And that was it… that was where the whole story began… Ellen talked to her husband, Jones wasn’t comfortable with such thing when Ellen told him but considering the fact that Harriet helped them so much and if not for her help Loretta might be dead, she agreed to that and also considering the fact that Ellen will be paid handsomely each month until she delivers and hand the baby to the them. That money will be of great help to them…
???? Harriet was happy to know Ellen has agreed to help her and going throu-ghlots of tests Ellen was the perfect surrogate mother according to the doctor. They both agreed to move forward and decide to make it official by drafting a legal contract. Each parents have their own attorney to ensure that their legal interest are represented and protected. Ellen got a lawyer to review the legal aspects of the surrogacy, they discuss all legal aspects of the surrogacy from compensation to possible risks. Even thou Ellen never wanted to be paid.
She just want to help Harriet just the way Harriet helped her daughter but Harriet refuse to that. They have to make it legal and she will receive her pay. Her attorney review the contract that was drafted by Harriet and her husband to make sure it all matches to her request and for Harriet and her husband they’ve already discuss one-on-one with their attorney all the legal rights,
possible risks and the compensation they agreed with Ellen. They’re also the legal parents of the child which will allow them to make medical decision for the baby and include their names on the birth certificate which is called pre-birth certificate it’s also an important step in declaring the child as legally their own. Both parents agrees to the terms of the contract and each lawyer has review and approve it, it was signed and everything was done.
Since the contracts have been signed, they begin with the medical procedures to prepare for the embryo transfer, the process was handled in a fertility clinic.
Harriet was given medication to help her develop eggs she also undergo an egg retrieval procedure. The eggs were fertilized with the father’s sp-erm in the laboratory to create an embryo which will be incubated and a-ssessed for development prior which will later be transferred to the surrogate. Ellen also undergo fertility treatment prior to the embryo transfer.
After few weeks Ellen was prescribed to fertility medications prior to the transfer. The transfer procedure was quick and painless because it doesn’t require medication or anesthesia. Harriet was with Ellen at the fertility clinic few hours after the procedure, they later headed home for Ellen to rest as told by the doctor.
She hoped and prayed this whole things works because it also has it risk atimes- the pregnancy works fails. They have spent so much money on this but her main concern was for Ellen to be pregnant with her baby.
????A few weeks later Harriet and her husband returned with Ellen to the fertility clinic to take a pregnancy test.
“you’re four weeks pregnant,” The doctor said while Williams read for the test.
“what! Harriet was surprise as well.
“you’re pregnant Ellen, you’re carrying my baby,” Harriet said in tears as she hug-ged her.
“this is more than a sacrifice, thank you so much Ellen,” she smiled.
“it’s still not over Ma’am. The surrogate mother has to continue visiting us here for regular blood tests and ultrasounds to track the progress of the pregnancy,” the doctor explained.
“that won’t be a problem doctor. Ellen will adhere to all instruction,” said Harriet.
“thanks doc,”
Ellen was seated at the sitting room- @ Harriet mansion she’ll be staying there until she gives birth so they would take good care of her and ensure everything went fine. Ellen was happy for Harriet, at least this the only way she can help her, Harriet deserves the best and she have choose to help her carry her baby but she miss her husband and her daughter. That wasn’t a problem to Harriet she has already gave Ellen permission to invite anyone she wants to and also to visit her husband and daughter.
“Ellen,” Harriet smile as she walked to her room holding a glas-sof fruit juice.
“this is for you,” Harriet gently dropped the juice on a hereby table.
“you don’t have to do this Harriet,”
“i just want to take care of you and my baby. Am so happy to know you’re pregnant Ellen,”
“i feel so happy helping you Harriet. I feel so satisfied giving you a selfless gift of motherhood in just few months from now you’ll be a mother,” Ellen smiled.
“you’ve sacrificed so much to be here and i know you miss your husband and daughter you can always invite them or you can visit them but don’t stress yourself please,”
“thanks a lot,”
“so tell me how does it feels to be pregnant, when you were pregnant with Loretta how does it feels to carry your own baby? Harriet trying to hide the sadness in her voice. She felt so sad knowing she can never be the one to carry her own baby,
it pains her so much to know another woman is carrying her baby- does that even make her a mother, a mother who couldn’t carry her own baby for nine months in her womb. She wish things will turn around and one day she will be able to be pregnant to experience the joy of motherhood, she felt life was so unfair to her but she was happy to know she still have Williams by her side who always support her in everything.
“hi,” William smile as he walked in…
” Harriet you should let her rest for now,”
“yeah i think so. Please Ellen don’t stress yourself,” Harriet said as she stood up.
“Ellen! Williams called as he stare at her.
“thank you, thank you for your sacrifice and everything we really appreciate,” he smiled while Ellen nodded.
Harriet walked to their bedroom and sat down, trying to hold back her tears.
“hey.. i thought you’re happy Ellen is now pregnant?
“am sorry Williams… am so sorry,” she whimpered.
“for what exactly? he cooed as he pulled her into a hug.
“for not being the one to carry your child, i should be one pregnant but it’s the other way round, i feel so useless. Am your wife Williams and i can’t even seems to do anything on my own, i can’t even be the one to carry my own baby am just so useless,” she cried.
“Sunshine… i thought everything will be over after this whole thing of the surrogacy. I don’t care about any of these Harriet, i don’t care if you are the one carrying our child or not. I love you Harriet and to me you’re the most valuable and the only important person to me. I love you despite everything but you know what you’re starting to annoy me with all your negative talks,” he said wiping her tears with his thumb.
“am sorry.. i just felt bad about the whole situation,”
“it’s okay. Once Ellen put to be successfully and hand over our baby to us we will be that happy family you’ve always wanted. We will raise our child to be someone we’ll be proud of so just forget about everything for now and think only about me and our unborn baby,” he cooed then plant a ki-ss on her forehead.
Ellen was the one pregnant but Harriet was with her every step of the way after what Williams told her she decide to be strong even thou she wasn’t the one carrying her own child she loved the unborn baby and always pray for a safe delivery for Ellen, she can’t wait for the baby to be born. She always take care of Ellen and make sure Ellen and the unborn baby are doing fine.
.. Seven months later…
Things drastically changed that Harriet couldn’t understand. Williams was more close to Ellen more than before and Ellen was as well so clingy, she always prefer Williams by her side than Harriet. Seven months has pa-ssed by and it only two months before the due date of the delivery Ellen want to Win Williams heart. She totally forgot she was doing all that to help Harriet, jealous and greed overcome her heart. She felt so jealous seeing the way Williams still loves his wife despite everything,
she thought she’ll be a distraction to him since she’s the one carrying his own child, she wonders how it feels to be Williams wife, to be known by all and to have all the money and luxury life they live. She really enjoyed her stay in their house and with the remaining two months left she wanted to stay more, she wished Williams will look at her in the eyes and tell her all those things she usually tells Harriet because she has gradually fallen for him within those months.
Harriet was back from work one hectic evening, she headed to Ellen room to check up on her but was shocked by what she saw- Ellen and Williams ki-ssing. She was shocked as she watch them in tears. She always knew their closeness these days wasn’t normal but Williams always tells her he was just trying to make sure Ellen is doing so well with their baby. Confronting them at that time was pointless to Harriet,
she don’t want to hurt Ellen because she was heavily pregnant now hurting her simply means hurting her own baby. She quietly walked back to their bedroom and wept this was what she feared the most. Ellen might steal her husband from her but she try to comfort herself it just two months remaining and after that she will have her baby while Ellen will leave for good.
* “am sorry baby.. am sorry for not being the one to carry you. I wish you’ll never experience what am pa-ssing throu-ghwhen you grow up, i wish you will have a normal life like other couple and wouldn’t go throu-ghthe stress of all this. No matter what i will be strong enough to have you in my arms and also your dad by my side, i won’t let our family down,” Harriet said in tears, she decide to bear the pain, she didn’t confront Ellen or Williams she just let them be to maintain peace for the time being.
Few days later..✨
Harriet was more heartbroken when she caught them for the second time, this time was in their bedroom, she was just coming from her study room and was surprise to see same thing happening again, this time she couldn’t hold her anger, she rush to the room and dragged Ellen, she slapped her ha-rd and pushed her but Williams was quick enough to hold her
“you bit-ch ! what else did you want from my husband? she yelled at her in tears.
“am doing what you as a woman can’t do to him,” Ellen replied rashly and Harriet slapped her again.
“Harriet.. please,” Williams pleaded.
“stay out of this,” she yelled back at Williams.
“the next time i catch you close to my husband i will hurt you so bad Ellen,” she yelled while Ellen laughed sarcastically.
“hurt me! well am not surprised because you don’t even care you’re hurting your baby as well that’s because you’re not a mother and can never be one. Am the one carrying his child so i should be the one he should ki-ss and romance. I have sacrifice a lot, i left my husband and my daughter just to help you be a mother something you couldn’t do, you incompetent woman,” Ellen fired back while Harriet stood in shocked not knowing what to say, her eyes were filled with tears. Ellen once had so much respect for her but everything has changed now she’s using her situation to rub it right t her face. Now Ellen is one insulting her, she wonder where she was wrong and where on earth did Ellen got such nerves to speak to her in such an abusive manner.
“incompetent! Harriet said in tears.
“just go back to your room Ellen,” Williams said in hoarse voice while Ellen walked out in anger. Harriet sat on the bed and cried.
“am sorry Harriet,” Williams cooed which make her so angry, she slapped him and ask him to leave her alone.
“we were just carried away… i know am stupid, just call me anything you want but is you i love,” he said remorsefully.
“this isn’t the only time i saw you ki-ssing her, just few days back you both were ki-ssing each other in her room,” she yelled.
“am sorry!
“or is that your own way to take care of her and the baby? Why is life being so unfair to me…..” she cried..????
