✨ CHAPTER 44 ✨
Logan sat next to Adena in the lobby, where they were waiting for Damon. She turned to him and noticed how pale he looked. She felt bad that he had to risk his mental and emotional health in order to bring her to the hospital.
“Are you okay?” She asked. He turned to her and nodded. He shifted his gaze to the glas-s window, it was still raining, but it wasn’t so heavy anymore.
“You didn’t have to get in the rain because of me” she added, folding her arms across her che-st.
“What should have I done? I had no idea what was wrong with you so I had to bring you here, to make sure you’re alright” he explained and she looked away. She didn’t like what her heart was doing. It was pulling her to the same man that tortured her.
Adena tried to resist, she really tried.
“Thank you” she murmured and he chuckled at her childish behavior.
“It’s alright, don’t thank me. I’m just glad you’re fine” he said and she sighed.
“You should change into some warm clothes, it’s cold” she pointed out. Logan looked at his w£t clothes and Gr0-ned.
“There’s nothing here for me to wear” he said.
“You can the nurses to give you one of the hospital gowns to wear” Adena answered and Logan blinked at her in surprise.
“Hospital gowns? No way” he scoffed.
“Unless you want to end up on the hospital bed, sick” she insisted.
“You’re going to get a cold if you stay in those clothes. The hospital gown is warm and dry” she continued and Logan Gr0-ned.
He smiled at her but she didn’t know why. Logan was happy that she cared about his health, at least it means that she doesn’t totally hate him.
“But it’s a gown..” he scrunched his face.
“You have to change, it’s an order” she said authoritatively and Logan’s eyes wide-ned at her audacity.
“Yes ma’am” he chuckled and approached the nurse.
The nurse took him into a private space to change his clothes. When he was done, he came back into the lobby, in the green ankle length gown. The other patients couldn’t help but smile and grin at his outfit.
“You see? Everyone’s laughing at me” Logan blus-hed, taking his seat next to Adena.
“Ignore them. Your health should matter more to you” she answered and unknowingly took his hand in hers. Logan was shocked by her action but she smiled at him.
“If anyone laughs at you, I’ll punch their teeth out” she said and he smiled warmly. Adena noticed that she was holding his hand and quickly let go. She adjusted her black gown and faced the entrance.
Few moments later, Damon walked into the hospital lobby and rushed over to where Logan and Adena were sitting.
“What happened? Is everything okay?” He asked, worried.
“Everything is fine, Adena just had an extreme reaction to the cold” Logan answered, getting to his feet.
“Oh, okay.. I..” Damon paused to look at Logan.
“Fu-ck dude! What are you wearing?” He asked and burst out laughing. Logan glared at him.
“Hahaha. You’ve had your laugh, can we go now?” Logan rolled his eyes and walked ahead of them. Damon tried to catch his breath and Adena giggled at their little act.
They entered the car and drove back to the mansion.
Logan did develop a minor cold, but it was nothing Liliana’s soup couldn’t fix.
“I should get going, ugh!” Damon Gr0-ned, ru-b-bing his temple.
“What happened?” Logan asked.
“Camilla is going to be so mad at me. I told her I’d be spending the whole day with her, but look, it’s almost 4pm” Damon explained and Gr0-ned again.
“Believe me, I know how it feels when a woman is angry with you. I know I’m not scared of anything, but I found a new fear” Logan said and Damon chuckled.
“What fear?”
“Afraid of Adena’s anger” he answered and they both laughed.
“Don’t worry dude. I’ll help you pull off something that will make her forget that she was ever angry in the first place” Logan said, holding Damon’s shoulder.
“What is that?” Damon asked.
“Let’s go to Tina’s palace and make a reservation first” Logan answered and he nodded.
They went downstairs and met Liliana with Antoinette and Adena, chattering happily.
“Ma, I’m going out with Damon for a while, I’ll be back soon” he informed, he rarely does that.
“Out?” Adena asked.
“You just got back, and you have a cold” she reminded and he smi-rked.
“Now, I know you’re worried about me, but don’t worry, I’ll be back soon.. babe” he winked at her and headed out with Damon who was grinning.
“Babe?” Antoinette asked, and then she squealed.
“He just called you babe!” She sang.
“So?” Adena asked, trying to hide the fact that she was blus-hing.
“Are you two, like a thing now?” Antoinette teased.
“Stop it okay? I don’t want anything to do with Logan” she stated.
“Why? He’s my son and I can testify that he has changed. You two will make a lovely couple” Liliana chipped in and Adena Gr0-ned, her cheeks were already bright red.
“You too ma?” She asked.
Liliana and Antoinette giggled.
“I’m going upstairs. I want to lie down” she left them and walked up to her room. She wouldn’t stop thinking about Logan’s fli-rty wink and the fact that he called her “babe”.
“Oh God, what’s happening to me? I must be so crazy, thinking about a person who caused me so much pain” she sighed and closed her eyes to get some sleep. But even in her sleep, she also saw Logan, he was everywhere. She hated it, but she didn’t want it to stop..

… 8:17pm …
“Honey” Damon called, crawling into the bed, next to Camilla. She pretended to be asleep, because she was very angry with him. He had promised to spend the whole day with her, but he failed.. again.
“Cam” he called again but she remained quiet, pretending to be asleep.
“Look I know you’re awake and you can hear me” he paused and took a de-ep breath.
“Baby I’m sorry okay? I’m sorry for letting you down. I really shouldn’t have but something important came up. I’m ready to make it up to you” he said and proceeded to ki-ss her ne-ck and ba-re shoulders.
Camilla pushed him off and covered herself with a blanket.
“I’m sorry. I want to make it up to you tonight. I have a surprise for you” he said and she flic-kered her eyes open. She loved surprises.
“Only if you agree to come with me to Tina’s palace” he added.
Tina’s palace? That is one of the most expensive restaurants in the city… She thought and sat up to face him, still frowning.
“What surprise?” She asked. He pulled her cheek with a grin on his face but she slapped his hand away.
“Baby, if I told you then it wouldn’t be a surprise” he winked.
Damon brou-ght out a br@nd new dress from un-der his pillow and handed it to her. It was a long, slender red dress and Camilla would look absolutely stunning in it.
“Come on, get dressed and put on light make-up. Our reservation is by 9pm, you wouldn’t want to miss our dinner” he ki-ssed her cheek and got off the bed.
“Oh, so the surprise is a dinner date?” She asked, rolling her eyes.
“Maybe” he smi-rked and went into the bathroom to take a quick shower, while Camilla hurriedly put on the dress.
They arrived at the restaurant at exactly 9pm and Camila was looking happy. She wasn’t angry anymore, all she wanted was to spend time with Damon. Although, she still was disappointed that he broke his promise to stay with her.
“Welcome. Please, follow me to your table” the smartly dressed waiter said and led them to a table in the center of the room.
Camilla and Damon were already famous people, so it wasn’t weird that they caught the attention of the other customers. Almost all eyes were on them.
“Ignore the stares Cam. Place your order” Damon said as they settled down.
“Oh I’m not worried about the stares, I get that a lot” she giggled.
“I’ll be having lasagna and pasta” she said and Damon raised his brow at her.
“Really? That’s weird” he scoffed.
“Well that’s what I want” she snapped.
“Alright alright. Get me salad” he said to the waiter who gave a nod and left.
Few minutes after they were done with their food, they ordered for ice cream and chattered happily while eating it. At a point, Camilla excused herself to use the bathroom.
By the time she came back, she met Damon on his knee, holding a small box, with a violinist behind him, playing a R0m-ntic melody. Two women holding flowers were standing beside Logan, all wearing bright smiles.
“Damon, what’s going on?” Her heart was thumping very fast, she knew what it was, and she was excited.
“I’ve always been entangled with the wrong women, I thought love didn’t exist, I never believed in love, not until I met you. You complete me, you make me whole, and in you I have found, true love and peace. I love you Camilla, and I would be ever so grateful and happy, if you accept to be my wife” he smiled at her and opened the box, revealing a big diamond ring.
Camilla couldn’t control her tears, this was the best surprise of her life.
“Will you marry me?” He asked.
“What the Fu-ck took you so long!? Yes! Yes! I’ll marry you!” She exclaimed and he placed the ring in her middle finger. It looked more beautiful on her. She pulled him up and hu-gged him.
Everyone present couldn’t stop clapping and admiring the couple. The whole thing was caught on video by the customers.
The ladies handed Camilla the flowers and congratulated her.
“I love you” she ki-ssed him.
