I’m not telling you to keep on waiting for me , you’re very smart so I know you will make the right decision” I explained and Axel chuckled.
“I’m a fool for love. Hope I make the right decision” He said with a smile and walked backwards.
I feel even more terrible seeing him smile like that. I muttered in my mind pitifully.
“What are you waiting for? Let’s get going” Axel cut in and I smiled and ran to him.
“You’re very smart. You make me so proud and again you didn’t tell me what you were doing that you got hurt. I vividly remember you hate getting injuries” I tea-sed and he scoffed.
“I don’t hate it but I’m allergic to it. Having injuries leads to so many unseen viruses and bacteria I can’t explain” He said with grimace.
FLASHBACK*** When Axel and I was elementary school.
“Douchebag, how dare you push me over” Axel yelled as some group of students pushed him to the ground.
“Why did you push him like that” I shouted and they surrounded us.
“Are you trying to out number the five of us” One of the student threatened glaring at me and I noticed Axel’s palm was bleeding alre-ady.
“Axel your Palm’s bleeding” I g-asped and at the sight of that.
“Ahhhhhhh!” Axel screamed and fainted.***FLASHBACK ENDS.
“Your mansion must be super clean and tidy and that’s why you don’t like visiting others. Trying to make us look dirty” I shrugged and he placed his hand on my shoulders.
“Come on don’t be like that, you know it’s really not the way you see it. I’m not a neat freak okay” He corrected and I laughed.
“I was only teasing you” I giggled and we walked to the music cl@$$.
“It will be lovely seeing Melody on that stage singing” I g-asped as we sat down in the empty cl@$$.
“I have an idea” Axel cut in and I smiled.
“I always love your ideas” I said grinning.
“No one’s here so this is a great time to invite Melody to come sing for us and like you said before, she seem to be a good singer. Call her over ” Axel suggested and I smiled at the suggestion and swiftly called Melody.
“Legend” Melody panicked as she ran into the music cl@$$ and I chuckled.
“What’s wrong with you Legend? You said you had a migraine and I can’t believe I fell for your lies” Melody pouted.
” Melody, we really can’t help it so don’t blame Legend. We want to hear you sing, we’re friends ain’t we” Axel chipped in and she rolled her eyes and she suddenly stared at the mic on the stage.
“Melody I want to hear you sing. I think that’s the only medication I nee-d right now” I said softly and tears roll down her cheeks uncontrollably.
“Melody is everything okay, why are you crying” I asked as I walked to her and tried to wipe off her tears but she ran out of the music cl@$$room.
“Melody” I called out as I tried to run after her but Axel held my hand.
“Trust if you go after her, you’re gonna go back from your words. I really can’t watch that happen, I’m trying to keep it all in” Axel uttered coldly and gave him a confused expression.
“I don’t get what you’re saying” I asked confused and let go of my hand.
“Go after her” He g-asped and walked out of the music cl@$$room.
“What’s going on here” I muttered out trying to process everything.
I don’t think I’m in the position to go after either of you. You’re both probably hurting because of me. I for-ced Melody out to face one of her traumas and I hate myself for doing that. It’s something we shouldn’t for-ce.
I stayed at the music cl@$$room for two hours thinking about nothing in p@rticular.
“Time to go back to cl@$$” I muttered out and left the music cl@$$room and some students walked p@$$ me.
“I feel so sorry for Melody, she looked like she didn’t know she was going to trip down the stairs” Some students murmured to themselves.
“Melody, for I can remember Melody is the only Melody we have in Rock Prim s-enior highschool” I g-asped and ran to the students who walked p@$$ me.
“Excuse me, did you just say Melody trip down the stairs” I uttered anxiously.
“OMG! It’s Legend” They screamed excitedly.
“Answer my freaking question” I yelled and they shrinked.
“Yeah. She trip down the libr@ry stairs and she seem to hurt pretty bad” They explained and I ran off to our cl@$$room.
“Jasmine” I called out but she wasn’t in the cl@$$room.
“Jasmine left for the school clinic” Angela cut in then I ran to school clinic.
“Melody” I called out opening all the curtains at the clinic.
“Young Man keep down” The nurse warned.
“Melody’s not here. Nurse plea-se do you have any idea where Melody is” I asked curiously.
“Melody the beauty queen was transferred to a bigger clinic in the city. She had an serious arm fracture which nee-ds proper care that’s why she was transferred ” The nurse explained and I ran out of the clinic and dialed Jasmine’s number but it wasn’t connecting.
I tried calling Melody but her phone was switched off.
“Why the heck isn’t their phones connecting” I yelled as I hit my leg on the wall frustratingly.
Why did you let that happen to you Melody? Are you trying to torture me. I g-asped in my head frustratedly and a beep c@m£ on my phone.
It’s a text from Axel.
°°° Let’s meet by 8pm tonight at George’s restaurant down your street. You’ve got to come.°°°
The text seems serious. I hope it’s not going to be some awkward situation. I muttered in my mind staring at my phone.
