P@$$ twelve midnight. Headlight of Jimmy’s motorcycle soared throu-ghthe lonely road with Rachael behind, engulfing his wa-ist like the grip of a star fish on its prey. The tyres of the motorcycle rotated according to the speed that could be recorded on the speedometer until they arrived to their destination, pulled over in front of Jimmy’s compound. They could see the scene of the accident still being surveyed by some people. They ignored them and entered into the house. Luckily, electricity arrived, illuminating every nook and cranny of the house. Only then did Jimmy really see Rachael’s appearance as she stood beside a chair. The w-etelastic ti-ght gown had shrinked on her body, showcasing the lining shape of her br-a and pa-ntwhich got Jimmy staring at her lustfully, but was caught immediately.

“Hey, why looking at me like that?” Rachael broke the silence.

Jimmy cleared his throat. “I’m sorry. You can use the bathroom in my room while I dress the bed.”

“For what?”

“For sleep. What else?”

Rachael hesitated to speak again as she was walking towards the room. Just at the door, she turned. “Like we’re sleeping on the same bed?”

“If you have any problem with it, go back to where you came from!” Jimmy did not only sound rude but also acted like one as he pointed at the exit throu-ghwhich the young girl should make use of if she likes. Surprisingly, Rachael grabbed her bag and surged towards the exit, opened the door and left. Jimmy’s breathing rate increa-sed coz he couldn’t believe it. To him, it was like watching the woman he loves being taken away by another man. So he rushed out immediately.

“Rachael!” he called her but the girl kept going. “Rachael, I’m sorry!” he added thereby making the girl to stop, but didn’t look back. She could hear Jimmy’s apologetic footsteps coming from behind and his voice seeming more gentle than ever. “Please, I’m really sorry. The rude pa-rt of me took over me. I don’t mind sleeping on the cushion while you use the bed. Please, come back. It’s very late to hit the road.”

Rachael slowly turned to see him very close, looking very sorry like a repented soul. In his eyes, she could see the love he has for her, burning like fire regardless of her own hatred for him and nonchalant attitude too. She wondered what he saw in her that others like Kris couldn’t see.

Jimmy could hear splash of water from his bathroom while he was dressing his own bed for Rachael to sleep if she comes out from the bathroom. Sooner did the girl come out with Jimmy’s own towel tied from the thorax and flopped half away her thi-ghs. She stopped at the sight of the dressed bed without seeing the dresser. On top of the bed were Jimmy’s white polo shirt and a flexible short knicker left for her to wear, hoping she would. Rachael found herself smiling at the R0m-ntic move only to realize herself. Was she beginning to have a different thought about him? Was she falling for him? No way! she ha-rdened her heart, untied the towel, drying her body properly. One could see her bre-ast occasionally thr-usted up and down using the towel. On the two sides of her bu-tt were dimples that could attra-cte the eyes of any man. Sprouting hair could also be seen on her pv$$y when she walked na-kedto her bag, brou-ght out a pa-ntand wore it immediately. Even the line of her outer labia could be seen throu-ghit. She brou-ght out her own night wear to put on, but glanced at Jimmy’s cloths on the bed. She walked to the bed, reluctantly picked up the shirt and smelt it. It had no odour neither did it have the smell of a perfume which means it was naturally clean. Once again, she caught herself smiling.

On the other hand, Jimmy had quickly freshened up from her mother’s bathroom, laid on the cushion with eyes open, watching night programme on the television. Suddenly, he heard the door of his room opened and Rachael’s voice saying, “You can come sleep with me.. I mean…come lie on the bed with me”

“No, thanks. I’m fine here” Jimmy replied without standing or looking back at her.

“I said you should come and lie on the bed!”

“And I said no!”

“Why are you so stubborn, Jimmy?!”

The boy provoked once again as he was standing and saying, “What is wrong with girls?! You wanted to leave because you never wanted me on the same bed with you, and now you’re forcing me to….” he paused when he finally stood up to see his cloth beautifully fitted on her body. He could even see her Nip-ples struggling to puncture out throu-ghthe polo. Seeing all that, the young boy became dumb.

“Are you coming or not?” Rachael wi-dely opened the door.

“What if I say I’m not?” Jimmy objected.

“Then I’ll leave your house”

The boy exhaled. “Alright” he put off the television, walking into his room and wondering how a girl could just take charge of him in his own house within a few hours of stay. “Married men see a lot.” he concluded in his heart. Both laid on the bed face up with eyes looking at the ceiling.

“What exactly is our plan tomorrow?” Rachael broke the silence.

“Finding out from your parents how you were abducted. It will probably lead us to the world of the Talibans if they open up to you.” Jimmy replied.

“When the m@$$ will know about this, everybody will see me as a witch.”

“Don’t be afraid. We’re in this together.”

“But why me?”

“I guess your parents or the Talibans manipulating you have an answer to that question.”

Both became quiet again, Jimmy stretched his hand on the wall behind him and put off the light. “Good night, Rachael” He turned his back on her. Rachael did the same without replying him in the darkness. “The shirt looks good on you.” the boy’s voice paved again in the dark silent room, yet Rachael said nothing.

“Jimmy?” she called as an afterthought. “If breaking my V¡rginity will end all this will you wish I do it?” she queried.

“With me?”

“Of course not! Anybody.”

Jimmy hesitated in the silence as the girl waited for his response. “…the echoes of scary shadows roar to the skies… As the stories of love cracks in rhymes… the ember eyes of a Taliban stare from the dark” he reminded her some lines of the poem then continued with a concern voice. “Rachael, I know you don’t love me. I know I’m unworthy to have you, but remember there is a shadow staring from the dark, monitoring you. So the only thing I wish this moment, is to wake up alive.”

His words sounded very educative to her which simply means Jimmy abducted Mr Kim’s ways of approaching situation like an educated adult. Rachael fell in love with his words and said, “Your wish will be granted, Jimmy. But do you see me as a freak?”

“I see you as the girl who nee-ds my help and… and… a girl I love.” He replied.

Rachael smiled in the darkness. “Good night, Jimmy and thanks for the shirt” she said as an afterthought….

Silence had swallowed the creepy sound of the night. Darkness, overshadowing light from twinkle stars as the ticking hands of the clock in Jimmy’s room made a calculative sound in the darkness, though not withstanding to hear noticeable footsteps of any invisibility that would scarily enter the room to torment him on the bed because Rachael must not juxtapose with any man until she fulfils her destiny. Now you can vividly un-derstand why Jimmy wished to wake up on the same bad with her alive.

Nevertheless, following the silence that stretched throu-ghthe city of Ghene, Jimmy je-rked awake to a hooting owl. He climbed down from the bed to the window without putting on the light or waking Rachael up. He held the metal protector of the window with his two hands to have a clearer view of the hooting owl. Vividly, he saw it on a tree, hooting continuously and disturbing the quiet neighbourhood. That reminded him two lines of the poem which he soliloquized saying, “I see the creeping insects bleed to their alleys… as the fiery creepy owl hoots…”

He directed his eyes to the base of the tree to see an old gray headed man, standing un-der the tree with a staff and glowing in a white garment.

He felt another scary goose bumps on his skin, glanced at sleeping Rachael then quietly and unabashedly walked out to the darkness to meet the man. He could hear his own footsteps as he was moving until he stopped a few meters away from the man. Meanwhile, the owl had stopped hooting.

“Who are you, old man?” his voice paved around the neighbourhood rudely.

The man turned to him with a smile. Jimmy could see a long white bears on his jaw like a Chinese Kungfu master. “Who do you think i am, little boy?” the man asked him.

“I have only imagined someone like you from a story called ‘Den of Cleverness’.”

“With Ken the clever lad. Hmm.. well, I’m real”

Unbelievably, Jimmy took few steps closer. “Are you really Ikuku from Ututu?”

“Flesh and blood” the man averted his eyes to the scene of the accident while Jimmy met him in a closer range also staring at the scene. “You are the only one who could interpret my poem.”

“You wrote the poem?” Jimmy glanced at him.

“Yes, lad. I foresaw this day then wrote it”

They remained quiet, still staring at the scene only to be startled by the flying away of the owl. Jimmy looked up to see a br-anch of the tree shaking but was brou-ght to focus by Ikuku’s voice.

“The future of the Talibans lies in the hands of Amaya while the future of the humans lies in your hands”

“I still don’t un-derstand the whole thing”

“Everyone has a destiny. As Amaya’s destiny is to rele-ase the Talibans, so your destiny is to stop her.”

“Why her? She doesn’t even know who she is!”

“Follow me” Ikuku briskly began to walk into a darkness followed by Jimmy who was only in a short and singlet.

Ikuku took the boy to the world of the Talibans with yokes on oxen. The world looks blue in the eyes due to the blue sun. Jimmy stared at a spherical transparent object that also glows in a blue colour. “The yolk” he whispered.

“The Talibans are immortals but can be killed with weapons. They belief and worship ‘night rain’ but unfortunately destroyed by humans in a war decades ago. Only a few Talibans camouflage to be humans, living among us and vowed to bring back their kind alive. They can only do that with a child born un-der the rain at night as a sign from their gods..”

FLASH BACK
Heavily, the rain poured at night when a woman saw a pregnant woman delivering by the road side.

“Please, help me!” the pregnant woman cried un-der the rain, lying on the ground.

The woman looked around, helped the pregnant woman delivered but killed her afterwards. She carried the baby up like a priestess dedicating a child to the gods, saying, “Truly this is a sign from the gods of the Talibans. She shall be called Amaya. She shall know no man and begins to fulfil her destiny from her 17th birthday”

CONTINUITY
“Amaya has six more night raining days to cause accident from several places whose blood of the victim is taken by the shadow.” Ikuku expatiated “You have to stop her before she dies on the quest or have the Talibans awaken.” He added.

“But how?” Jimmy asked.

“You must take her to the yolk make her drink from the blood she slaughters by her own dancing.” He looked at him with a smile. “Only you can do that, lad”

“Why me?”

“You know the answer; your spirit is stubborn for them to have their way in you. But if the Talibans awakes before you do this, you and everyone will be as good as dead.” Ikuku substantiated..

Jimmy found himself on his bed again. Day had broken and Rachael gone. Could his meeting with Ikuku be a dream? No, It was so real to be one! So he rushed out of the house, climbed his motorcycle and sped off to the residence of Mr Ojile to see the family standing at the doorstep as if they were expecting him. Rachael stood in between her parents with the mother care-ssing her hair.

“Rachael?” Jimmy hesitated to walk up the stairs to meet them. “Good morning Mr and Mrs Ojile. Why are you people outside? And why the glare at me?” he asked, but none said a word. “If it is about last night, I can explain.”

“How dare you poison me against my parents, Jimmy?” Rachael spoke up.

“What are you talking about?”

“You made me believe I’m the cause of the accident while you are the one! My father showed me our DNA test. They’re my real parents and you’re evil to use me for your own devilish act! I hate you!”

“Rachael is not true!” Before Jimmy knew what of happening, policemen arrived and began to handcuff him.

“Take this boy that kidnapped my daughter and poisoned her mind for his own evil act. He’s the soul culprit of the cause of the accident. I have my evidence!” Mr Ojile ordered.

The policemen began to drag Jimmy away as he was shouting, “Rachael, they’re lying to you! They must have manipulated this too! The Talibans are real! Rachael, you nee-d to believe me! Rachael!! Amaya!!!” Jimmy exclaimed from the police vehicle, seeing as Rachael was shedding tears……
