Chapter 13

We both sat on the neat tiled floor. I la-id my head on his shoulder as he watched his interlocked f!ngersresting on his knees.
I remembered Lily’s words.
I then thought if I should actually hear his story.
“Axel?” I called quietly.
“Hmm?” He replied.
I kept mute for a while. I didn’t know how to say it. I had to say something though.
“When will libr@rian come to unlock the door for now? I’m tired and my…legs hurts”
“Sorry. you were the one that told me to fv¢k you real ha-rd ”
“Must you say it?” I eyed him.
“Sorry” He muttered.
I sighed and tiredness made me keep my head back on his shoulder.
“Axel?” I called again.
“Yea?” He answered.
“I’m gonna listen to you now. Tell me your story” I said.
“My story?” He looked at my face.
“Hmm” I nodded.
He sighed.
“I’m leaving U.S to Iceland” He said.
I quic-kly controlled myself. I didn’t want to act surprise.
“What?” I asked quietly.
“Why?” I asked, taking my head off him.
“My dad asked me to” He replied.
“Its just the same story with Vins’ but his mom in the other case”
“And why is that?” I asked.
“My dad wants me to get engaged to some lady there. I think her name was- He paused and rou-ghed his hair.
“I’ve forgotten” He chuckled.
“Why are you laughing? Is it funny?” I asked.
“No… Its a sad laughter. I’m simply laughing cause he’s gonna kill me”
“What? Who?”
“He’s gonna kill me for forgetting her name. My dad hates trash. A disciplinarian. A no nons-en-se man” Axel chuckled.
I looked away.
“So, Rose?” He called.
I looked at him.
“Should I go or not?” He asked.
I looked at him briefly. He looked back t me into my eyes.
“….Go” I whispered.
His eyes blinked that instant.
“Who called? Sorry I’m late” The libr@rian said and walked in.
I quic-kly stood up and gr@bb£d my bag. I left without saying anything.
“By the way,, what were you two-
“Thanks for coming, sir and sorry for the inconvenience” Axel uttered and walked out.
He hurried outside but I was gone alre-ady. He sighed de-eply and kicked his leg in frustration.
The Next Morning, 7:08 am**
Axel ran into the libr@ry quic-kly. He was p@n-ting seriously.
“Sir,, plea-se” He called.
“Oh,, you are the boy of yesterday?” The libr@rian asked.
“Yes” Axel replied, trying to catch his breath.
“Did you run?” He asked, in surprise.
“plea-se, forget about that. I’m sorry but I nee-d… shelf 7 CCTV footage now” Axel said.
“What?”
“plea-se,, I’ll buy it at any price. Let me just have it” Axel begged.
“Huh?… Someone c@m£ at early as 7:05 am and bought it”
“What?!”
“What’s it about anyways?”
“fv¢k!” Axel screamed and looked around. He gnashed his teeth before running out.

“Dad?” Axel called, entering the office.
He saw the angry look on Mr Wins face.
“You… you never change, do you-
“Dad, plea-se” Axel quic-kly got down on his knees.
“I got few men to tail you. They noticed your unsual pres£nce at the libr@ry late and decided to get the CCTV footage. you won’t believe what I saw!” He screamed and threw a mug on his face.
The mug managed to sl!pright away from Alex’s face but he wasn’t too lucky cause it scratched his left side of his face,, leaving a small open cut.
“The more you stay here, the more you get add!çted to that dangerous flower. You won’t be staying till next month anymore. You leave tomorrow at dawn to Iceland immediately”
“Dad!”
“And don’t you say a word”
“At least,, lemme see my mum before you leave”
“And you’ll will,, after you must have proposed to-,,, ah,,, wait… what’s her name again,, remind me… I wanna see how serious you are”
“Dad,, i- Axel swallowed ha-rd and wiped his sweat.
“I’m sorry..I can’t remember” He muttered in tears.
“Sh*t!” Mr Wins shouted and kicked Axel heavily on his stomach.
He gr-unted and fell down.
“How many times do I have to tell you. Her name is Mara. What did I say?” He kept on kicking him.
“Mara…Mara…Mara” Axel gro-an ed in pains and soon began rolling on the floor.
The Next Morning**
I was at Elvis lounge and we seemed to have settled too. I la-id on his b©dy while we stayed on the be-d.
“So,, now,,, everything is alright, I hope?” He asked.
“Sure” I giggled.
*Beep* That was my phone.
“Hold on” I muttered.
I checked my phone and it was a message from Axel. It re-ad;
I’m leaving now, At the airport right now.
I inhaled de-eply and switched off my phone.
“Who was that?” He asked.
I wi-de-ned my eyes.
“Just…spam” I lied.
“Alright,, Wait a bit, let me use the toilet” Elvis said and stood up.
I muttered an okay. When he left, I sat upright on the be-d, thinking and b!tt!g my f!nger nails.
After 5 minutes, he c@m£ out. He had an unhappy look with a t©uçh of anger on his face.
“Elvis? What is it?” I asked, standing up.
He looked de-eply at me from afar.
“Rose?” He called.
“Yes?” I answered.
“Do you love me?” He asked, seriously.
I chuckled nervously.
“Elvis” I muttered.
“Why the odd question? What’s wrong?”
“DO YOU LOVE ME!!” He roared.
I shivered and tears slowly escaped my eyes. We shared an intense stare for a really long time.
“I don’t know. I…I just don’t know” I said, quic-kly.
“Someone anonymous s£nt that”
He sighed and ru-bbe-d his forehead. He threw his phone on the be-d and I caught sight of a video pla-ying. It was the se-x video in the libr@ry. My whole b©dy shook at once. I took my eyes slowly to Elvis.
“Thank you for telling me” He said, with tears running down his cheeks.

I ran as my legs could carry me..I finally st©pped when I got to the exact place. My eyes met with Axel climbing the pri-vate jet stairs alre-ady.
“Axel!” I screamed.
Some men were with him. He paused and slowly turned back.
“Don’t go” I begged.
Axel’s father was inside alre-ady. He sighed de-eply and without replying, he entered.
“Don’t go, plea-se” I started crying.
And right before my eyes, I saw the jet begin to soar high up.
“No,,, plea-se” I sobbe-d,, watching it leave in the sky.

Axel sat down on the chair, close to his father. Mr Wins eyes were closed. He rested his head on the chair rest and his face seemed happy.
Axel sighed. He breathed in and out as soon as the jet started soaring high.
“Mr Wins?” One of his men called, rushing towards him.
“And why is an ingrate fool disturbing my peace?” Mr Wins asked.
The man was p@n-ting heavily.
“Sir. Its about Mara’s dad. Mr Kaleb” The man said.
Mr Wins flew his eyes open and he sat upright that instant. Axel was just watching, trying to get what was going on.
“What’s with Mr Kaleb? Did he say he won’t agree with the marriage plans anymore?” He glared.
“No” The man was still p@n-ting.
“Then, what is it? I hope nothing goes wrong! Cause he promised me a lot of contracts and endorsement deals with my hospital if the marriage between our children becomes a success”
Axel scoffed as the statement. Now he un-derstood why Mr Wins was dying to marry him off. His mind was rotten and br@zen.
“Can someone explain things to me before I go crazy!” Mr Wins shouted.
He noticed the men sharing glances with one another. No one was volunteering to break the bad news.
“You don’t wanna talk! Should I rip y’all mouth?” He snarled.
“Mr Kaleb was reportedly found dead. He died due to shock” One said, with a trembling voice.
“Wh…at? what did you say?” Mr Wins blinked his eyes fast.
He stood up on his feet and held the man’s collar ti-ght. Now, Axel un-derstood why they feared to tell Mr Wins the bad news. He would direct the rage to the teller.
“What did you just say?” He grumbled.
“Shock? What shock? Why would he get shocked? Why would he die of shock? What sort of maniac sort was that!? Was it a shock of happiness that Axel was coming over to propose to Mara? I don’t un-derstand! Why was that filthy rich fv¢king old man shocked!”
“Cause Mara commited suicide” The man said, trembling.
“Wha…whaaat?”
“Mara committed suicide cause she didn’t want to get married to someone her father set up. When her father heard of it, he had a shock which cause a heart attack. He died immediately he was rushed to the hospital”
“fv¢k! scre-w them! I hope the flames of hell burns them to ashes!” He screamed, kicking the man.
The man m0@n ed in pain and Mr Wins slowly let go of him.
“Turn the jet over!” He screamed.
“Sir?” The pilot asked.
“I said,, turn the fv¢king jet over!!”
“Yes sir!”
Axel sighed. Should he be happy or not?
A thick smile ran throu-gh hisl-ips.
“And why should I be sad?” He thought.

I entered my room in tears. I la-id on the be-d, crying de-eply.
I was sorry for Elvis, number one.
He loved me dearly and because of my stupid se-x life, I ended up breaking and wounding his heart.
“Geez. I’m such a freak. What’s wrong with me?” I thought hitting my che-st.
“Who leaked that, though? Why…no,, why…Oh goodness,, I’m so dead” I muttered crying the more.
Julie walked in immediately.
“Hey?” She called.
“Are you alright?” She asked.
I looked with her with my red eyes. I quic-kly wiped my tears away and nodded.
“I’m great,,, gotta go” I said and stood up.
I was alre-ady opening the door when her statement halted me.
“Elvis called. He wasn’t feeling too good. He was crying badly. I asked what happened. He said,, you would know. What’s going on? Did you two-
“We broke up” I quic-kly spewed.
“What? Why?”
“Cause of Axel” I said.
“I…don’t un-derstand. Axel?”
“Yes, I still love him”
“Rose!”
“I actually thought I loved and missed his di-ck…It wasn’t that. I missed him. Everything about him. And I still love him”
“You know you shouldn’t be doing this! Axel… He is a bad boy. You won’t stay in this school any longer too,, you know that”
“And that’s the reason why it’s so ha-rd to get him off my head. Axel being a bad boy drives me so crazy. I don’t care if I get chased from Bridgeford. Besides, I’ve transferred schools before. Doing it again will be a piece of cake. So, if you wanna threaten me with that, it won’t work”
“…. Elvis,,, how is he gonna live now?” Julie muttered.
I turned over and saw her eyes. It was pure and sad. I saw clear tears alre-ady forming. I bit my lowerl-ip, in guilt. I couldn’t reply.
“The same way I lived” I heard Axel’s voice say. He had opened the door, looking at us.
“Axel?” My eyes twitched. Tears fell from them. Axel sighed and walked in.
“Axel?” Julie muttered.
“Hi” Axel whispered.
“I….I thought you left” I cried.
He slowly shook his head and I hvgged him ti-ghtly.
“Goodness,,, I’ve missed you so much” I sniffed.
“Me too” He replied.
“Rose…Let’s go see Elvis first” He muttered.
I broke the hvg and de-eply looked into his eyes. He wiped my tears and I ru-bbe-d my nose.
With a sincere smile, I nodded and replied;
“Okay…”
