Advantage Episode 6

The Muslims’ call to prayer woke me up the

next morning. I noticed I was alone on my

be-d, which wasn’t the case last night. I

guessed she must have woken up earlier to

check on the kids. I wholly forgot they

existed last night.

I looked around for my phone. It was in the

parlour. I picked it up and saw some missed

calls. One from Biodun, my neighbour, and

the other was an unknown number. Biodun

didn’t come home last night as usual. He

enjoyed clubbing every Friday night with

some of his friends. I had little credit on my

phone. As a result, I decided to call him at

Nureni’s shop on my way to work, but the

other unknown number—I doubted it.

I checked on Ayo before leaving for work. I

was glad Udenme was not in the parlour

when i did.

I st©pped at Nureni’s shop on my way to

work to make the call. I met two women,

one was using the phone while the other

was waiting. I had to wait for my turn. The

conversation of the woman before me was

quite amusing. I was listening in on her

conversation. Her voice didn’t make it seem

she wanted to keep her discussion pri-vate.

She was raising some ‘Yoru-ba made’ curses

on the phone to someone who was not ha-rd

to guess was her husband.

Few minutes later, I was with the phone. I

dialled Biodun’s number. He wanted me to

deliver a message to his sister last night.

The conversation didn’t take up to 23

seconds as I speedily checked the running

time on the phone’s screen. We had to talk

about other things till the call duration was

00:59. I ended the call.

Nureni took the phone to confirm the

duration used before I dialled the unknown

number that called me last night. ‘’Hello,’’ I

greeted. ‘’Hello’’ a calm lady-like voice

responded.

‘’I missed a call of this number on my

phone last night.’’’

‘’And you’re?’’ she asked

curiously. ‘’Galacious,’’ I answered.

‘’Oh! Galacious. So Ronaldo went to be-d

very early last night?’’

I got the joke in her question, but I was just

so anxious to know the female Gbenga

Adeyinka ma-king it.

‘’plea-se who am I speaking with?’’, I asked

softly. ‘’Princess’’, she responded.

Well, I only knew one princess at that time.

The stunning creature that was hit by the

ball last Sunday. She also turned out to be

Mrs Williams’ daughter. The one that has

been in my dreams for a while now. I tried

getting her number from Chinenye with the

excuse of apologizing for the field incident.

The excuse seemed lame to Chinenye that

she refused to let out her number. The one

in which her missed call would have been

the last thing I would have expected to see

on my Nokia 6080.

Me: Princess, from where?

Princess: From National stadium

Me: Excuse me?

Princess: is that how fast you forget the

lady you hit with your Sunday Oliseh’s sh0t

last Sunday?

Me: My bad. Is this Chinenye ‘s friend?

Princess: Kinda

Me: Really? I don’t remember giving you……

She interrupted.

Princess: Now st©p pretending like you

haven’t been trying to get my number.

Me: Well that’s true. So I could apologize

properly for the National Stadium’s

incident.

We both chuckled

Princess: Apology accepted

Me: Thanks

Princess: Is that all your nee-ded my number

for?

Me: Yes. Is there any other reason?

Princess: Hmmm, don’t worry. Shouldn’t

you be at work?

She switched the subject.

Me: Yea. I’m on my way

Princess: Ok then. Don’t let me del@yyou

Me: Well, It will be worth it

She chuckled

Princess: Thanks for calling

Me: Yeah. You’re welcome

I glanced at Nureni’s face as I pressed the

red bu-tton on the phone, but I was

surprised to meet it smiling. I was

wondering If it was my conversation that

put the smile on his grace until I checked

the last call duration. Then it hit me——-5

minutes!

Advantage Episode 7

I didn’t notice the expression on my face

was glaring till my supervisor c@m£ to me

and said, ‘’Galacious, you have been

smiling all day, even when offloading the

50kg sodium.

You win lottery?’’

Chidi cut in like the question was directed

at him. ‘’Lottery gini? Oga this kind smile

and the type person dey smile on Saturday

when a babe don promise to show on

Sunday.

I managed to dodge the conversation

without answering the supervisor’s

question. Chidi was right on one hand, ‘a

babe’ was involved. Matter-of-factly a

Princess. On the other hand, no, ‘babe

promised to show’.

I bought a voucher at Nureni’s on my way

home. I checked on the kids, who were busy

with their homework. I greeted Udenme the

way I usually do, pretending nothing

happened.

Like she didn’t rock my world last night. I

didn’t even know where I got the ginger to

work the way I did at the factory earlier

today.

Well, about that, I think Princess was

responsible.

I took a shower and headed to Biodun’s flat

as he was alre-ady back from work at that

time.

He brou-ght out the ‘’Wh0t card Game’’.

We pla-yed for a while before I started the

conversation.

Me: Guess who called me last night?

Biodun: Your mum

We both chuckled.

Me: you no sari guess

Biodun: You know na. Oya hit me

Me: That babe I told you’’

Biodun: Chinenye ‘s friend?

Me:Yep

Biodun: Looto? (for real?)

I nodded to confirm.

Biodun: How she take get your number?

Me: I don’t know. I don’t even want to.

Biodun: So you don let her know as e dey

go?

Me: No, In eve bur-st. We didn’t talk much.

You

know

Biodun: Ok so you wan to pl@ythe pla-yer’s

game now?

Me: I don’t get It

Biodun: How are you going to cope with

two babes na?

Which two babes na?

Biodun: Chinenye ‘s friend and Udenme?

Me: Udenme ke?

Biodun: Guy no dey feign ignorance here. I

know as e dey go.

I don’t really know why I was trying to hide

the Udenme affair from him. He was my

confidant when it comes to issues like that.

I could trust him with almost anything—-

almost.

So I let it all out. I was still narrating the

last

night’s rumble to him before me phone

rang.

The caller id was ’’Princess’’. I alre-ady

saved her number after I knew it was hers.

Princess: hey Chinny, plea-se what time is

tomorrow’s practise again?

Me: Wish I knew

Princess: Wish…… oh! Sorry. I wanted to dial

my friend’s number. I’m very sorry

Me: It’s ………

She hung up before I could tell her that was

not a problem. I told Biodun about it and

he was of the opinion she did that

deliberately.

I picked up the phone again and called her

back.

Me: hello

Princess: he, I told you the call was a

mistake.

Me: I heard you’re the first time. I was

about to call you when the call c@m£ in.

Princess: hmmm

So we spoke for few minutes before my

N200 naira credit ran out. She called back

immediately and the conversation

continued. I got though know she and

Chinenye attend the same tutorial clas-s.

I strode out of Biodun ‘s flat few minutes

later. I tried checking on the kids but the

entrance door was locked. I didn’t bother to

knock. I went straight to my room. I

couldn’t just st©p thinking about Princess’

voice. I just couldn’t.

It wasn’t ha-rd to know that she got a thing

for me too. Well, perhaps not as much as I

got for her. We discussed about ourselves,

our lives, and academic plans. She couldn’t

help but confess ‘’i like you, you’re so

ambitious despite your humble

background.’’ She was right about the

ambition, but not just academically.

After our conversation, I knew we were

going to be very close real soon. Now, how

do deal with my calabar fling? I thought

about it and decided to end whatever I have

gotten myself into with her.

I was still in my room trying to change to

my nightclothes before I heard a short

knock on the door before opening. I peeped

at the parlour and it was Udenme. She was

on a ti-ght t©p and a mini Sk-irt.

Udenme: Are you avoiding me?

Me: avoid you? Why in the world will I do

that?

Udenme: well, let’s see…..maybe last

night’s encounter was so overwhelming that

you can’t handle another royal rumble

tonight.

Me: royal……

That was only the word my mouth could

form before myl-ips was covered by hers.

We were k!ss!ngwhile I was also running

my hands across her back. She ran her

hands throu-gh my hair.

Wait a minute! I just thought about ending

things with her some minutes ago. What

was happening that moment, according to

my un-derstanding, was not a way of ending

things.

I put that thought on hold.

Stepping back I opened my mouth to say

something, but she put her f!nger on my

li-ps. ‘’don’t talk, babe,’’ she whispered and

k!$$£d me again.

What did I even wanted to say? That I

didn’t want to have se-x with her again?

That I wasn’t a fan of royal rumble, but

wrestle mania? Clearly, I wasn’t thinking

straight.

Don’t blame me, gala’s response to my last

question was definitely ‘’yes, to royal

rumble’’.

I started to fulfil gala’s wish. I pu-ll-ed off her

shi-t, pushed my hands un-derneath and ran

them up her back. She leaned forward

against me and sighted. I hvgged her as

she nuzzled my shoulder. Then I un-hooked

her. She tensed and leaned away. I smiled

at her and ran my hand around to lift her

br@ clear of her brea-sts.

As soon as my hands were on her brea-sts,

she sighed and relaxed again.

We k!$$£d lightly. She brou-ght her hands

down and put them around my w@!st. She

k!$$£d my cheek and ear as I ca-ressed her

brea-sts. Then I cu-mpped one in my hand and

bent down to k!ssher ti-p. Her hands c@m£

up to ru-b my hair again.

I pinched her ti-p between myl-ips, re-leased

it and I lightly li-cked it. I ran my ton-gue

around and across it pressing myl-ips to

her b0s0m.

Then I opened my mouth as wi-de as I could

and sU-Cked inside as much of her b0s0m

as would fit. I looked up at her and smiled,

then knelt In front of her and ru-bbe-d my

nose against her belly bu-tton, brushing it

throu-gh the light fuzz of hair that

surrendered it, smiling at the tickles. Both

her hands rested on my head, but she made

no attempt to guide me.

Then I opened her belt and un-bu-ttoned her

jeans. I pu-ll-ed them open and ran my nose

down throu-gh the thickening hair until I

reached her p@n-ties. I could smell she was

arou-sed. I pushed my hands inside her

jeans and felt her warm, soft skin with her

firm muscles un-derneath. Leaving my head

pressed against her legs pushing her jeans

down and pu-ll-ed them away as she stepped

out of them.

I was quite heated by this stage, so I

un-bu-ttoned my shi-t. She ran her hands

across my b©dy as I stiffed my arms out of

the sleeves and tossed the shi-t to one side.

We made our way to my room after her

mouth got busy with gala. Gala made its

heroic entry into the promise land once

again. I went back and forth for awhile

before coming. I relaxed beside her. She

made a fruitful effort to revive the dwindling

gala. Few minutes later she was on t©p of

me. Royal Rumble continued for about

twenty minutes before gala spit the second

time that night.

That was it for that night as far as I was

concerned. I wasn’t surprised waking up

alone on the be-d the next morning.

Advantage episode 8

I was at the pitch later that Sunday evening

when someone informed me about my

mum’s arrival. I knew it was going to be

ha-rd for Udenme and myself to continue our

escapade, or royal rumble as she called it.

That would not be a problem for me as I

wanted it ceased.

I was at home after the game listening to

mum’s experience at calabar when my

phone started ringing. I picked it up and it

was Princess. I headed to my room as mum

motioned me to go ahead.

‘’Hello, Mr Ronaldinho’’

‘‘Hi’’

‘’Are u still on the pitch?’’

‘’No, I’m home now’’

‘’Would you mind seeing me off? I’m about

to leave Chinenye ‘s house.’’

‘’Oh, ok. I’ll be out in ten.’’

I met her and Chinenye just outside the

street.

‘’Make sure she gets home safe,’’

Chinenye warned patting on her friend’s

shoulders. ‘’I will’’ I as-sured.

I took her hand as we walked toward her

house. We talked about academic and

religion.

I hated discussing the latter. She advised

me to choose one of my parents religion

because I told her was in between the two.

She later asked, ‘’do you have a

girlfriend?’’. I didn’t hesitate to answer,

‘’No, I don’t’’. I didn’t ask her but she

confessed of not having a b©yfri£nd.

‘’Thanks for walking me home,’’ she

appreciated as we got to her house

gate. ‘’Well, who wouldn’t?’’ I replied.

She knocked and turned back around to

give me a k!sson the cheek and whispered,

‘’good night’’. She went in as the gate was

opened before I walked back home——–

alone.

I met Udenme just outside my flat as i got

back home. ‘’Where are you coming from?’’

she asked like my mum was covered by her

b©dy. I opened my mouth to respond but

before I could utter a word she added ‘’….

and don’t tell you went to the Mei Tea,’’

because I know Ayo’s mum alre-ady cooked

when she arrived.

She was right. One would have thought my

mum should have rested after her long trip,

but she couldn’t wait for her Ronaldinho ‘s

son to return from Nou Camp to make

dinner for her and her daughter.

‘’ok, I saw a friend off’,’’ I replied.

‘’Ok. Now that your mum and my sister are

back, how do we continue seeing each

other?’’

I knew what she meant with that question,

but I tea-sed her first. ‘’like we’re seeing

each other right now’’

‘’C’mon you know what I mean’’

‘’Oh, royal rumble? I smiled

She smiled back and nodded.

‘’ Well, I’ll figure that out,’’ I as-sured.

‘’plea-se do. Good night’’.

We both walked to our separate flats. Mum

was listening to a program on Radio Lagos

as I stepped into the parlour. One thing I’ve

never and I think I will never do is listen to

the radio while there is power.

Me: hello mum

Mum: Audu must have been glad seeing

you

these past few days

Me: Of course mum.

I chuckled.

Audu was the name of Mie Tea guy.

Mum: Lazy boy

Me: Mom, you….

She cuts in

Mum: Son, if you are to going to tell me a

lazy person cannot work at the steel

company nor pl@yfootball, save it. I have

heard it all before. Your food is in the

kitchen.

Me: But it’s true mum.

Mum: Kitchen!

Me: Okay.

I went to the kitchen to dish and back to

the parlour

Mum: I spoke with Mrs Williams this

evening.

And we’ll be meeting next weekend.

Me: Oh! Great.

Mum: You can unmute the T.V now. I’m off

to my room.

Me: Good night mom.

Mum: Sweet dreams.

She left for her room and took the radio

with her.

My phone beeped. Picking it up, it was a

text from Princess. ‘’I wish I could explain

how it happened, but I can’t. I have fallen

for you and plea-se don’t make me regret it.

1 4 3.’’

I tried calling her number back but it was

switched off. Who does that? Now, I have

more reasons to finally red card the calabar

fling.

Yes, fling. That was what she was to me.

I clocked out of work the following day. I

was on my way home when my phone rang.

It was Jide. I was a continual visitor at

Jide’ hose until last two month. I used to

be the champion at the PS 2 game until

some guy, who Jide introduced as Santos,

his secondary school friend, c@m£ and

changed my status. He beat me not only

once, not twice, but three embarras-sing

times.

I was sure Jide must have missed the ever

br@gging former champion, hence why he

was calling.

Jide: my padi

Me: how na Jide?

Jide: very well, bro. I haven’t seen you since

that your remarkable defeat.

Me: I no dey pas-s dat your side these days

Jide: Galacious, u still be champion na.

Just that, ‘former’ has to come before the

title.

Me: you no well. How Santos an?

Jide: He travelled back to Onitsha. So, when

u

go show? Na only me dey around, the rest

sef no dey.

Me: coincidentally, I was just about to get

to

your street.

Another point worth of note is that Jide’s

house, beside the game we were pla-ying

there, it was most time available for ‘’royal

rumble’’ matches. His parents were ba-rely

around. His elder brother was the obstacle,

but since he always return from work

around 8 pm, we could handle that.

I called Princess later that evening and we

spoke awhile. During the conversation she

said, ‘’I want to see you’’. I suggested we

hook up at the Jide’s. She agreed.
